Sudesh Didi – 19th September 2022 Bank Holiday Monday Morning Class - GCH, London The Secret of Raja Yoga

24 September 2022

Om shanti. We are learning Raja Yoga. The one line of the song, “The ones who know the secret of Raja Yoga. By knowing the secret of Raja Yoga, you become the King of kings.” What does it mean? What is the secret? Is there any secret in reality? A secret is not to be revealed, but this secret is revealed to us every day. Every day, it is announced, explained, introduced and clarified. What is yoga, what is Raja Yoga, what is meditation, what is relationship; all different aspects of yoga are explained and understood. When there is a natural relationship with the self, with God and with each other, by first knowing, then, through experimenting, exercising and experiencing, you know the secret.

A secret is not known just by listening. A secret is a sacred thing. By knowing it, by experiencing it, it becomes real. Otherwise, it is only information. We have been hearing about Raja Yoga, and Baba has been telling us about it and making us Raja Yogis. We are studying Raja Yoga.

Yesterday, Baba spoke about the checking of all four aspects of our study, in order to become perfect and divine (Avyakt Murli on Sunday 18th September). By knowing this, and keeping this in the intellect, recognising and going deeper into these aspects, the secret of life is revealed: Manmanabhav and Madhyajibhav. These two words are the main aspects of meditation and kingdom, yoga and Raja Yoga.

Yoga means relationship. Raja Yoga is the king of yoga, it is not a yoga with force; it is not blind faith, and it does not involve self-torture. It is about enjoying the self, experiencing and tasting the true self. Relationship with God is a comfortable relationship, where we receive support, strength, power and protection. So, the secret is just a point. And this point itself is very complicated to know.

What is the secret? I am a point, you are a point, God is a Point, drama is a point. But what point? When people go into details, they are asked, “What is the point?” or “What is the point of this?” This means purpose.

The secret of Raja Yoga is to understand the purpose of life, the purpose of our existence, that is, why I am here.

Why have we come here? Were we not happy in the Soul World? There, we sit in the world of supreme silence, under the vibrations of God, the Supreme Father. In the world of light, might, nirvana (beyond sound), in that pure element - are we not happy there? What brings the souls here? What is this curiosity inside which brings the souls onto this planet?

The population is increasing day by day. People are making so much effort to go, but no one is going back. If it is a beautiful place, we should have gone back. But we cannot go back just like that. The proof of the population increase is very clear, that the souls who are coming from the soul world, they are now here. Those who have come here previously, do not go back. Then Baba explains the secret of why we stay here. Liberation in every aspect is needed. And this is the secret of how we souls become the masters of the sense organs. We have the freedom to use our sense organs. It is natural, no one is tying your mind, no one is tying your intellect, or your personality, how you express and what you express. If you are not allowed to express your mind, it is called the human right to freedom of expression. Others advocate that we should have freedom.

So, the secret of Raja Yoga is to become free from the different types of bondages, that we ourselves have created. God makes us the masters, the kings, again.

I can make myself free from influence, which is a subtle bondage; doubt is a stronger bondage; misuse is another bondage whereby the influence comes from my own wrong desires instead of from others. Desire is a disease. Baba tells us to become Ichcha maatram avidya (ignorant of the knowledge of desire). Ichcha is desire, ichcha is also wish.

So, the secret is the purity within the soul, the real power within the soul when it is clean and pure.

When the soul lacks cleanliness, honesty and purity, there is no power. The same thing which is good, changes into bad. Nectar becomes poison, when the intention is not good. So, to know the secret is to understand what point Baba is making. It is not a question of focusing on a point of light, but of focusing on what is this light He is showing me, that is, what knowledge Baba is teaching me.

The relationship with Baba; what is the relationship? Yesterday, Baba spoke about not only these four aspects, along with four aspects, he also spoke about when there is faith in God, it is not only just faith. Even devotees have faith in God; ignorant people also directly or indirectly have faith in God. But does this faith really have the faith in who God is and what God is? Who and What; main jo hoon jaisa hoon, as I am, what I am.

So, what is the difference between as I am and what I am? People recognise Me what I am, but as I am, out of millions and millions, only a few recognise Him. Generally, this question is asked, What is the difference? It is as God is, as God isn't, what He is, and He tells us what He is, only by becoming as He is. This means that as He is playing His part, the Incorporeal is incorporeal.

What is God? the Supreme Soul, the Almighty Authority, the Ocean of Knowledge, the Ocean of Peace, the Ocean of Love, all these qualities of God. God is God, good in every aspect, perfect in every aspect, the Purifier and the Almighty in every aspect, but how does He play this part at this time? This is why Baba tells us to become aware of the time, the value of the time. When I know God as God is, then I am able to understand these four different aspects that Baba was speaking about: about myself, about God, about the family, about time, about dharna and my aim and objective. So, what does as He is mean? God is incorporeal, but do I have faith that God, the Incorporeal, becomes Corporeal at this time? Only by coming into the corporeal can He reveal His secrets. Without coming here from the soul world and speaking to us, we would not be able to understand the secrets.

What is the difference between mukti and jeevan mukti (liberation and liberation-in-life)? What is the difference between the divine human beings, that is, gods, and God the Supreme God. It is when He plays the part, enters the body of a corporeal human being. At that time, His secret is that He remains as the Point, He remains bodiless. And our secret is being in the body, a bodily being, not being a human being. Not being a bodily being, being in a human body, not being a bodily being.

What is the difference between being a human being, but not a bodily being? A bodily being is actually conscious of the matter, attached to the matter, influenced by matter, misusing matter. A bodily being is body conscious.

So, the secret is that God comes in the body but never becomes a body, but becomes a human being. Baba teaches us that we are here in this body, Why are you here? What is the purpose? In the soul world, there's no experience. The secret is that you are the one who wants to experience and you want to express yourself. In the soul world, these two things do not exist. Neither experience exists nor expression exists. So, God does not give knowledge in the soul world. The souls in the soul world do not catch even the love and power that God has. Only at this time, love is experienced, and knowledge is experienced. This knowledge is given in soul consciousness. And when I am receiving this knowledge, in soul consciousness, then the soul is taking in, adding in this power, absorbing it. In body consciousness, the body does not have the power to understand. So, it does not absorb. Matter does not have the power, it does not have knowledge, so it cannot catch knowledge.

And so, soul consciousness is the point. It means in the point, the soul is a point of light. When I understand that I am here to remain soul conscious, then I'm able to experience and express what God wants me to experience and express. And I also want to experience and express myself. What do we want to experience? Do we want to experience sorrow? Do we want to experience insult? Anything that is negative, we do not want to experience. When it comes to experience, we want to remove any sorrow; we want to take the help of others to be free from sorrow.

So, the realisation is liberation from sorrow. God comes here and liberates us from the cause of sorrow. Not only does He remove temporary sorrow, but He uproots the cause of sorrow. And when we understand the point of the cause of sorrow, then we play the part happily, it's not that we do not want to come back. We play such a wonderful play; we enjoy so much with each other; we love all these actors together; we want them to come with us again. There will be the same actors, same parts and the same drama.

What is the secret? We must have played that part in harmony. And that's why Baba tells us not to see the weakness of others, but check the weakness within yourself you want to remove. So, the point is you recognise your weakness, and realise the weaknesses of others, but make the light of yourself as Baba expresses in a very beautiful way yesterday: ‘long-distance vision’ and ‘short-distance’. Those who wear glasses know this experience. Even when we are not wearing glasses, you are sitting at the dining table; some children look at others, they see the other’s plate has more, their plate has less. The food was served with the same ladle; how can it be less for you and more for others? In fact, it is the vision of seeing the weaknesses of others that creates an imbalance. Then, we create bondage and our intellect becomes clouded, our mind becomes impure, and our reaction becomes automatic.

It is an imbalanced life because our old sense organs do not work in harmony.

What is the secret of the knowledge of Raja Yoga? It's the harmonious kingdom; it's a loving kingdom. The total essence is: A balanced life is blissful. Being in the body, a human being, a vision of a divine being, not only a human but a human being, a divine being. So the soul is divine, and the being is divine. So, I am a human being, who is becoming a divine being. A divine being means a spiritual being. Spirituality brings divinity, spirituality brings royalty, and spirituality brings reality. Baba spoke about the signs of truth, that is, the right civilisation. Civil-vision, civil-eye, civil-life, elevated life.

God has come at this time. When He comes, He remains in this world, but totally detached. He plays the Part of the Principal Actor, but remains unaffected and unbound by bondage. The realisation of my relationships with God, the moment I understand that He is not only the Father, I balance all relationships with Baba. In the relationships with the Father, there is intoxication. Of course, it's my birth right, yet it is the worthy child who receives the sovereignty. So, my relationship with the Father must also become that with the Teacher. Baba is my Teacher, and I am a student; that makes me a king. Otherwise, the whole world should become kings. Why don't they become kings? Because there isn’t the study; the knowledge is not there. Raja Yoga teaches us knowledge, so the Father becomes the Teacher. It is a balanced relationship of the intoxication that I am a child of the Almighty, but at the same time, the realisation that I am not just a child, but I am a royal child, I am a divine child, a spiritual child, then I learn to bring these qualities in action. So, my relationship with Baba as my Teacher makes me the king, the master of my sense organs first.

What is mastery? Is it any kind of control? In fact, the vices have made us wild; there is no control. Virtues make us disciplined; no string and no chain attached. So, when the intellect becomes more and more subtle, it becomes divine and clear with the knowledge, the yoga of the intellect is with Him. Another point is to have the yoga of the intellect with Him. So, the intellect is connected with the Teacher.

What is the difference between faith, trust and belief? When we begin to practise knowledge, it becomes my real faith and trust. Then it becomes my belief because this is what lives in me. What I am, being peaceful, loveful and powerful, these live in me and becomes my personality and my sanskars. What lives in me in the form of sanskars will go with me. Nothing else will go with me, my property will not go with me, and my organs will not go with me. In the soul world, only what I carry in me that will go with me, I take the liberation, and not the divinity in me, not take the percentage of purity within me. Matter will not pull me before time; the Golden Age will not pull me in the Golden Age before time. Time will be pulling time.

The intoxication of time at the Confluence Age is the secret to pulling me into the Golden Age. It is not only the intoxication, as faith at this time, this faith connects with the Golden Age. Faith at this time, that my Brahman life is an elevated life; my new life is a divine life; my new life is a pure life. It is elevated; it is pure; it is divine. So, this sanskar will take me into the pure and divine land and the divine world.

This is why it's important to have faith in yourself, faith in the family, faith in time and faith in Baba. Then there is the relationship with the Satguru, the truth. If I recognise the truth, the true relationship with Baba enables me to have a true relationship with my own self. And the true relationship with my own self brings the relationship with God. True relationship with the and the realisation of the self is the first subject of knowledge. If I do not know who I am, what my qualities are, my relationship with others is only “Hello, hi, Om Shanti”.  I say to myself that I'm a soul, you are a soul, a powerful soul, a loveful soul. But in fact, I am not having a relationship, we are just meeting each other. So, I am also meeting myself, either in meditation or in communication for a short time.

The relationship with me is what I am as a child of God; it means peace, love, purity, wisdom, truth, benevolence; that is relationship. And this relationship creates a relationship with others. With that vision, I have good feelings, I have good faith, I have good wishes for myself, then automatically, it becomes meditation; it becomes purification in myself and in others.

The quality of this balance is that balance is bliss. Balancing the four subjects, that is our aim and objective. So, to become the King of kings, is to become Lakshmi and Narayan. And to Lakshmi and Narayan means Vishnu. And what does Vishnu mean? Four subjects.

If I'm having only one subject, then ego will develop, and I'm dangling with ego. Or if I am just doing sitting yoga, yoga yoga, and I don't enjoy it, then it is like holding one string, it is difficult, and it feels like I'm hanging myself, with one string tied to the tree. If I have two strings, it's a swing. If I have four subjects, four strings, it's a royal swing; we begin to swing in the swing of supersensuous joy. So, the secret is not only a happy life, not only a comfortable life, but a yogi life, supersensuous life. So, the control is not only of the sense organs, but a natural discipline, a natural way of living a divine life.

An elevated life is the secret of Raja Yoga, and to become the King of kings. Om shanti.

Sister Jayanti – 18th September 2022 am GCH To know, accept and then to follow….

20 September 2022

Baba’s Murli today covers the subject of faith. And four aspects of faith: the self, God, family and drama.  At one point Avyakt Bapdada said that these four aspects of faith are like the four sides of the lift.  When all four sides of the lift are closed then it can move.  If they are not closed on all four sides then it cannot move.  So in terms of faith and how we can fly up in Sangamyug, we can see how all four aspects are equally important and if one aspect is missing the soul gets stuck and is not able to move nor reach the destination of the highest stage God is offering us.

We always heard the word faith in the context of God.  Usually people say that which you cannot see but believe in is faith, not visible.  So I am very surprised they then take up human form and say to have faith in those.  And Baba says, of course, none of that is valid, but it is the Incorporeal, which we cannot see with these eyes, and yet we have faith.  Baba has used three words today:  janna, manna, chalnna:   to know, to accept and to follow.   Baba has used this especially in the context of the faith that you are the soul.  We have heard of faith in God, but it is only Baba that says to have the faith that you are a soul.  They speak of soul and yet do not define it, nor use the term; to have the faith that you are a soul. There is quite a difference.  The first is to know that I am a soul and know God.  The second is to accept that this is truly who I am and to accept that this is the Supreme Being, and to reflect on that title, Supreme Soul, to accept this.  Then we start to get an idea of the greatness of God, the Supreme amongst all.  Then to follow it through in terms of practise.  The practice of soul consciousness and the practice of all relationships with one.  All three things, step by step, by step.  We can see how far we have been able to move on that journey for ourselves, and accordingly then how it works in our life.

Baba has said and it is remembered in the Gita, faith leads to victory. Baba has often spoken about it in Sakar and Avyakt Murlis. Yet Baba is asking us to check ourselves to see to what extent are we experiencing victory.  At one point, Dadi had defined success and victory as both words were coming up.  Success is related to the external.  Service and aspects I get engaged in and if I am seeing the success of that great, but if I am not seeing this, I need to find out the reason.  Baba’s knowledge is such that we realise that Drama is so perfect that nothing ever happens without a reason. So if not success, I need to see where something is not quite right, I haven’t got the formula correct and so things are not turning out the way I would like.   Then victory.  Baba says check the quality and percentage of faith in terms of victory.  What is that?  Victory is all the things that are going on inside of me.  To what extent do I have victory over negativity and over waste.  So we can begin to see powerfully how we can judge our own faith with this.  We can say we have faith and also say ‘why is God not helping me’.  Do these sentences match?  Even a lokik father would respond instantly, if we say we need help.  God is instantly going to do what is needed. He is not just a father, He is the Supreme Father.  We don’t even have to make a phone call!  I just have to invoke Baba.  Baba is a magic word.  I just have to think of Baba and in whatever way the help is needed it is going to happen.  I don’t need to ask.  Baba sees.  I just have to invoke so that Baba becomes present and I don’t feel alone, but feel the power of God with me.

I have just mentioned the negativity and waste.  In any situation if for example, there are two people working together and one gets a little intolerant and impatient and the other one very quietly just leaves.  Where is the victory and where is the defeat If I have become intolerant and inpatient is that victory or defeat as someone quietly left and I can then just get on with it.  But this is defeat because even in a little thing I couldn’t tolerate and I reacted and my old sanskars had victory over me.  So can I keep checking throughout the day at what point do I move away from srimat, which would mean defeat. In little things like tolerating someone’s nature or tolerating a little bit of challenge in terms of comfort or discomfort, likes or dislikes.  Can I keep checking and experimenting ‘am I tolerant’.  Think of all the powers…it is not just one.  To what extent am I using the powers that Baba has given me.  The powers are available to me.  I have to connect and then all these powers will come to serve me.  Baba sometimes uses the expression and asks us to check ‘When am I having victory and when am I experiencing defeat and that will show me how far I have moved in terms of faith.  Faith is not static.  Faith can grow and develop and this is why we are all still here.  When we came to Baba what was the quality of our faith then.  And with all life’s experiences that were put in front of us, we are still here today, still coming here early on a Sunday morning!  The more we experience victory the more my faith grows.  Faith increases the more we experience victory.  The more we experience victory the more my faith in Baba grows.  Also with the subject of faith in the self.  The challenge of this particular examination is that it is ongoing and all day!  In the lokik world we know exams are coming and we prepare.  But in this case, when Baba says ‘Be ever ready’ It is a reality as we don’t know when tests will come.  This is why Amrit Vela is so important to fill the soul with Baba’s power and to use that power at all times throughout the day.  Baba says the examination takes just one moment.  Baba is not just talking about at the end….although at the end is it just Baba, or are attachments pulling me.  Is it really just Baba and I can say, yes Baba I am ready to come and ready to stay and do whatever you wish.  Maybe Baba is going to touch you and take you to a place of safety.  Or maybe Baba is going to say, yes this is time to leave the body and become the angel and fly.  We don’t know.  But through the passage of each day we need to see…..maybe I have parked the car and come back and see a puncture, or a scratch….what is my stage there.  Am I able to say it is ok, it is only a car.  Or am I upset and I forget all the gyan.  So we have to be ever ready at all times. My victory will strengthen faith and will allow me to pass the tests.  Tomorrow bigger tests will come and I will be able to manage.  But maybe I explode internally at a little thing, that is also fine, as at least then I know where I am at and there are no illusions, but if I can see what the signals are telling me,  I then know what more I need to do.

I found the Murli beautiful, powerful and fascinating and the thought came that even if we had this one Murli if we just follow, we could become complete and perfect.  Yet we have an Avyakt Murli each week.  All the things of gyan that Baba is teaching us and then there is the practical impact of these in terms of the quality of my yoga and dharna.  These are the two subjects Baba takes up.  So the avyakt Murli truly is the mirror to see the self, with these three steps:  To know, accept and then to follow.

When I came to Baba I didn’t know I was coming for transformation.  I was coming to understand as I was so curious what the Brahma Kumaris teach.  The more I understood the more I realised that understanding means practical transformation otherwise I haven’t really understood.  It is the end of the season in this 1992 Murli and Baba has given us homework.  You will pick up all the treasures I am sure.

Today is another bhog for Srad

Om Shanti

Sudesh Didi - 11th September 2022 – Sharings on Shraadh

13 September 2022

The confluence age is the age of celebration to experience and express eternal love, pure love, respectful love, gratitude love and also devotional love.It is the time to share now with right understanding and right meaning what Baba is teaching us at the confluence age.

On the path of bhakti, something which works like ritual but basis is spiritual; it has a spiritual meaning. And the ritual is done with a lot of bhavna, lot of bhakti faith, but sometimes it is done with fear; “if you don’t do this something wrong can happen” – “maybe we will be cursed” – “we will lose something if we do not do that”. But “if we do this then we will get this” If, but, why and what is always there. On one side there is a lot of devotion and bhakti but behind it, is hidden if, but, why and what.

But here Baba’s knowledge is so beautiful and so clear to explain the meaning and as well as feeling behind it; the significance and the attitude and vision and relationships Now there is this system of offering bhog for the ancestors.  Baba says: “you are the ancestors”, because we are sitting in the roots of the tree as Baba said today. And we are the trunk of the tree to give support to the whole world. But at this time it is a practical task of giving the power of our good wishes and thank you and gratitude to all the souls of those who have been connected in the rosary of relationships. But now we don’t do it with karmic accounts but we are now creating an elevated karmic account.

Sometimes relations are to give and take from karmic accounts but Baba says now this is a pleasant account a “present” that you are offering is you are offering bhog with great love to the ancestors; to the souls who are gone. Those souls have left their legacy of love, their respect, their sustenance, their dedication, their sacrifice and their support in different ways. Whether they left at a young age or at old age, the Shraadh is offered with gratitude and love.

And so it is at this time when Baba is appreciating us for what we do and we appreciate all the souls of the Kalpa tree who have sustained the world in different ways.

So the Shraadh bhog starts today and these two weeks will actually be the days of Shraadh. What reaches them… how will the bhog reach them? But what will reach them, is our bhavna and our love and our feelings of doing something good for ourselves as well as for others. So we are creating an account with the Supreme Being the Supreme Soul. Our connection is with Baba and Baba then sends power to them; Baba showers blessing and love and whatever the souls need at this moment because at different times there are different needs in the soul; the desire or the wish of the soul.

We know that when the soul leaves the body, of course the dress is changed. Even if you keep the picture of that person, that soul is not in that dress; so how many photographs should we keep of our ancestors to offer bhog to them? So we don’t keep pictures but we keep their character and we remember their stories.

Second thing we know is their dress is changed and their address is also changed. We do not know where to send our good wishes; it is difficult to send our good wishes so we just connect with the main centre office, the Supreme Baba; He knows the new address and Baba can support them and send His powerful vibration to them and so we leave that to Baba. And that is why we sit in loveful remembrance and in powerful remembrance with gratitude and giving thanks in remembrance.

The third aspect we know is their role has changed. We don’t remember them with sorrow; we don’t say: oh why have they gone and wish they were still here. They are here in this world but their role has changed and so they have gone to play another role.

And so let that power be filled in the role that the soul is playing.

Internally we are not actually attached to them; we know they have got a new job in the new company and so let them do their new job in the new company with their specialities and qualities.

So on one side it is a balance and on one side it is great respect; there is deep feeling of gratitude and on the other side we are totally detached. This balance doesn’t make us feel sad; we don’t offer bhog with sadness; we offer bhog with love, with pure feelings and we create our account with Baba

In the name of them we create our fortune, because when we sow the seeds for whatever we want Baba to offer that is our account with Baba. And also our good feelings for our ancestors and in reality for ourselves because we are the ancestors of the whole world and so many would be offering bhog to you and you would receive that through Baba  And so certainly we were also grandmothers, grandfathers or whatever relationships, they must be offering bhog to me today in my name as well but we know it is Baba who is going to give me everything.

Every ritual has some spiritual aspect and some meaning behind it…

Om Shanti

Sister Jayanti – 11th September 2022 - GCH The stage of an angel

13 September 2022

The [meditation] song was in praise of Brahma Baba. Today’s murli is reminding us that if we have love for Baba and we have love for Brahma Baba then we will make an effort to create a stage that is equal to Baba and that is the stage of an angel.I will pick up on that in a few minutes.

But before that Baba has reminded us again that “self and service” have to go together. You can’t just focus on service alone and of course our habit is to do action – action. We have grown up in a world of activity and outputs are the results and so service becomes a very good subject to focus on because there are a lot of actions. But Baba is saying that none of that is useful, if there isn’t the attention on the self.

So, self and service both have to go together. In fact both are combined together because focus on service will help me to have attention to myself, if I am doing it in a real way with honesty. And focusing on the self is to make sure that my qualities are going to be used for service. So both are actually combined together, but we tend to separate them and then we say: “because we are so busy in service we don’t have time for the self”. But Baba is not accepting that.

Since the last several months we have been hearing many murlis from 1991, the Year of Tapasya, in which Baba has explained very clearly about ‘self and service’ going together. And so tapasya for the self but also that tapasya is such that it can serve the world.

It is not just Avyakt BapDada who has emphasised this, but of course it started with Sakar Baba’s days. And in yesterday’s murli Baba had said “what is the highest form of charity that you can do?” It is yoga. Baba said twice in the murli yesterday that “yoga is the highest form of service”.

Today Baba is talking about how when you are engaged in service or even making plans for service… and it is something that Baba has told us before… when He has spoken about having a “plane intellect”, so that your plans can be successful. Usually Baba talks about the plain intellect as being one that is clean, free from all waste thoughts; nothing else is mixed in them.

But today Baba has given a bit more detail about how plain intellect means to actually have the consciousness of being an instrument for renewal and together with that, humility. In Hindi the two words rhyme together, nirmaanta, the one who is engaged in renewal and namrata, the one who is humble. They sound very similar; they are very similar. But the focus that Baba is giving us is that you need to have both these stages in order for your plans to be successful. Otherwise you can make brilliant plans but they are not going to come to any fruition; they may not be worthwhile. Or even Baba said you can make grand plans, but if you don’t have these two qualities of just focussing on renewal and also on humility, then there is a possibility for those plans to lead you to do yourself a disservice. And yes we have examples of that also, but just to have that focus.

Renewal; when I start thinking about renewal I realise that it applies both to the self and the world out there. So when Baba is saying these two qualities are needed for a plain intellect for plans to be successful, in fact both are the qualities of the soul.Baba is not saying ‘you need a clever intellect to make successful plans for service’.Baba is very specifically talking about the two qualities needed internally. And so in fact then it is not even a question of “balance of in and out”, but it is total attention on “in”.

And if I am focussing on those two things then whatever happens outside will work out well. Even if it is a simple plan, Baba said it is okay, that simple plan will also do service with these two qualities.

And so just looking at the word “renewal” and yes it is telling me about the renewal of my own inner world but it is also talking about construction, that which is constructive and not destructive. Sometimes when you think about service, you are thinking about brand new things and we forget that whatever we do is actually step by step leading from one thing to another. And so it has to be constructive.

If I am destructive about the things that have happened already, in the sense of being critical, then that is not renewal. I should understand that the tree only grows, if the roots are strong, if this foundation is there. And I am not talking about the golden age; I am talking about sangamyug that the roots of service have to be deep laid through renunciation and tapasya and that spirit of service, which is actually the spirit of giving.

And so that foundation is there, this is why we have come up here, wherever that may be, big things little things but that foundation has allowed us to come up to a certain point. And then if I am critical about whatever is the foundation, then that is not constructive, it is destructive, because it will create doubts in my mind and it will create doubts in the minds of others.

In lokik life, when we look at history, you look at the negative and the positive. But when you look at the story of sangamyug, if you look at it with a negative vision, how far are you going to get? Baba came and yes a lot happened at that time but we understand why it happened. If I am critical about it and say: oh why did all this happen? You understand what I am talking about is all the struggles for purity and so on.If I look back on that history and say: but today Baba is saying, stay in the family, why didn’t they stay in their families?  But it was a different world, a different era and Baba needed to have those who could sacrifice everything in God’s love.

So you can see how looking at our own history can be a very destructive vision or it can be a constructive vision. And if I look back in recent times also and say: it shouldn’t have happened like this; why did it happen like this? It is not helpful.

And so just that concept of construction rather than destruction is what renewal is actually all about in terms of what I am creating within myself but also what I am an instrument for in terms of creating out there. So the one who is an instrument for renewal, it is one little word Hindi, but it carries a huge significance.

And then humility; now, number 99 on the board of snakes and ladders is ego: “I did this”; “I am doing this”, all of these things are highly dangerous, both for the self but also for service. This is why Baba is saying to have a plain intellect.

I don’t remember Baba defining ‘plain intellect’ in the way that He has today. I would have heard this murli, I would have read this murli a few times maybe, but it is today that it actually registered the definition for plain intellect. We have heard this expression come up in many avyakt murlis and also when we read mama’s murlis, mama has also talked about the plain intellect. So things register in different ways at different times.

So ego is that which brings me down but that which also causes problems in service or problems in relationships with anyone actually. So am I dealing with these two things? If I am then the plans for service will be fruitful otherwise they will not.

The other thing I want to talk about is where Baba had given a definition of an angel, in one little sentence. This is the beauty of the avyakt murlis. One little sentence can carry everything. We have heard the definition of an angel as “farishta doesn’t have any rishta with anyone”. Rishta means relationships and farishta means an angel. That sentence comes often in the blessing, that an angel is one who has no relationship with anything or anyone else. Today Baba has defined that a little bit more: “the angel is one who has no relationship with the body and the old sanskars and the old world.

That doesn’t mean that you don’t take care of the chariot. Sometimes we interpret Baba’s words in a very literal way. But no, Baba has talked enough about managing the body.Last week Baba was talking at length about going to Madhuban; it was a murli in which two people had left the body with heart attacks and Baba gave a very clear explanation, you have to think about your body, you have to think about Madhuban, where you are going, you have to think about the altitude of Madhuban and so Baba was giving very practical instructions about that.

So within the context of “what it is that is pulling my attention”; Baba is talking about context. I do what I need to do for the body, to take care of it, that is fine; there is no problem; Baba wants me to do that. At one point, Baba told Dadi Janki: you are not just the driver of your vehicle, you are also the mechanic.Baba finds interesting expressions that stick in your head decades later. Dadi was having a hard time with her chariot at that time, so Baba said: rest is best and be a mechanic.

But together with having done what I need to, I have to check: is it that it is pulling my intellect?Another expression that Baba has used is “I want” “I want” “I want”- and so to just see how that fits in within: “I want more for my body, for the food or for whatever “I want”, “I want”, “I want more, more, more…

It is the same murli and so on one side Baba is saying: “don’t think about more, more, more, but just think about whatever is the need. Then further, am I thinking more about this body than I am about the soul? And not even in terms of thinking about it but is my thinking based on that consciousness that “I am this body” because so many things come out of that.

And so Baba is saying: no, remember that you are an eternal, immortal soul. You are not male, you are not female; you are not young, you are not old; you are not Punjabi, Guajarati, Hindi, you are a soul.

So wherever it is I am not this body. I am that inner being, the soul

And then, the old sanskars; do I have the possibility of looking inside myself before I perform an action and see, in that split moment: which sanskar am I choosing to allow coming into words and actions?

And it doesn’t have to be a split moment; it can be longer; I don’t have to rush into replying to an email. Probably the first reaction I have to something I read is: “why should they do this?” and I knock of an email. And a few minutes later I think, I sent off the train in the wrong direction because my reply to that email is going to mean it is going to be action - reaction. And then whatever they have said that was their responsibility but my response triggered that reaction. And so it is my responsibility and I am also responsible for their wasteful thoughts. But at least I may now take a few moments to write…

But when I am speaking, there is a reaction here and I spit it out and it causes problems for months –maybe years. So can I check and see: can I be soul conscious? I am hearing somebody speak and I check: am I ‘here’? [Am I soul-conscious?]  And if I am here [soul-conscious] then it will be the appropriate response and my divine sanskars, my deity sanskars are going to come into play. And the more I use my deity sanskars, the closer I come to my destination.

And if I am not checking, if I am not practicing soul consciousness, then the words come out and it is my old sanskars that are triggering my reaction. And so the angelic stage is very far away.

This is why Baba is saying, think about the “new you”. And the first part of the murli is all about elevating our consciousness: who am I? Am I that original soul with that direct connection with God? Half of the murli is all about our fortune of our direct connection with God. So I won't take that up because Baba has explained that in a lot of detail very clearly. But in that stage of intoxication and love for Baba, there is no problem in terms of new sanskars and old sanskars. And in fact Baba is asking me not just new sanskars, but the original old, old sanskars that are there within me.

So there is no connection with the body, I can detach when I want; there is no connection with my old sanskars, but more than that there is no connection with the old world. Now what does that mean?Does that mean that you give up your job and say: ok Baba, I am here, now look after me? It can’t work like that. Baba is talking about the attraction of the old world.

So as I do my job, am I aware that this isn’t just for earning pounds and pence, but it is to enable me to be in the heart of society and making connections with everyone is part of my role of renewal and humility. To be there with the family and at work but I do it differently, so that there is renewal going on inside of me.  Whatever it is that I do, I am doing it with a different consciousness and I am seeing that this too is a part of renewal. If you can’t instantly think about what is the connection of my lokik work with renewal – (that is your homework) - and you will see the connection very quickly. And you will then be able to treat your place of work differently with different vision and different attitudes because your consciousness is different.

So, being an angel is just in three words: breaking the connection with the body, old sanskar and old world. And that really covers everything. If you have done that, then you are up above, you are light in terms of your awareness; there is no heaviness about anything:  how can I do this; how is it going to happen; it is never going to get done. No, there will be that lightness but also you will be radiating light; from your forehead, there will be a light bulb that is shining and it will shine from your eyes, it will shine through your words and through your life.

Last thing I want to mention from today’s murli is where Baba said: how come you are not yet perfect. Because in1990, Baba had said: okay you will have a year for tapasya to become perfect and now it is 1992, how come you didn’t achieve that?The point is Baba was expecting us to have done everything, service and the self by1992! And where are we now? {We are in 2022}

And so it is a long way away!

Today if I think that “I need to change this and this so that I can become perfect” and if I am determined about it, then it is going to be possible.Baba said determination leads to success…

Om Shanti

Sudesh Didi – 4th September 2022 Sunday Morning Class at GCH, London: Protection through Friendship with the Self

10 September 2022

Om shanti. Om shanti. Power of peace, shanti, or the power of silence, deep shanti, sweet shanti, love for shanti
What is the source of shanti?

People say they want peace of mind. The experience of the mind is peacelessness. But it is not the mind that is peaceless, it is the soul that has forgotten its source; the mind itself is the source of peace, because the mind is one of the powers of the soul, and the original nature of the soul is peace. So, the mind has become the old friend of the soul, and the soul is an enemy of its own. It is the mind which generates the energy by becoming Manmanabhav, focusing the mind on Baba.

In today’s slogan also, Baba says, become a donor; give the donation of power with your mind; donate virtues through your behaviour: actions, interaction or connection with each other; donate jewels of knowledge by becoming Rup Basant (embodiment of yoga and embodiment of knowledge), through your words, through your mouth. So, become a charitable soul and a donor.

So, what's the difference between giving cooperation, donation, and act of charity?

Cooperation is where there is love for each other; there is friendship, and cooperation comes automatically without asking. In Hindi, it is called, sneh sahayogSneh is the actual soul conscious love. And when the soul is seeing the need of another soul. It is the task that the other person is carrying out, and you also want to help in that cooperation, which is to help with the task in a physical way.

Donation is to fulfil bodily needs; maybe it is helping someone with wealth, with clothes, food, and the need of the body.

The act of charity is what the soul needs. Baba says that in the golden age, all are charitable souls. So, there is no one who is poor and needs donations. Charity begins at home. It means that when we learn to give charity to our own selves, When we work on the self, we are giving cooperation to ourselves. As well as cooperation to ourselves, Baba tells us to give cooperation of our power to others. When others are angry, when others are not behaving with respect or love, or they are violent, just give them cooperation. What does that mean? Not the cooperation in terms of what we are doing, but it is the act of charity that gives them cooperation; it is the power within yourself which you have. So, you give it, and that is the act of charity because the soul needs power.

So, we are here today to become powerful. For what? Why should we become powerful? What has made us weak? it is the powers within us as souls, which we have lost or misused. We have become weak, or we have lost them; we can say that we are defeated. So, Baba has created a fortress here. Of course, this weekend is a nice opportunity (Global Silence Retreat), the focus is “the Fortress of Perfect Purity”, protection by being a protector or under the protection of the Protector. In fact, this is a place of peace and silence; Baba has created a fortress. We have to create the power within ourselves. It's not a question of receiving protection from anything else. The first protection is to become powerful, to make the mind powerful or to make ourselves virtuous so that we can cooperate with others or help others with the virtues. The first thing is that I have to become my own friend.

Time and energy are lost through fighting with my own self. Who are my enemies? This aspect is very subtle. The mind says this is a good task; I know it is, but I will do it tomorrow. Today, I am very busy doing this other task. In this way, the mind, in the form of laziness or procrastination, delays elevated tasks. It can also be in a very visible way: the dictates of my own mind, the desires of my own mind.

That is what takes a long time. Time is energy, and fighting with that is immediately visible, and we don't realise that we are using so much energy, fighting with our own selves. Friends do not fight, friends cooperate. But here we are fighting with ourselves. So, I have become my own enemy.

So, who has come, that I have to fight and I have to conquer now? Someone who is violent, causing violence in me, instead of silence; someone who is creating noise in me, instead of making peace. And the loudest voice is of my own thoughts. Even in my sleep, I can hear my own thoughts, I could see my thoughts playing wonderful games. From where, this dream has come? I have not thought of it. But in the subconscious mind, certain things are so strong, that in the dream, you are reacting, and you're fighting, and you are sulking or you are suffering, and at that time, nobody else is actually attacking you. But this enemy, which has sat inside the consciousness of the body, which I have collected. So, it can be my own thinking, my own imagination; it can be doubt; it can be in the form of expectations. My expectation is a very subtle enemy. Within my own self, it is good that I have to have enthusiasm, courage and confidence, but it is different when I compare myself with others, and have expectations of myself doing what others are doing. To do something when I am inspired, when I really take the power to discern, then it is good. But when it is comes from comparison, then it becomes a competition. And competition becomes an inner fight.

There is no need to compare the self with anyone because the intellect knows that each individual is totally different. You cannot copy another person. Even if you try to copy, it will not be a real copy because each individual soul is totally different. Even the physical bodies of two twins who look alike with the same features, there are still differences in the subtle features. The sanskars are also different because the soul is different. Every soul is uniquely different, though we are all the children of the Supreme Being, the Supreme Soul.

So, first, I have to learn to conquer my inner enemy. Instead of saying conquer my enemy, it is better that I learn to become my own friend. When I learn to become my own friend, when my mind is wandering here and there, my friend (the intellect) will make me aware of what is not good for me. When the mind keeps thinking about something which I should not think about, the intellect will remind me not to continue making the same mistake; otherwise, I will waste a lot of energy. Whatever I hear, the mind enjoys thinking the same thing, and has the power to make it so real. The intellect says no, it could be a misunderstanding. Whatever you have heard through the ears, is it really true? This person told me something and I start to believe that to be the truth. I have heard someone saying something about me, or telling others about me. Although they are unrighteous things about me, I begin to believe and start to fight with something which is false, which is imagination or a misunderstanding. I believe something which is a misunderstanding, believing it with belief. It is a misunderstanding and I convince myself that it is true. So, I am fighting with my own self unnecessarily, and that is creating peacelessness in the mind. We want peace of mind, because the soul wishes to fill itself again with the power of peace.

We can conquer our inner enemy only when we can become powerful, when we become a detached observer and play our parts as players. One point which Baba says is churning in my mind: Baba says that in this field of action, in this drama, there are 10 players playing; five players are the agents of nature, the elements, and the other five players are the agents of Ravan. These five players of Ravan, which are of body consciousness, ignorance, and forgetfulness, have taken away all the health, wealth, and happiness that we have. They have destroyed our divinity, our spirituality and our purity. That's why Baba is once again making me my own friend. My own friend means that I stay more with myself in soul consciousness, rather than friendship with my body, that is, body consciousness. The body is already with me, but in that consciousness, I am being influenced by the five elements more, and in this way the soul desires and is attracted towards things, because the body is from the five elements.

The five elements are the earth, water, fire, air and ether. What are their properties, and what power has each element got in them? With the body consciousness, they defeat me; with which power that body consciousness leads to my defeat? The body is lifeless; the body has no life, yet body consciousness is conquering me. It is the five players of matter that defeat me because the body is matter. In this play, I am defeated because of its subtle power and subtle energy. The body is flesh and bones, but its attraction is towards the physical form, the ‘gravity’.

Earth has ‘gravity’; this is the attraction towards anything physical, towards human beings or towards objects or towards the beauty of nature. Being influenced by the ‘gravity’, we say “I like it.”  Baba says today that like itself, though it is not a desire, but like is a door that will trap you in bondage. It's a cobweb. So, we create enemy in this way. Attraction is the enemy that traps me.

‘Gravity’ means that which is bringing me down. I meditate and try to go up, instead of flying, this gravity of body consciousness brings me down. So, the fight is taking place in meditation. I want to go up and then suddenly I feel tired. I become aware of some type of tiredness. So, this is the effect of attraction.

The second element is water; blood connection and so, emotion. How I have understood is that the emotional relationships or the emotions themselves, will create heat in me, fire will come, and anger will come. As the heat increases, my blood pressure will increase. Fear generates anger; krodh ka jvar, fever of anger creates heat.

One after another, these five vices, play in a very subtle way, and take away our energy. Gradually, we become weaker and weaker. Then, greed is taking away my loyalty. I am a loyal person, so there is satisfaction with what I have. So, it is not greed for the material; it is subtle greed. Although you are given love, you are given respect; you are being taken care of very well, you still go into comparison.

In the family with two children, one says, “Mother, you love him more.” “You care more about my brother and you care about me less.” In this way, we begin to compare, and gradually, the quality within ourselves changes. As body consciousness increases, ego drives the self, and we think that everything should be under my control, that I should be informed of everything, and that nothing should go without my direction.

So, body consciousness is with the five elements, and in the five elements are these five vices. Lust is a desire of body consciousness which starts with that attraction and temptation. If this lust is not fulfilled, anger comes; if it is fulfilled, then it creates attachment. Now that attachment influences the soul, I get into more and more situations. I have to live and look after them; I need a job; I need more and more. If I get a lesser position, I feel I am less; if I get a high position, I feel that no one is as great as me.

So, this is how body consciousness leads to the fight with these five elements of the physical body, through vices and also through the elements of nature. It is very clear that everything is now out of control. Baba says they will play for the final destruction. Right now, these vices are playing to bring the destruction of our original qualities.

So, who will help us conquer the five vices? The other five which I have to join. Baba has given all of us the title of Shiv Shakti Pandava army. This is Baba’s spiritual army; these five powers (knowledge, purity, peace, love and happiness) are those of Godly powers.

With knowledge, we become a knowledgeable soul, not only with only faith and love, but knowledge-full. Today’s Murli is about bhavna yog, remembrance and love; through knowledge in the intellect and through yoga, we develop faith, intoxication and determination. Our relationship with Baba is on a totally different level; bhakti feeling and loving feeling will only fulfil the soul temporarily; it will change it will not make you strong. This is why knowledge is the light, knowledge is might and this is God Almighty’s might of knowledge.

With purity, Baba takes us through so many levels of purity: of thought, word and action. So, the more the power of purity increases, automatically the effect of impurity decreases. When the light is lit, the darkness is dispelled. But it is not a fight. Godly powers do not fight; with friendship instead of with fight, these powers make us victorious.

When these five players together with the Director Baba the Almighty come to play their role in action, we are victorious. Then, the sanctuary of peace and love becomes, not only a house, not only a temple, but it becomes a palace where harmony and happiness, where the golden world exists.

Therefore, we don't have to fight, but we are victorious souls who are the jewels around Baba’s neck. This is why, in order to become the jewel around Baba’s neck, the garland around His neck, the beloved children of Baba, just learn to love yourself, and become a friend of yourself, through which you protect and support yourself.

Love is the key, that is, service for the self, love for Baba, service for myself and for others. That is Godly power. With knowledge and loveful remembrance, sneh yog,, and I only remember one mantra. Then, this small mistake of “what I have to forget, I remember, and who I have to remember, I forget” will stop, and I will not miss out on claiming my inheritance.

We missed our inheritance with this one mistake. This is why Baba gives us the mantra of Manmanabhav, turn your mind towards Me. Start talking to Baba and yourself. Then our remembrance becomes yogyukt (accurate yoga), saturated with knowledge, saturated with yoga, and saturated with understanding.

Om shanti.

Sudesh Didi – 29th August 2022 Morning Class, GCH, London: Forgiveness begins with Self-love

1 September 2022

Om shanti. Every day before Murli, the day starts from Amrit Vela, in remembrance. Baba says, “Remember Me, remember Me.” In Hindi, it's called, yaad.  Baba says that the word ‘yoga’ can be confusing, but the word remembrance or yaad, is relationship. Sometimes, people say. “Pray for me.”, “God, bless me. Have mercy on me.” And Baba says, “Have mercy on yourself.” What is the method? Remembrance itself or yaad in Hindi, yaada…yaada…yaada…yaada… if you continue to speak, what does it become? Daya (Mercy), yaadayaadayaa… daya, mercy, mercy, mercy.

God is merciful. But He says, “You have to have mercy on yourself.” So, mercy, daya, is actually the root, the foundation of righteous consciousness. There is a saying in Hindi, righteousness is the root of mercy, daya dharm ka mool hai, the foundation is mercy.  Paap mool abhimaan, the root cause of sin and unrighteousness is ego, body consciousness. Don't let go of righteousness as long as you are in this body, while you are aware that you are living in this world.

Daya: mercy, sympathy, compassion, and forgiveness; daya is actually the quality of the soul. When there is love, automatically, the heart is able to accept whatever the situation is. Forgiveness begins with the self. What is forgiveness? What is the meaning of forgiveness? Forgiveness is a blessing. Forgiving others is possible only when my heart is clean and pure. Giving is actually receiving. People say, I cannot forgive, I cannot forgive myself I cannot forgive others. The reason is to do with our thinking, our concept of that, it is the consciousness of forgiving, or please forgive me. It's not actually giving; giving is receiving.

What is it that I'm receiving when I forgive? What is the reason for not being able to forgive myself or forgive others? Because I am not accepting what I have done, that I have to mend it. I have to be righteous again. And in the same way, again and again, we focus on what is not right, on what has been done wrong, and what has been the situation that has caused me sorrow. And when I repeatedly focus on what has gone wrong, that creates deep, deep sorrow, pain, and a deep wound in myself. And that hurt does not allow me to heal others. In fact, when I'm not able to forgive myself and others, what is my state of the mind at that time? What is happening inside?

All the wrong things that have happened, either it will be hatred, or there will be gossip or it will be rejection, or it will be avoidance, a feeling of staying away from them. All these are actually the doors to sorrow, and suffering for the self. But at that time when I am suffering, I am not able to give myself happiness, because I want happiness from others that I did not receive. I did not receive appreciation. Then I slander others; I gossip about others. Slandering has two meanings: one is slandering to gossip or to defame or insult others; the other is slandering to kill.

I am killing my own happiness. Although I think that I am doing right, I am not sowing the seeds of happiness. It's a very interesting story in Bhagavad (The Song of God, holy scripture of Hinduism), Shri Krishna married Tulsi. Tulsi is similar to basil. Tulsi is the plant that brings happiness and brings health for the body whole year-round. Tulasi dayana chodie, the gentleness and softness of the Tulsi plant is generating health. Shri Krishna, with his joyful and happy character, married Tulsi. How can you marry a plant? But we need to make the plant the companion in our heart; the plant which brings this freshness with joy and brings health and happiness. So if I am not be able to give myself my own inner health, I cannot be healthy outside, because all my physical disease, whatever karmic account I have created, is connected with my thinking. Whether it is pain, or any kind of sickness, it is not only just one birth, it is stored within for many, many births. I carry the sanskars with me. If I have made a mistake, I suffer too much; if others have made a mistake, I punish them. This is the thing: Either I punish myself and then when it becomes too much, I cannot take it anymore, I start punishing others. So, karmic account in a different way, either to avoid them, or discipline them, to reject them, or make them feel bad and feel sad. So, it begins to create more and more unhappiness in relationships with our own self, as well as the relationship with others.

Baba speaks about compassion and sympathy. You can forgive only when you have love. Love for what? Love for my own health, my own wealth, my own happiness, and also equally, love for those of others, of what others have. Giving is the sanskar of generosity, giving is royalty giving brings blessings. So, the accumulation of the account increases, you'll begin to receive automatically; it is not a question of praise, but it is the internal power within yourself, to accept yourself as you are, and accept others and respect your values, not with ego, but accept with humility. In today’s Murli, Baba also says, we need to see, to realise what level of purity I have reached. We have to reach the satopradhan stage, but still, we have not reached the sato or rajo stage.

Jealousy, hatred, competition, comparison, and expectation, all these are actually the property of the Copper Age; these sanskars are not of the Golden Age. So, where am I now when I look at myself? Okay vices are renounced, the gross form is gone, but the subtle seeds are there. That is when am cursing myself instead of getting blessing.

So, when I realised that I have love for myself, then the first thing would be, I closed the door, the door of suffering. When I open the door to the original property: sympathy, sampati (prosperity), Baba says, is your property. So, my door for future prosperity is also waiting, but I am able to use this prosperity now, what I have at this time Baba has given, and it begins with the power of love. And love actually means I stop performing the actions which cause me sorrow. In other words, I protect myself, not only myself, but I protect others. So let go, not to think again and again.

What Baba said yesterday, about the mistake we make, emerges in my mind: What you have to forget, you keep remembering, and what you have to remember, you forget. So, remember, remember. But instead of remembering, I am forgetting. But what am I forgetting? I am forgetting to remember Baba, with, even without knowing, because I am engaging myself in something else, which I don't have to remember. So, this does not allow me to open my heart, it does not allow me to have compassion for others, or to forgive them or forgive myself.

Why is Krishna called Shri Krishna? It is not about wearing the crown or nice dress or dancing. It's not the external thing. People in the theatre can dance better and play better music with more variety. It's about the music of harmony within my own self.

When my intellect has the understanding, that I have love for myself, I will have mercy for myself as well. Then, I will cooperate with yourself and am able to give the power of cooperation to others. First, I create happiness in my own home, then, whoever comes to my home, I can welcome them with happiness. If my own happiness is not there, internally, I feel that I am missing something, then, I will always see what is missing in others. When you see the good in yourself, you always see the good in others. So, it is checking myself, and enabling myself with that power. Baba says that we need to pay attention, that we don't take sorrow from others, and don't give sorrow to ourselves. When I start taking sorrow from others, what is happening? It means I am keeping and storing sorrow which I'm giving myself, then automatically, I would be giving sorrow, directly or indirectly, to others. So, the method to reach the level of mercy, or before that, first to reach the level of love, is to stop thinking of what has caused you pain. And then, remember what Baba has given us already, what I have received, what is the source of happiness. The source of happiness is not by expecting from others, that others give me something, because everyone is empty.

So, the intellect has to realise that on one side they are empty, and on other side, they are full because each soul is knowledgeful, peaceful, loveful, blissful and powerful. Since I also have these qualities, why am I a beggar then? I am knowledgeful, but I have to put a full stop, to be full. And then I feel empty, I want things from others. When I'm missing my self-respect, I want respect from others.

When I am in self-respect, automatically, this self-respect creates love, for my own peace, my happiness, and my dignity. And I am protected from being hurt, with the shield of self-respect, which is humility. Self-respect does not come from ego; self-respect is respecting my inner powers. and that comes only with humility. Otherwise, whilst making a little progress, I can easily go back to causing sorrow in body consciousness. This is why, soul consciousness with egoless stage, with virtues, my inner family, my external family, my contacts, my relations, everyone becomes happy when I am in a happy state of mind.

I remember a very interesting story. There was a moral in it. A holy man was sitting on the bank by the river. There, he saw a scorpion fall into the river. “Oh, poor scorpion.” He immediately put his hand in to pull the scorpion out. But the nature of the scorpion is the sting. He put down the scorpion and put some herbs for the pain. Then he came back and sat down. Again, the scorpion crawled over and fell into the water. Seeing this, the holy man, again, put his hand out to save the scorpion but got stung again. Three times it happened.

People said, Holy man, you are a wise person. Why don't you kill the scorpion?”

He said, “No, this is my teacher.”

“The scorpion is your teacher?”

“Yes, a teacher does not mean someone who gives me a lesson through words. A teacher means one who teaches me some lessons for my life. And this is the best teacher. I have learned three lessons.”

“What lessons have you learned?”

He says, “The first lesson is that I recognise my inner attention, my inner checking, my inner reality, my inner sympathy, my inner power. I was meditating on it. I realise it is my natural nature to save living beings. So, my hand automatically went in. It has created self-respect in me. That's something I can do naturally, even without thinking. Mercy and love are naturally there.”

He continued, “The second lesson I have learned is to forgive those who cause you sorrow. Those who are good with me, I'm good with them. But those who cause me sorrow, through defamation or disrespect, or rejection or gossip. In every relationship, there's a different kind of sorrow. A mother takes sorrow from the children in a different way; a father takes sorrow in a different way. In a family, we give sorrow to each other, not with the same soul; with different stones, we hit each other. In different relationships, each takes away the happiness of the other. Husband and wife, love, love, love, and then, fight, fight, fight, What is happening? Different stones are used to cause sorrow in different relationships. So, we have been using many different weapons to give sorrow. It is good to be good with others. But what about those who are not good with you? So, I realise that though the scorpion bit me, I have to let go and forgive him.”

Then, he said, “The third lesson I have learned is that, not only do we forgive, but we should forget that we have forgiven. When I keep saying I have forgiven, I have forgiven, who is actually talking inside me? My ego. I avoid, that is my weakness. But I forgive, that is pride. So, if I keep remembering that I have forgiven you. And I'm telling others that I have forgiven them, that it doesn't matter what they do, no matter what their behaviour was, no matter what they speak about it. I have forgiven them. Who is speaking in me? It's my ego, weakness or ego is the same thing.”

The others replied, “We can accept the first two lessons, but the third lesson, to forget? We are sensible human beings, we do remember. How can we forget?”

He said, “Forgetting means that whatever sorrow you have taken, that you have forgotten, you have healed yourself. So what I did was, that, every time I took the pain away from me. And I learned what I have realised about my own self.”

So, when you achieve something from a situation, and learn from something, automatically, you will forget the bad thing. And you will remember what lesson or what teachings or what gift I received in that situation, that helped me to progress. That is blessing yourself, not only the question of forgiving. You have gone to another level; you are actually blessing yourself because you are protecting yourself. And then with good wishes, you cooperate with others.

The sympathy you have for yourself: how many times I have failed in my subject, that I cannot forgive one other person by one mistake? Baba forgives me and still loves me, has hope for me, and doesn't give up on me. But when others make one or two mistakes, I remember their 20 mistakes, which are old mistakes and have already been finished. Then, I hurt myself. So, I was not knowledgeable. And I have realisation through looking at myself, knowing what my personality is, then I can automatically forget the weakness of others and focus on the weakness of myself. And then I can work on it. And my mind, my intellect, and my behaviour will be naturally harmonious.

There's no question of even forgiveness, it's a question of giving and receiving harmoniously with each other. And then, again, happiness comes, you begin to dance together; you begin to sing together. We associate Krishna with always dancing, singing and playing music. So, this is marrying the happy and healthy plant, sowing the inside the self, of receiving blessings, and giving blessings. Forgiveness comes automatically in it because that is the donation of the knowledge of the self. Gyan, dharna is everything for the self, and also for others. When I kill my own happiness, my peace, my harmony, my dignity, the whole world suffers because of these two things lacking: righteousness and truth are missing. When I recognise the truth, of qualities, the age of truth comes on this planet, that is, the world of happiness. Truth is not about proving to others. When we say truth, we immediately say that we will prove it is true. Not that truth; truth within my own self. And that truth is peace, love, purity, and happiness, and I check to what percentage I have reached; accordingly, I experience happiness. Otherwise, we are in a world of sorrow. So, Baba is taking us away from the world of suffering to the world of happiness, by having mercy on the self, forgiving the self, and giving others; it means receiving blessings from others.

Om shanti.

Sister Jayanti - 28th August 2022, GCH – London Soul, God and Karma

30 August 2022

In today’s murli they were celebrating Holi.   We heard the Shiv Ratri murli earlier and they had created a garden on the stage.  One day it was a scene of Heaven and another day a scene of the Subtle Region and today it is the scene of a garden and of course Baba is commenting that they have put in a lot of hard work and effort to create the beautiful garden and flowers. However,  Baba is more interested in the living flowers of His garden and so we are those living flowers and Baba has transformed us from thorns into flowers.  Something that cannot happen in the world out there but it happens with God’s magic in terms of the transformation of the human soul.

I am also reflecting on a whole year’s murlis that we have heard on the subject of tapasya.  Baba started it in October 1990 and from then on the murlis on tapasya continued in 1991.  1992 it is the end of that year of tapasya with Shiv Ratri and, just reflecting on what is the message that Baba has been giving us through all these murlis.   I am remembering that when people talk about the Shrimat Bhagwad Gita they say that the Gita is the text book for life in the sense that it teaches you how to live your life and there are three main subjects that the Gita takes up and they are the knowledge of soul, the knowledge of the Supreme Soul and karma philosophy.

When we think about all the knowledge that Baba has given us then we see how Baba’s knowledge is very much connected with these three topics and whatever is the text book, the Bhagwad Gita, and it is quite small, but then they give lots of commentaries and explanations etc and then it becomes bigger.   But Baba’s Murli is the real Gita.

God is here on the battlefield of karma with us, teaching us not to fight a battle but rather how to be able to come to that state of inner consciousness in which there is victory over all negativity and just as you don’t fight darkness to bring light - you just light a candle and the darkness disappears.  When Baba teaches us through the Murli He is not saying fight for this and that and with this one, He is saying all of this is not what belongs to you.  It is not part of your original state of being and so forget all of that and come back to the awareness of who you truly are and remember that you are a soul, your relationships are with God and then automatically the quality of your actions will change.

And then Baba has been explaining about gyan.  Very often He says all the gyan I am giving you is to enable you to have yoga and so even if you summarise the three things, soul, God and karma and you bring it down further to the essence, the whole subject is about yoga and so when Baba gave us a whole year for tapasya - and tapasya doesn’t mean sitting in a cave or locking yourself up in one room of the house and saying don’t disturb me I am in yoga.  Baba is saying my relationship with God should be the priority within everything else that I am doing and so the subject of karma yoga has been explained in a very beautiful way.

As you do your karma what is your consciousness as you are doing it?  What is the purpose of your doing karma yoga?   There have been thousands of years in which we did not understand the purpose of karma yoga or what our consciousness should have been and so there is a big backlog which has to be settled and cleared and so on one level yoga is to be able to clear the backlog but on another level yoga is the consciousness in which I do the karma that I am doing today so that I am earning a fortune for the future not just for half the cycle.

Baba has explained in sakar Murlis how, even in the Copper Age there isn’t really intense suffering.  It is a period in which we have fallen off the pedestal of purity and so we are getting sick, unhappy, but the suffering of kaliyug is an intense state which is very different to the Copper Age.

Even 600 years ago India was very different so just imagine how much stock of good karma Baba’s children have accumulated in Sangamyug that Bharat still has that condition.

It emphasises to me that the time to accumulate good karma is today, and in this short period of time we have to accumulate so much that definitely at least for 4,000 years and maybe even for 4,500 years we are able to experience  the benefit of it in some form or another and this is why Baba has been emphasising, and in today’s murli it is emphasised again, that it is yoga and karma.  It is never one alone.

I can’t say yoga, yoga, yoga.  Human beings need to be in action.  We are on the field of action.  We are engaged with each other and this becomes give and take with each other and so karma is what we are here for but the quality of karma is whether I am remembering Baba or my remembrance of Baba is such that the consciousness is being cleaned out and so it is never that I am doing karma for my own self to benefit, but the karma I am doing is service of others, and you can apply that to lokik life also – in a work situation for example.

We are at the end of kalyug and the majority of the worlds’ population has come onto the field of action, only since 1900.  If you look at the population figures before and after and you will see that most of the souls are very new souls.  They haven’t been around a long time and so they don’t know about God.  They don’t know about the secrets of karma the way we do and so whatever they are doing is their business.  It is not my business.

What I have to do is that if I am in the same situation as them I have to make sure that I am able to give them something.   Something from Baba’s peace, something from Baba’s love.  Something that  enables them to come back to some state of dignity and respect by giving them respect.  I mustn’t say they are kaliyug souls and I am not going to bother with them.  I have to make sure that the quality of my karma is based on my relationship with Baba because yoga and connection with God is the essence of everything and so can I make sure that the karma I am doing, whether it is in the lokik world or whether it is in Baba’s house, is only filled with God’s qualities and God’s love and power.  Love is one of the qualities and power is another but I am only emphasising those two out of all the other qualities.

There is respect, kindness, compassion - all of those are God’s qualities, but one other very major one of His qualities is forgiveness and in bhakti they remember God’s mercy, compassion and truth but they also remember God’s forgiveness.  Just imagine if in bhakti we didn’t have that faith and trust from last kalpa that yes, God truly can forgive.  How could we have survived.

We made a mistake and then we asked God for forgiveness.  The mix up comes when you go to a human being and you think that by giving that human being something you are going to be forgiven your mistake.  If I have erred against a human being and I go to them and ask for forgiveness - this is absolutely right.  It might take away some of their pain.  It could be too deep and they don’t want to forgive me.  But at least I can try that from my side.

But if I have done something and I go to a pundit or a priest or an agent in between thinking they can absolve me of my sins – that is where Baba says that your connection is with God and only God is the purifer and can absolve yo of sins, not a human beings.  God’s power and God’s love can forgive and purify.

In today’s murli Baba has focused a lot on the subject of Holi and taking up the word Ho li.

Whatever has happened it has gone, it has passed and so don’t waste your time and energy thinking about the past.  If you do you are missing out on the opportunity of being able to take what Baba offers now.  Just fill yourself with all of that so that then you can move on.

What are the chains that bind us to the past?  It is our karma, but whatever I did at that time I now have to sort that out with God’s help.  It is my thoughts that today are adding to the chains from the past, and so if I truly want to settle the past so that I can move forward, I am not doing anyone else a favour.  I want to fly and move forward today.  If there are chains holding me back how can I fly?

Many of Baba’s children have been practising yoga for a few years maybe but many of us for decades and we still have not got to the point where we can say yes, my yoga is how I would like it to be.

Ask Brahmins if they have any complaints and sometimes they will say I don’t have complaints about anyone else but I have a complaint about myself.  I am not able to have the quality of yoga that I would like to have.  This is often said.

Some say it the other way:  I think I am having yoga.  I am giving a lot of time to yoga but how come my sanskars are the same as they were yesterday, or last year or even before that.

Baba wants me to change every day and if I don’t, how am I going to get to my destination of satopradhan.  It is not possible.   And if I am still carrying the sanskars of the past then it is an indication that I am not having the fire of yoga that Baba wants me to have or that I want to have.

It is also true, unfortunately, that we still identify people with their nature.  This one has always been like this and always will be – like a curse, underlining their negative sanskar.   I am not giving them good wishes or support for transformation.   What is it doing to me.  It means that my thoughts are still connected with the past and I am creating more and more chains on myself and so what are the quality of my thoughts today:  are they pure, are they in God’s remembrance, are they in the awareness of who I truly am? Is it with recognition that the Brahmins that I am interacting with our future deities.  Am I seeing them with that awareness?

Tapasya is only possible when my thoughts are focused on the inner being, the soul, and I am concerned about my transformation and moving forward.

Baba says have good wishes for all, but if they are not filled with good wishes and I am taking sorrow from the past then that is interference in my tapasya.

Baba has said very clearly today that there is one mistake that we make and it sounds in words like a good mistake but it is the biggest mistake of all because it creates the most upheaval and that is we forget the things that we are supposed to remember and remember the things that we are supposed to forget.  It sounds simple and basic but how often do I consciously remember that I am a shining star and see you as shining stars and how often does it fly out of my mind and I see you as a brother or sister.  Don’t even see each other as brother and sister but as a shining star. And I am supposed to remember Baba and I say I forgot.  I got so engaged in my work and Baba slipped away somewhere and so where are my thoughts going?

I need to forget all the things that occupy space in my head.  Either I haven’t forgiven others their mistakes or I am also holding on to my own mistakes and I am carrying the burden of that.

And so the big story of being able to put a full stop and Baba said recently and also today, don’t just put a stop.  Put a full stop.  Not a partial stop.  A full stop.  Connected with not letting go of the past is that it is the cause of other waste thoughts:  why, what, how, if, but.  Little words but think about it.

Every time I have this question why, how many waste thoughts does it generate.  It seems a huge amount and it is creating loss of time, loss of energy, loss of purity.  More negativity is coming in and it is not allowing me to do what I need to do now and now is my time to create my fortune for 4,500 and maybe for even 5000 years and so I need to be very aware of the consciousness with which I engage with karma, and all those other things that interfere with my karma.

I have all these waste thoughts and then when I see you what do I think about.  I need to have the attitude of brotherly love and so what I can do today to reinforce my tapasya is to make sure that in the time when I am not sitting down in yoga, at that time through all the things that I am doing for myself -  lokik work or service, pay attention to my consciousness at that time and that is going to enable my tapasya to be stronger.

So karma yoga.  Karma consciousness and then yoga, my connection, and then yoga in action.  Action in yoga but yoga in action and both of these things are reminding me of the same thing.  The quality of my awareness as I engage on the field of action and more and more Baba is bringing us to the point of reminding us that we have a short time to become karmateet and settle everything and accumulate what I need to accumulate.

So in terms of karmateet - every time I have waste thoughts about someone or another I am adding to my Karma.  It is more burden that I now have to clear and the burden of the present is greater than the burden of the past because now I have gyan.  Now I understand yoga and if I am still going in the opposite direction then Baba is going to say: child when you didn’t know, you said sorry Baba, I didn’t know, but now that you know, what excuse do you have now.  Now there are no excuses.   So Holi - forget the past and focus on God’s company.

At Holi they colour people with colours and Baba says there is one colour that is the strongest colour of all.  Fast colour.  A colour that will not run.  A fast colour stays and does not run into other clothes that are in the washing.

So the fast colour is God’s company and it colours you with God’s qualities and so the more I stay in companionship with Baba and that colour of His companionship will colour me and will stay.

It is amazing how Baba gives us so much knowledge.  The Ocean, and then Baba also condenses it to its essence so that we can use it and practise it because on the field of action we can’t remember a whole murli and it is time to act right now.  The churning should have happened before and now it is time to act. If I remember the essence on the field of karma then the good karma will begin to accumulate and it applies everywhere.  Here, outside, anywhere.  I just have to be very aware of what is my consciousness, my stage and if it slips away from soul consciousness there is going to be a problem.  A big or a little thorn.  Something or other.

Om Shanti

Sudesh Didi – 24th August 2022 Morning Class, GCH, London: To share love and happiness is real service

4 September 2022

Om shanti. There is a difference between mercy and love. Mercy means help; mercy means cooperation. Mercy is when you see that there is weakness, sickness, or poverty; when someone is in a state of degradation, or distress, mercy is the last source. When you have mercy for someone, you want to give them immediate help; you want to save them. Mercy is for after a situation has happened when damage has been done. When you are wealthy, no one will need to have mercy on you. But if you have love, you would want to make the poor become wealthy.

Parents do not have mercy on their child; parents have love for the child. They give money; they give time; they give energy; they give their whole life. Similarly, the conference age, you can see that the devotees get mercy and children get love. Baba says, “I love you, so, do not ask for mercy. I am preparing you, not only I love you, the whole world will love you. Not only will they love you, they will worship you, respect to you and follow you.

This is His love, but it is in the packet of knowledge. First, Baba gives knowledge. Through knowledge. we are able to understand where we were and where we have reached. From satopradhan (completely pure), we now become tamopradhan (completely impure). And tamopradhan has to become satopradhan again. But how? By keeping the consciousness of my original stage of being satopradhan. Where I was, I have to reach that goal. So, we need to have a clear goal, first of all, though it is the last mantra, but that is the first mantra. Just like in a school, in the college, in the university, you have a goal to achieve, a degree to become a surgeon, an engineer or a pilot. You have a goal first. And then you start to work towards it. Study, exercise, practice, developing skills and specialities, everything.

So, the first mantra is Hum so, so hum, I was that I will become that, I am that. For that I need effort. When I see that the clothes have become dirty, I want to clean it. I want to clean it because I realise that it was clean before. I know it was clean before, I’ve got to make it clean again. So, now that we realise, we were pure, we were divine and elevated, we want to become that elevated and pure again.

How do I become pure and elevated again? By remembering, though you don't become pure instantly. It is the method. Baba gives the strength. Through Manmanabhav (fix the mind on One), He gives the aim of Madhyajibhav (see the one in the middle, that is, Vishnu), so we can keep the goal whilst performing actions. It is not just the mantra of Manmanabhav alone; these two mantras are together. So, the aim and objective is clear, what do you have to do, you put that into action and Baba gives you strength for your actions.

So, through remembrance, I create confidence and self-respect. Through the power Baba gives, you have intoxication and determination; you know who is inspiring you, and you know the method to become because Baba teaches us. This is your birthright, and through this, you become worthy. He teaches us how to become pure through actions. This is His love. He does not have to give mercy, but it is love that makes you.

Mercy is temporary support. You are sick; you don't have money, someone has mercy can pay the bill in the hospital. This is mercy. Someone who is blind has difficulty crossing the road, you hold their hand and take them across the road. If someone is poor and hungry, you have mercy and give them some food. This is temporary support.

Mercy is temporary; love is permanent. Baba helps us remove difficulties, but He also takes the responsibility and gives energy for the future as well. This is God’s Love. And for that, He has to give the whole knowledge. Therefore, He gives us knowledge of the whole cycle, the understanding of the cycle of how we go through different stages. Then, we perform actions, based on the knowledge of karma philosophy. It is not that God's mercy will do everything. Everything is connected with action. Don't ask for blessing and don't ask for anything. Baba does not do bribery. Human beings accept the reward offered to them and then they do the job. Baba does not do that. You also remember that you do not receive in this way. You have to perform actions.

Performing actions in remembrance and remembrance in action. One is physical action; when we are in this household, a householder, we perform physical actions. It is my house; I have to clean it using my physical organs. Through action, we eat, wash clothes and clean the house. To clean is an action. The house is dirty; I have to clean it. So, actions in remembrance are, whilst cleaning, I put that energy that I am not disturbed. It is not that I get angry when somebody has made a house dirty. When one gets cross and gets into a fight, “I cleaned it, and you have immediately made it dirty again. I put everything in order you have disordered it again.” I have to redo it, and I have to remember to do it with silence. I have to do this. I have to do it with patience. I put power into my actions.

Yoga in action is when you put power in action afterwards, the remembrance of virtue, like the remembrance of patience. It is to put the power of virtues based on my foundation of purity in order to help. Through pure consciousness, we apply the virtues.

Action in yoga is different. When you are in a temple, you are a saligram, you are a soul. The soul is doing action but the statues doing certain action. So, I the soul, as saligram, am also doing action. The soul means mind and intellect and sanskaras. So, in that my actions, it is as though I'm sitting in meditation when I'm doing action. Who is acting? The soul is acting, but the reflection is through the features: the expression is through the eye; the joy through stability. So, they are also actions and expressions. Thought is an action; drishti is action; vibration is action. So, you are immersed in that already. It is like something is already in a pot. In the pot, there is honey. When you put something into the pot of honey, it brings out the sweetness having absorbed the honey. It is different when something is in the pot, dried, and then, you add honey in it.

So, Baba mentions the difference between the two today. So, and there is deep consciousness, then internally, you are peaceful, loveful, powerful, joyful, and always cheerful. With your cheerful face, you can do the highest service. It is not smiling superficially because of my duty as a flight attendant, and the passengers are coming.
