Sudesh Didi – 27th March 2022 Sunday Morning Class - GCH, London The qualities and the sustenance of nine mothers

31 March 2022

Om Shanti. Om Shanti.

Aaj kaun sa din hai? (What day is it today?)

(Audience say: Happy Mother’s Day)

Shakti kya karenge? Mothers kya karenge? (What will the Shaktis do? What will be mothers do?) Happy Mother's Day. Who are happy? Brothers are happy, because if there were no mothers, how could we have brothers here? So, this is why Happy Brothers Day.

In fact, the character of a mother, her quality, her responsibility, her personality is so great that even God cannot stop Himself from being called the Mother. God is also known as the Mother and the Father. Tumane mata-pita ham baalak tere (You are the Mother and Father, and we are Your children). So, God also first becomes a Mother. The wonder is, generally, a male is not a mother. A male is a male, but the wonder of God's creation is…what is it? How are we born? How are you brothers born? Pandavas are born, Shaktis are born, Brahma Kumars and Kumaris are born…how? Through the male mother.

Is Brahma a female mother or a male mother? So, this shows the character and personality of the neutral power of all the qualities, which are in the soul, atma. Atma is female and soul is male. Baba always says atma in Sanskrit is female gender. And Baba says but the soul is male because it's worthy to claim the inheritance. But this female gender is needed, that is, these qualities of a mother are needed, because God also needs mother, otherwise He could not create the creation.

It is known as the physical mothers’ Mother's Day. But it is not only just the praise of one physical mother, in fact, it is the praise of the quality of sustenance, the quality of inner strength, the power of matter, nature. This is why Shiva is not alone; the praise is Shiva Shakti. It's always combined as Shri Lakshmi and Shri Narayan; first Lakshmi, then Narayan; first Sita, then Ram; first Radhe, then Krishna. It is the quality of the soul, atma. When the soul takes a costume; you wear the dress and play the part. The focus is on that part that you play on this unlimited stage.

So today is the day not only of being a physical mother of some children, but it is the day which is reminding us to become the embodiment of nine mothers. Nine different characters and nine different praises or names are associated with the mother gender. Of course, God is praised as the Mother. When Jagdamba Ma, we used to say, “Mama, you are Jagdamba.” And Mama said, “Remember Chamakeela Mata,” Bright Mother, Shining Mother, then Brahma Shiva Supreme Father. First, He is the Mother because first is love. Although He comes and relates knowledge, what is it that brings Him here. It is the love for the children. It is His mercy for the souls, to liberate them. He comes to give, to create a new creation, to create a new world, Srishti. He enables the total transformation of the world. His love and mercy for the children, is by giving them liberation and empowering them with these qualities. God is the Father, yet He has the qualities of a mother, of love and power. So, Shiva is the Bright Mother. Then Mama said, “I am Brahma’s daughter. I am the daughter, and Brahma is the mother.”

Brahma is the big mother. Through Brahma’s Mukhvanshaavali (mouth-born creation), we are the mouth born progeny of Brahma. He is also playing the roles of the mother and father. This became so clear when Mamma left body, Baba started taking care; giving care, extra attention, extra love, to sustain the children.  He could feel that we were missing the mother, Mamma's sustenance. Then, Shiv Baba reminded us that we were born through Brahma’s mouth. He said, “Don't think that your mother has gone, your mother is here. So, the brothers, or the fathers, also have the qualities of love and care. They are motherly qualities.

So, Shiva the Bright Mother, Brahma Baba the big mother Jagdamba the world of mother. The fourth mother: when we come on this corporeal world, thanks to the physical mother. A mother is actually the first teacher of the child, sustaining her own child. She gives whole energy and power in every aspect. So, women are the wisdom of men. Of course, when her son is bright, sparkling, and moving forward, the mother is happy. Where did the children get their sustenance from? So, thanks to the mothers on Mother's Day.

Here I see, today, is a double gathering. It is Double Mothers’ Day because today is also the anniversary of Dadi Janki, a very powerful mother, Shiv Shakti. We have a line of Shiv Shakti mothers: Dadi Prakashmani, Dadi Janki, Jagdamba, and others. How many mothers do we have in the auditorium today? Can the mothers, please stand? Salutations to the mothers. Stand up, please. (All applauded.) Happy Mother's Day! Salutations to the mothers. Shiv Shakti Army. So, this is known as Shiva Shakti Army.

Mothers are always content, and the brothers are always ahead. So, Brahma’s arms, the Pandavas, empower the army. It is clear that, first comes Shiva Shakti Army, then Pandav Army. But it is the spiritual power, the Godly power, the divine power and in soul consciousness. This can be imbibed; being a neutral energy, and yet, a powerful form of Shiv Shakti, presents in this corporeal form. So, thanks to the lokik mother, who became an instrument for this costume, that we, sons or daughters, could experience and express ourselves through this costume, through this body.

There is another aspect: Chamakeela Mata, Brahma mother, Jagdamba mother, physical mother, who is the fifth mother? Drama Mother. In the play on this earth, Drama mother is a very powerful mother, massages the children; very powerful massage, making the bones very strong. Those who have learned to play with this Mother Drama, and understand the signals and the secret of drama never be afraid, never get upset. No matter what scenes and situations come, they remain a detached observer and play an active, powerful act.

One can only become Shiv Shakti when they are very clear about the knowledge of drama. Then, during situations, there are questions of “Oh what is happening? How this can happen?” A thought comes, but immediately the outcome will be Wah, wah. Why why why why… No, no, because why why makes you cry and wah makes you fly. This is why when we really enjoy drama, there are no questions.

What is the proof of drama? The realisation of this Drama Mother is so deep, that we say once more, once more, once more. Hum so, so hum, I was that, I want to become that again. It has to repeat. Otherwise, how can we make the mantra of hum so, so hum powerful? I was that, I will become that.

Yesterday, Mamma reminded us of this mantra, of not only just Om Shanti, and not Shiva Hum, I not am Shiva; I am the child of Shiva, and I am a divine being.

Who is the sixth mother? The Mother Nature. You see the beauty of the Mother Earth. If a mother Earth are not there, how could the baby body, which comes through the mother and father be sustained? How can a mother give sustenance to a baby? The whole system is through the Mother Earth: what we eat, how our system becomes balanced, we receive spiritual sustenance as well as what Mother Earth is providing. So, the praise is of the Mother Earth, Prakruti Ma.

Who is the seventh mother? Gita Ma.  Baba says, “You are born through Brahma.” In fact, it is the wisdom of Shiva Baba that created the Gita. The more you understand the Murli, understand the wisdom given by God, the more powerful you remain. You become Vikram, you become divvy buddhi (divine intellect). This is why Sarswati has a divine intellect. How? It comes from Gita Mata. It reveals the secret of the life; it reveals the secrets of the drama; it reveals the part that we play in this physical world.

Who is the eighth mother? Ganga Maiya (Mother Ganges). She's also a mother, praised as Ganga, purifying flow of the energy. Mother River, or Ganga Maiya, is a purifying energy, clarifying everything, changing the atmosphere. So, Shiv Shaktis are really Gyan Ganga (River of Knowledge).

Then there are all the other mothers. It is on the path of bhakti (devotion), that praise is amongst all the animals. It is such a sustaining powerful energy, that cows are mothers. Here in the west, the idea of mothers as cows is not appreciated or not understood as how it is understood in Bharat. Gau Mata (Mother Cow) not only just gives milk, but every part of her body sustains; even her by-products. Cow dung is a very powerful manure for the fields. It (Panchagavya incense made by desi cow dung) is also used to remove bad omen to create a powerful atmosphere. And this is why in Feng Shui, it is considered as purifying. Everything, even the urine of a cow (Gomutra) is considered medicine. So, in the same way, the mothers give everything: time, energy, and all the qualities, such as tolerance, patience, abundance and sustenance.

Then, Shiva sees that mothers gradually develop one weakness. What is it? There is very great great praise of the mothers. So what is it that mothers develop? Attachment. Is there some attachment? How can mothers break their attachment? Baba is very clever. He makes the mothers into kumaris. Brahma Kumaris. One is kumaris and the other is mothers. Mothers say my, my, my. This word ‘my’ makes them cry. What can I do? My husband is like this. What can I do? My children are troublesome. What can I do? My problems are so much. What can I do? I don't know. Why, why is it happening? So, they cry because of attachment. Baba says, “Brahma Mata Nahin.” What are you? (Someone answered, “Brahma Kumaris.”) Brahma Kumaris. Kumari means no Bimari (illness).  Kumari koe bimari nahnin. Understand? That one is kumari. This weakness and sickness of attachment is gone because I don't have worries, I don't have children. I don't have anyone who is controlling me. I am free. I am Shiv Shakti. Baba makes the mothers into kumaris; Brahma Kumaris. Bimari bhee khatm, kamzori bhee khatm (Sicknesses finish; weaknesses also finish.) They finish when you become Brahma Kumari, and when you become Gyan Ganga, the flow of energy moves so fast, that it creates the atmosphere. Isalie (This is why) then, you become Shiv Shakti, the destroyer of all the obstacles.

This is why, Baba comes and changes the consciousness, so that the weakness finishes, the sickness finishes. And here, you become the embodiment of power. That power is remembered, not only with one name, but every virtue and every power is associated with a goddess. So, Brahmin, Gyan Ganga, Brahma Kumari, Shiv Shakti, is keeping the balance of knowledge and dharna (inculcation of virtues), and then sharing without this consciousness of ‘I, my and why’. I, my and why; you never cry, you continue to fly, and then, life is freedom, angelic stage, and you become farishta (angel). So, what is the meaning of paree aur farishta (divine angel and angel from beyond)? Farishta is neither male nor female. Is farishta a male? Is farishta female? Farishta is beyond, beyond I, I, I.

What am I, eventually? I, the soul, Shiva Shakti, Pandav Army. It is also said my Mother Shiva Shakti. So, empowering the self, empowering others. This is the quality of mothers, empowering the self, empowering others; serving the self, serving others This is called freedom and lightness. So, Shiv Shaktis, today is Mother's Day, freedom and lightness; happy and play.  Play with happiness, sing with happiness. Wah, mothers, wah. Happy Mother's Day. Om shanti.

From Amrit Vela time, from two o'clock today, the mothers had started. You know what time the kitchen started? So early. Three o'clock. Mothers were present here, to help to prepare bhog. Brothers were present to support. So, it's a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful day. And today, it coincides with Dadi Janki’s Day. Let us now see the Mother Dadi Janki, Mother Shiv Shakti. (The class watches Madhuban’s transmission of Shakti’s Stumbh memorial.)

Sudesh Didi – 13th March 2022 Sunday Morning Class - GCH, London Baba is Coming

23 March 2022

Om Shanti. Om Shanti. Good morning.

Confluence Age is an auspicious age, Diamond Age. In Diamond Age, every moment, every second, every breath, every thought, is as valuable as a diamond because the One who makes our lives, who transforms us from shells into diamonds is, Himself, coming to meet the children. What a great fortune to celebrate the meeting with the Beloved One. Avyakt, yet, the experience of having a heart-to-heart conversation, the experience of the original qualities of the self, because Baba’s Drishti, is a magical drishti, a powerful drishti. Through this drishti, we recognise; Baba also opens our divine drishti as well. The atmosphere changes immediately because of the pure vibrations in that drishti, in that thought, in that atmosphere, spreads like fragrance. Invisible, but very much visible; cool, fresh air, touching the heart of pure love, selfless love. This, in turn, generates in us, our selfless love and self-respect; reminding us who we are and of the One who is not a Guest, but comes as a Guest. But at the same time, He says “I am the Host because I invite you first.” it is the respect for us, a great intoxication that Baba is making us worthy, prosperous, in which unlimited treasures of purity and peace.

As soon as the soul recognises who I belong to, the qualities of the self automatically begin to sparkle. It is just like a spark of a matchstick or a candle. The wick is connected with the candle. It is there in the candle but it is not visible until it is ignited. So, Baba reminds us, ignites us by coming Himself, and making us aware of, not only just connection, but our relationship with Him; not only in relationship with Him, but the rights we have through this relationship. Not only just one relationship, whatever is needed in this world in a variety of contexts and relationships; in One, everything, every wish is fulfilled; every thought becomes powerful.

The soul is blessed; the relationship with the Father, the rights, and the intoxication. Instantly, the soul becomes aware, as the Wisdom of the wise connects with us and our own divine intellect opens. In the relationship of the Satguru, we follow His Shrimat; stay obedient and faithful. He showers blessings upon us. Last time, Baba said He was showering every child in the form of love. And you can see that His love is unlimited, selfless love, which removes all longing to receive love from a human being.

It is the awareness of the self, which creates love for the self. God's selfless Love ignites the love in us, for ourselves. What is the meaning of love for ourselves? That's one with self-respect. We begin to recognise how beautiful, how lovely, and how great we are. We were and we are the children of God. We were but we had forgotten. We had lost that kingdom, we had lost that dignity, we had forgotten that original qualities of ourselves; something which is there, in our bank, in our personality. It is already deposited, but we cannot cash it. We become beggars, saying, “Please give us peace, give us happiness.” Instead of being a child of the Almighty Authority, and having this intoxication that these are my personal property; God’s property is my property. My Father's property, His sanskaras are my sanskaras. Naturally, it is the realisation of the relationship that ignites our own personality of purity, of divinity, of royalty, because the soul is aware of its original qualities of the self, as Baba comes and all this is His personality. His power becomes real and He is taking the support of matter. So, when Baba incarnates, we can experience the qualities through matter. How? You can see when Baba came through Gulzar Dadi; we met, we experienced; we felt. As soon as Baba came into the whole hall (Diamond Hall), the atmosphere, the vibrations, there was total silence and stillness, though so many activities were taking place. There was a lot of anxiety outside. Through every door, souls wanted to enter and wanted to get a seat, to be in front of Baba, or to see the screen, to be in front of the screen. On one side, there was a lot of anxiety, on the other side, a lot of stillness, silence, attention, and connection. The vibration is like magnetic energy which is attracting everyone. Baba is coming soon! Baba is coming soon! And today is the same. In fact, Baba is coming; Baba is coming. We are not only calling Him but in fact, we are already experiencing when He comes in practical form, even though He uses the matter.

My personal experience of Tennyson Road, when the translight picture of Brahma Baba came to London. In fact, when Dadi Janki was leaving Madhuban for London, the one thing she told BapDada was that she would miss Baba’s Room because in Baba’s Room, she felt that if she wanted to ask anything. Baba would give her an answer. If there was any service plan, Baba immediately touched the intellect and said yes, go ahead with this. Any situation that was going to come, Baba would signal that as well and would give caution. It is just like direct communication and conversation, especially sitting in Baba’s Room.

Baba said, “Child, you create Baba’s Room in London. So, Dadi came with this thought, but there was no translight. There was only one translight in Madhuban, because Brahma Baba did not allow his photographs to be taken. Some foreigners wanted to take Baba’s photo at that time. Some were from America, some were from London, so some photos were actually taken at that time.

I remember my lokik family, my parents, my brother and sister, came to Madhuban. Baba said photos were not allowed. He would say, “Are you devotees that you want a picture?” We were very faithful and very obedient. Baba says no pictures, so you do not take his photograph. I remember my brother had a camera. And he wanted to take the photograph. And we were sitting and Baba had a nice conversation, with us being physically near. My brother was excited and took out his camera. But I said, “No, no. You cannot take his photographs.” It was clear in the mind that Brahma Baba did not want his pictures. When the Trimurti picture was made, one photo was taken; the artist painted Baba’s picture from this photo. After that, many pictures were also created after Brahma Baba became Avyakt. Very few pictures are available in History Hall. When someone from abroad was leaving, and Baba knew that they wanted to take a photo as a memorial, Baba was detached from that.

So anyway, what I want to say is there was no translight. Only one picture was made into translight. Then, according to drama, this new frame was made in Madhuban and this silver frame we still have, was a little bit bigger than the size of Brahma Baba’s original translight picture.

Anyway, then, that picture was free and we got the new picture as London received it as a gift. This is the original picture of Brahma Baba. So, Dadi Janki sat with us, who were the residents of Tennyson Road, and had a meeting to discuss where to keep Baba’s translight picture. At that time, we were aware that we did not want any picture because others might say, “Are you following your guru?” We still had that concern in mind. So in the first meeting, it was just yes, no, yes, no. We did not say no and not agree. Then, there was a second meeting took place. Eventually, it was decided not to keep it downstairs in Tennyson Road. But we could keep this picture in Baba’s Room upstairs where the Hindi class took place.

So, we kept the picture in the corner where everyone could see it. Those who wanted to go and understand, could go into Baba’s Room. Those who were new in gyan, we did not take them upstairs. We conducted meditation downstairs and sent them away.

In 1976, Gulzar Dadi came. At that time, Baba’s Room was there, and this translight was kept in Baba’s Room. My room, which was a single bedroom, was offered to Dadi Gulzar. I slept on the floor in Baba’s Room. At the time, we could sleep anywhere on the floor.

At night, around 1:30am, I suddenly saw someone moving. It was not a dream, but a real experience. I got up and I felt Baba Baba was here. I had the thought that others would be coming to the room for Amrit Vela soon, but I felt Baba was there. As soon as my attention went, a shadow went into this translight picture. So, I sat down, and there was a special experience of understanding this sound with the message saying: Child, I was taking the support of matter before. Now, I am also taking the support of matter. Brahma’s account with the matter of this body has finished, but my account has not finished with my children.” I was taking the support of matter, which means Brahma’s body. And now, I am also taking support of matter. I immediately realised that this translight is also matter. I realised that so many of the different experiences through Brahma Baba picture: sometimes he is smiling; sometimes his drishti is very strong; sometimes it's a feeling of movement and one or two sisters will feel that Baba is calling them and Baba reaches out his arms, that they are being invoked and embraced by Baba; some are hearing sound. I see now, I understand that it is a subtle energy. He is taking the support of matter. And Baba says, “For me, this is also matter.”

This was a very, very clear kind of experience, I was taking the support of matter and this is also the support of matter. The difference is that you have to go beyond matter, you have to be soul conscious. The moment you are in soul-consciousness, and the energy of love is ignited, communication takes place; conversation takes place; the intellect is able to catch Baba’s directions. This hesitation was because of the concern about what the foreigners would say, and if people would say that we were worshipping our guru, we are worshipping physical form; this thought disappeared instantly from that time.

Baba is Baba. We are invoking but Baba is also incarnating, connecting His energy with matter. And this is what we now see through Gulzar Didi, when Avyakt Baba was there, through Dadi Gulzar’s physical body. As soon as Avyakt BapDada was present, incarnated, that means coming in this corporeal form, the vibrations, the drishti, the aura, the smile, the stability, the detachment and power, all became so clear and the powerful impact of it filled the whole atmosphere. 20,000 were sitting, well, as many as it could sit, with the gallery (balcony). The house was full, outside was also filled with so many. But this vibration of silence and peace was there. Baba’s drishti, even now, we can see through Baba’s videos, there are many moments like this when you feel Baba has given personal drishti to you. There are certain sentences, it's not the whole Murli is actually going here, but few words and few sentences are so connected that it is answering what the soul had been wishing. Just like Sakar Murlis give the answer to the questions in our mind, like from yesterday or the day before yesterday, we had a thought, we were having conversations, we were having communication with each other, and there was the feeling of confusion and doubt, as to whether it was right or not. The next day, the answer is there in the Murli. There is a problem within ourselves, which we do not want to share with others. Here Baba is saying, “I'm hearing you.” That day, in one way or another, Baba was sharing about the incident and then answered as if He has heard this, though it can be a Murli from 40 years to 50 years ago that is printed there. As it is the truth of the self, Baba once again connects that energy, it becomes real, touching us.

Now, we have the experience through Gulzar Dadi. It is a special gift. Baba is coming but how is it visible? It is the experience that makes this real, because it is not something you see with the eyes. And yet, you see with the eye of the mind, with the light of love, with the power of faith, with concentration, with the real deep desire to meet Baba. So, the difference is according to how much energy level we are able to absorb, which you are able to connect; how much the power of my own bulb is, for me to get this light from the Generator. It is according to my capacity.

A generator is given as the energy for everyone; the sun has power for everyone, but how much I am there in that atmosphere. And so, meditation, knowledge Baba is giving every day, and the power of yoga, which we are practising every day, is also increasing our energy and our capacity to receive more and more. It also depends upon how much my container is able to take. The ocean is unlimited. Do I just go for a walk and feel fresh I have been to the ocean? Or do I swim? Or do I have a good a nice, deep, good experience with the different benefits from the ocean? Or am I diving deep? Or am I using it as my business, and am I using my ship to earn money? Or am I enjoying it? So, it is the same thing, the difference depends on how you use it, how you enjoy it.

So, now, with the relationship with Baba, what I want to say is, what relation do I have with Baba? Do I have that intoxication? Do I have this faith of He as my Father or as my Teacher, as my Satguru, as my Friend, as my Beloved, as my Companion? Whatever is the focus of the relationship, the quality, the power the soul receives is accordingly.

It is two-way communication. He is always giving, but it is how much I am receiving that strengthens the soul. This consciousness, faith, and intoxication make it a real experience. Today is a very auspicious day of meeting Baba again. The song was very reminding me, that Baba says, “Children, My Home is also open. Welcome, welcome.” When you invite a very royal person or a VIP, you first go visit and invite. In the early days, when Thursday bhog was offered.  At Amrit Vela,  we Would we go in Baba’s Room, and we would say, “Baba, I have come to invite you to accept bhog. This is invoking and inviting Baba, and Baba then, connects us. So, the experience before Baba comes, is based on which relationship I have with Baba.

Om shanti.

Sister Jayanti – 2nd January 2022 - Revision of Avyakt Murli 31st December 2021

15 March 2022

Om Shanti. So, the Tower of Peace behind you.

Sr Aruna: I want to say that it's real. It's not a graphic. I have the fortune of being in Madhuban – and lovely to be here of course – and it's actually business as usual. There are bhattis going on, retreats going on, and, yes, each place…I went to Gyan Sarovar a couple of days and each place is still sparkling, still powerful, still active, busy. A new group came today for the Bhatti – they've been coming slowly since the morning – so they'll be here three days, and yes, just a lovely vibe. Nothing has changed here. So those of you who are back there thinking, do we still have a Madhuban? We still have a Madhuban and it's still the same and powerful, and actually Sheilu bhen was going to join and say hello, but I think maybe after. So, yes, Jayanti bhen, over to you. Thank you for being with us.

Om Shanti and a very Happy New Year to everyone, and I hope the year has started well. I know we had Baba's murli on the evening of the 31st, and so that started the New Year beautifully, of course, and I hope that continues through the whole year. Baba was seeing the children's faces sparkling with love, the love of God, and also Baba could see that what had brought all the children from many lands to Bharat at that time was the chariot of love, the flying vehicle of love, so Baba appreciated that, and said you're not only here to celebrate the new year, but what has brought you to Madhuban is the attraction of the new world, and Baba gave congratulations for three different reasons, and it's worth exploring each one of these.

Firstly, congratulations for a new life, and then secondly, congratulations for the new age that's coming, and thirdly, congratulations for the meeting of Baba and the divine family. So, I was thinking well, to what extent do I appreciate my new life, and where would I be if Baba hadn't found me and given me this new life? It would have been a very sad situation, a very sorry condition that I would have been in, like the world struggling and crying out, but here I am happy and content, experiencing God's love and a new beginning. And then, yes, the beauty of the new age is there in front of us – I don't just mean external beauty which, of course, being satopradhan everything there does have natural beauty – but I'm thinking the beauty of unity, the beauty of companionship and friendship, and loyalty and truth, and joy and love. So, all those beautiful things exist in that new world, that new age. From the moment we found Baba, we also found our beautiful family, so it's been a real treasure to be able to not only know God but to also come to this unlimited family, and to know that each one is my sister and my brother. So, congratulations for all three. Then Baba said, people don't just congratulate each other for the new year, they bid farewell to the old, and they welcome in the new, but they also bring gifts to each other, and so what is the gift that Baba has brought for you? It's the gift of the golden age, the beautiful new world; and Baba, the only one who can give that, who has the authority – God's authority – to be able to give you the gift of the new world, and a very lovely summary of everything that happens in the new world. Baba said, you have the gift of a world in which nothing is unavailable for you.

Just imagine! Here – no matter how much somebody has in terms of external wealth or possessions or property – there's still the hunger, the desire: I want more, I want more. But there, Baba gives us so much, so much, that there's total contentment, and there's nothing more left to be desired, but I think actually that statement applies now to Sangamyuga also. For each one of us, Baba has given so much – what more do we desire? Then Baba said, you have this experience that now your duty, your responsibility, is to share this gift with the whole wide world, and Baba was feeling very merciful and compassionate, and benevolent, and so saying, Baba doesn't want anyone to get left behind; Baba wants no one to miss out; no one to complain that you never told me, you had the good news that the golden age is coming; that God is here to give us our birthright, give us a right to heaven; and you never told me. Baba really was encouraging us to ensure that no one gets left behind, no one is left out. Baba uses the expression twice, “no one left behind”. First it was in the context of people out there, that haven't yet received Baba's message, and then later on, it was in the context of the BK family. Baba wants everyone to have that higher state of self-respect with which Baba is seeing them and no one should be left behind. And I was thinking that, it's the mantra that people at the UN now use: let there be such sustainable development that no one is left behind. But of course, for them it's a slogan and for Baba it's from Baba's heart and it becomes a reality, but surely no one will be left behind, either out there or within the family, but it's the same expression – Baba started using it in the 80s, just imagine – and the world has only recently started using that slogan and is only now catching up.

Baba also knows that not everyone wants the gift of heaven, and our job is to offer it first, but if they are not interested, that's also okay; there are other treasures that Baba has given us that we can offer them. So firstly, the treasure of the virtues: one of those virtues that they're missing is something that they also want, and so think about that quality, that virtue, that value that would benefit this individual now. But also help them prepare for the future, because in the future they will have those virtues and qualities, but see what it is they would appreciate now and give them that quality, but also give them one of your stock of powers – and hopefully I’ve accumulated all the powers – so that if somebody lacks tolerance, let me give it to them as a gift from Baba; if someone lacks the power to discern, again, as an instrument, let me be able to share that as a gift with them. So, no one gets left out, no one gets left behind, and Baba's message is able to reach every corner everywhere. Baba's saying it's time for you to emerge that form of being merciful and benevolent, so that you're able to be Baba's instrument to give everyone something, something, something. Then the dharna came, and Baba saying: Baba's seeing that still instead of being soul conscious, children are still very much trapped by body consciousness; and then children say: but you know what can we do, we've had it for so long? And Baba's picking up on that and saying that: well, just as you had body consciousness for half a cycle and that became your natural nature, can you not now remember that you were soul conscious for half the cycle, and so that is actually your natural nature? So, emerge that awareness of soul consciousness as your natural nature, because it is through this that a gap that there is between your aim of becoming like the Father, Bapsaman, and the qualities that you show in your behaviour, in your actions – that gap now has to be eliminated, so that the aim and the qualities match up, and people see those qualities shining from your face; they see those qualities shining in your behaviour, in your actions, and so they begin to see that, yes, truly these are the ones who are following in the Father's footsteps and are becoming like the Father.

The easy way to achieve this is simply soul consciousness. Baba made it so easy, so easy – just be soul conscious – and you'll say goodbye to the old nature, old sanskars, old behaviour, and you'll be able to emerge the new sanskars and the original qualities, and be able to follow in the Father's footsteps, and keep holding Baba's hand of shrimat, and Baba will guide you in that direction. Baba doesn't like seeing the children labour, so struggling with soul consciousness, labouring to be soul conscious, no. Baba said, you don't need to do that; just remember who you truly are, and emerge that original natural nature of soul consciousness. Baba was giving it to us like a gift again, and so let me be able to remember that gift and take care of this gift and actually practice it. Then Baba again said, but children have many excuses, we're not able to do this, Maya comes, what can we do, how can we do it? So, this whole train of other thoughts starts coming, and then Maya. Baba said, very interesting, just like we go to Baba with complaints, Maya also goes to Baba with complaints. We go to complain about Maya but Maya goes to complain about us. Why? A very interesting chit-chat that Baba had about Maya. Baba said, Maya is saying to me: I know it's my time to go but what can I do? The children keep invoking me. How can I not go to them if I'm being invoked? And the invocation – weak thoughts. When weak thoughts, wasteful thoughts begin – I'm not sure that I can do it…maybe I can, maybe I can't…oh, but I don't have the possibility, or I don't have the help, or whatever, whatever. So that is the door opening to invite Maya to come in and just stay with you – and so Maya complaining about us. Just imagine, we complain about Maya but you can see how Baba's in the middle – impartial – seeing the children and seeing Maya; giving the children an ear and giving Maya an ear – very interesting. Then Baba went on to talk about a very specific practice that Baba had suggested – and, I don't remember exactly when Baba had suggested that – but Baba saying that Baba had told you earlier: 24 times a day, every hour on the hour (but of course, most places traffic control switches off after 10pm, so it's not a 24 hour thing), but here, Baba was saying, 24 times a day; let there be 10 minutes of deep practice in which you're remembering Baba, stabilising yourself in that awareness, but also you're able to check yourself and change yourself.

So, in that stage of 10 minutes, am I able to stabilise my thoughts where I want, when I want, for however long that I want? Because this is the practice that I'm going to need when something happens suddenly. Can I instantly connect with Baba and go up above within a second – not even a second – one thought…one thought should connect me with Baba. One thought should take me up above, to be able to see what signal Baba has for me and what it is I need to do. Where do I need to go? Do I need to stay put? What is it that I need to do now?

So, the long period of time for making effort…that's practically gone past…but just a little bit of time remains, but at least now I can practice this. And Baba very, very gentle and soft: okay, you don't have the possibility of doing it for 10 minutes, okay, try with 5 – start with 5 – and continue to increase it, but at least let it be a minimum of 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 7 minutes, 8 minutes, 9 minutes – whatever it is you can manage – but bring it up slowly, slowly, but don't do less than 5, at least start with 5. I think traffic control music wherever we have it is usually timed for 3 minutes, but that's okay, that's just the external signal, then beyond the 3 minutes, can I continue to sit in silence, connecting with Baba but also connecting with all the original qualities that the soul has, so that I can then check, is my behaviour according to this, or is there something more I need to do to change?

A very simple practice but a very effective practice. And then Baba gives us yet another method – you can see how compassionate Baba is – okay try this, try this…something somewhere will actually then fit. Try it all and you'll become perfect very fast. But the next thing that Baba said: have you thought about your own stage of self-respect – the titles of self-respect that Baba gives to you? And Baba had gone on a tour early in the morning and was seeing all the children, and some had a very large garland of the titles of self-respect; some had a very small garland of self-respect titles, and so, see where you fit in? And Baba's giving us all of these titles together, not individually, privately, secretly, but to all of us, and to what extent do I accept that title? And then further, to what extent am I practicing and becoming aware of that title, and displaying it in my life? Being able – through my walking – show what the talk is. Not just talking about it but walking the talk!

So let me think about each one of the titles that Baba has given us, and let me go into the depth of it, to be able to understand it very deeply, very clearly, and then, having understood it, practice it, experiment with it, use it. Just as each one of the virtues that Baba gives us increases as I practice it, in the same way, am I able to create that stage where I'm able to use my titles? Who gave us these titles? It's the Almighty Authority – no-one else can give me such titles, but the Almighty Authority has given each one of us all these titles. So, I carry the authority of that spiritual title, and so staying in that awareness, as I experiment with putting it into real life in practical terms, whatever else it is I might be doing, then that stage of self-respect is going to increase – just as if I use a virtue. Today I have to be very attentive and practice it, but once I've done it once, twice, three times, it becomes my natural nature, so let me increase the treasure of all the virtues that Baba has given me; let me increase the rosary, the garland of all the titles that Baba has given me; and also, all the powers. So, Baba wants us to move ahead and be able to reveal all of this in our behaviour and our activity, so that the world can see that this is what is happening.

And again, what is it that interferes in all of this? Baba recognised that not so many vicious thoughts or negative thoughts, but still a huge amount of waste thoughts, and of course that was the entry point for Maya also. Weak thoughts, waste thoughts, and Maya takes a chance to come in. Maya – illusion – so when I begin to think I'm weak…I can't do this…I have started to create that illusion for myself, in which it becomes a reality. I'm not able to do it. But equally, if I keep the powerful thought: Baba has given this blessing, let me experiment with it, let me experience it. Because, again and again Baba was saying: do you have courage, do you have courage? Do you have courage to say to Baba, never going to allow Maya to come. Do you have courage to say to Baba, I've left behind old thoughts, old sanskars, old habits, it's gone with the old year and where am I now? It takes courage. But this is what I have to keep determined in my own thinking, that I'm not going to let weak thoughts – especially in terms of my own effort – to come on any level, so that then the powerful thoughts are able to draw help from God, and I'm able to achieve it in my practice, and if I achieve it in my practice, then I'll be able to use it in a day-to-day basis. So, the more I practice it, the more alive it'll be in my life, and it'll then happen in a natural way. So, to make soul consciousness my natural nature, and then to make sure that my sanskars are following that natural nature of soul consciousness. A murli of a lot of love, a lot of encouragement, a lot of empowerment.

Then Baba speaks to Gujarat and the lovely comment from Baba, – the night has gone. Gujarat always draws special love from Baba because being so close, they're also the ones who get called for service first. So, Munnibhen would phone them and say, can you send 100 mothers to help us with the chapattis? And, amazing! Next day, 100 mothers would arrive. It used to become sometimes a 100 or sometimes it would go up to 400, 500 – whatever it is that was the need – Gujarat was able to fulfil that need for Madhuban. So, definitely, very special blessings for Gujarat and then all those from Gujarat.

Then Baba talking to the double foreigners again, and Baba reminding them of the courage, and goodbye to Maya, farewell to the past, but also Baba saying, let there be zeal and enthusiasm at all times, let there be that festive approach, so that each day is a celebration, each day is filled with enthusiasm, and when it’s like that, then you know you have moved forward a huge amount. One more thing that Baba had shared early on but I didn't share it at that time, Baba spoke about the new age in front of you, and the sparkling costume that's waiting for you – and there are two different types of sparkling costumes – and usually Baba talks about the sparkling costume that each one of us has in the subtle region. And so yes, I'm shedding the consciousness of this body of matter and I'm going to the subtle dimension to meet with Avyakt Bapdada. And there because I've let go of the consciousness of the body, now I'm given a dress which is a costume of light, a sparkling costume, that's there waiting for me, the angelic costume. But, in satyug it's not another costume I've put on top of this one, but the sparkling costume is my new form – I've let go of this – I've gone home, and from my home I've come down into the world which is satopradhan, and beautiful parents, with whom I have no karmic accounts except the bond of eternal love, and so there's a baby sparkling costume waiting for me. When that baby is born, then it's as if light radiates from that costume – the parents also of course – but especially that child. So that sparkling costume is waiting for you, Baba's saying. And so, can't you see that sparkling form in front of you? And then let go of this. Baba's offering me something so beautiful, so lovely, how can I say no to Baba? And so, Baba also saying that the more you see the beauty of satyug – and your heart is drawn to that – and in your eyes it's that world of truth that is there: satyug, the age of truth; the more detached you'll be from the old world, and the more ready you'll be to leave all the things of the old world behind. So, lovely message from Baba of love, of empowerment; and so now over to Aruna bhen.

Sr Aruna: Thank you so much, Jayanti bhen. So, we have Sheilu bhen here. So welcome Sheilu Didi. So, Sheilu bhen is going to say hello.

Sheila bhen: Om Shanti. Thank you Jayanti bhen. Thank you Aruna bhen for inviting me to be with all of you straight from Madhuban. It's a beautiful evening for us – I don't know what it is for you - in the afternoon or for some in the morning? But here we just had Bhatti, and bhatti has started for brothers and sisters of Chandrapur, Maharashtra, and I just returned from there, had my dinner and Aruna bhen very kindly invited me to be in this beautiful online gathering which she hosts every Monday as I'm told. And also, thanks to Jayanti bhen to hear you about the beautiful murli which Baba spoke the other day. And yes, we're all in the minds, we're always with each other, and I'm sure that one day very soon you all will come to Madhuban. So, thanks to Aruna bhen. Thanks to Jayanti bhen. Jayanti bhen has already invited me for the NC meeting. And, hope to see all of you there at that time. Maybe some will come, I'm sure, and we'll have the double foreigner season once again. So, thank you very much Aruna bhen. Thank you very much Jayanti bhen for this beautiful meeting which is going on today. Thank you.

Q: So, Sheilu bhen, before you go, a message for the double foreigners who are missing Madhuban? What would you like to say to them?

Sheilu bhen: The message is come soon, come soon – we are all waiting here with open arms to welcome the double foreigners – and I'm sure you will all be here; and I know this corona will go away soon – it's not going to stay for long. Baba's children's determination is definitely helping us and Baba is there with us, so no need to worry. I'm sure you will all come one day, and Madhuban is actually happy to know that you will be coming in February and March, and some already here at the end of December and in January. So maybe for 18th January, too, there will be some here but mostly, I'm sure, they'll all come in February and March. So welcome to all of you. And I know how anxious all of you are to come to Madhuban, and very soon it will take place in a practical way, and you will all be here. So, thank you once again. Om Shanti.

Q: So, Jayanti bhen, actually I've had this question from a few people regarding the 10-minute exercise (you explained very nicely about the exercise) but what is behind it? Is it that Baba wants us to flex those muscles or just go up immediately, so we're prepared for suddenly? What do you think is behind that? I know it's preparation.

A: I think the preparation is actually to be able to again and again keep a continuous link with Baba, so that whatever happens, whenever it happens, my first thought is Baba, I'm connected, and I can catch whatever Baba's signal is for me at that moment. Some of you have already witnessed strange things happening: fires happening in your neighbourhood, floods happening in some places. In London at the moment, we have 16 degrees Celsius, which is not normal for January – it shouldn't be this temperature – it's very pleasant weather but it should be different at this time of year. So, climate change of course is a reality and things will happen; typhoons and tornadoes are happening at a very fast rate. So, at that moment what will I do? Will I turn to this one, this one, this one? Will I remember my son, my daughter, where they are? How can I reach them? Are they going to be okay? Or am I going to say, okay, let me connect with Baba? So, if I've developed this deep practice of connecting with Baba again and again, quickly, within a moment, and holding it in that consciousness for a stretch of some minutes, many minutes, starting with 5 minutes, moving it further, so that I'm able to hold that awareness, because at that moment when things are happening suddenly, I'll need to be in constant contact with Baba.

And the governments are going to switch off all the tower receptors for the mobile phones. Because they don't know what's happening at that moment, is it a terrorist attack? Is it really just nature? What is it? They don't know. And they know that people communicate on the mobile. So they can cut all those communication links. It's part of the strategy that different places have talked about; we know that that will happen. So, who can help me? Who is going to give me a signal? It's going to be Baba, but only if I go straight to Baba without any other distractions, and stay connected with Baba, not letting my mind be pulled down, or here or there by anything else. So, can I do that today when it's not an emergency situation? Can I practice it? And can I keep that awareness…minimum 5 minutes…and if I can, carry on so that I develop that habit and that ability to go straight there. It’s like if you're finding your path to a different destination, if you've done a trial run, you know to go from here to there, and the shortest way to go from here to there. Then next time, when you actually have to make it according to a very strict time schedule, you'll say, yes, I know it takes 5 minutes, it takes 7 minutes, and I know how to get there; and as soon as the signal is given, you start moving there. Well, in this case, again, to what extent have I practiced going to Baba, staying with Baba, and then doing whatever it is Baba tells me to do, and so I need to train myself to do this.

Q: Yes, funny you say that Jayanti bhen, because we have to do these trials for these Zooms. We did the trial yesterday so that it would work today and, actually, we have four of us in four different places – the Tech Team. Actually, Jayanti bhen, connected with this, often people are in a dilemma about using facilities. So, for example, okay, we have to learn to detach from air conditioners and heaters here. And then some people say, but if you have it, why don't you use it? So, they don't then practice the detachment. And I think we should also practice detachment even when we have it. What is your thought about this? Okay, it's not that we want to suffer, but at the same time, I think we do have to have things, and still try to be without them. Why I'm saying that, Jayanti bhen, is because if I don't have it and I can do without it, there could be this feeling of “poor me” and that's why I'm, in a way, suffering, but I'll deal with it. But if I have it and I don't use it or I manage without it, then isn't that mastery?

A: It is: firstly, it's mastery; secondly, it's preparation, because I don't know when I won't have it. Because for sure there's going to be electrical black-outs everywhere – not just in the developing world, but even in the developed world. Whenever there are floods in the UK, we hear about 10,000 homes without electricity for X amount of days or weeks. The same thing in Canada or in the West Coast USA now. But all of these things are going to happen wherever I am, and whatever it is I'm most dependent on, that's going to hit me hard, and so, even though I have it, can I gradually acclimatise myself…maybe for an hour, a few hours, some hours…to manage without, because there will come a time when I will be tested. And if it is that I can't tolerate the cold – I need the heat and I'm used to the heaters – and I go to Madhuban and there's no heaters, what do I do then? It's a problem for me. Or the other way, that there is no electricity – wherever it is we may be – and I don't have that. Am I going to remember the electricity and the facility? Or am I going to say, okay, can't do anything else, just sit and remember Baba, and so I'll use my time in a worthwhile way. Thirdly, also, the more I manage without, the more I'm reducing my carbon footprint, and I think that's also part of what we all need to do.

Q: Yes, Jayanti bhen. Also, there are documentaries on monks who live on mountains and they put on wet shawls and they just sit in yoga, and the shawl dries off. So, yoga actually creates heat. Sometimes we don't believe that, but it does.

A: It reminds me of Mama, because if you notice, you would never have seen any photographs of Mama with a sweater or with a shawl. Baba used to sometimes see photographs of Baba with a shawl. One shoulder there but a shoulder wrapped around. But Mama never, ever used sweaters or shawls. She just said that, whatever you get used to is going to be your practice, so if you get used to wearing a sweater, you need it, but if you're not wearing a sweater, then you get used to that, and you develop that resistance and you're able to manage.

Q: Yes, so true, Jayanti bhen. And another question – since we're in the land of Brahma Baba – somebody was asking me, we talk so highly of Brahma Baba, and he was so full of virtues and powers, and he was non-violent, loving, tolerant – he was almost complete when he came – so then, what effort did Brahma Baba actually make?

A: It was the preparation that he'd started to make since 1932, because we've read those diaries in which he's teaching his mind; he's holding court and telling his mind: you have to learn to be quiet. He's telling his intellect: you have to be very clear and decisive in whatever you understand and suggest. He's telling his sanskars: you must learn to behave and only emerge when I ask for you to emerge, not without my permission. So, he was already in this practice for a few years before Shiv Baba came, and once Shiv Baba came, and he had those visions: instant recognition, instant surrender, and instantly accepting that – you are this, you are he, Vishnu, the four-armed image – I am to be this. When Baba says, from Brahma to Vishnu in a second, that's what it means, and then from Vishnu to become Brahma, it takes 5000 years – the whole journey of the cycle. So, at this moment, what I can do is to practice what Baba practiced – soul consciousness – detachment from the body, because Baba hadn't practiced that; Baba didn't have all that information exactly of soul, and God, and so on. So, this was Baba's very deep practice: the practice of soul consciousness. And then secondly, he was a very sociable person, and he had a lot of friends, and mingled with them in a very loving way, so that they all had a huge amount of respect for him, but also with his children – he was very much a family man – and so he loved his children. And, now here's this voice telling him to surrender everything – this voice is telling him nothing is yours – and Baba has to have faith that it is the voice of the Divine and this is what I need to do.

So, Baba's surrendering all his property to the trust of the young sisters that he had set up, again, following those instructions. What a wrench it must have been, and he must have had to deal with it quickly – he didn't let it carry on for days and weeks and months – but he'd already decided when he was in Kashmir in the mountains, that yes, this is my time for surrender, and when the division happened, the partition between his partner and himself happened, okay, give me what is my right. Taking that, but at that moment of taking it, well, surely my children have an inheritance, they have a right to take from me – at least 10 per cent, 20 percent, whatever it may be – but no, I am God's child; this is what God wants me to do. And that surrender happened so smoothly, so naturally and easily, nobody else could even know what struggle he might have had to go through. So, Baba had to deal with attachments, and not only his attachment to them, but their attachment to him. Can you imagine Jashodamata and how much attachment she had to him? And yet, Baba managed to free himself, detach himself on all levels so that then, yes, he could play the role that Baba had chosen him for. If Baba still had attachments here and there, it would have created many problems, but the attachments were let go, and Baba was able to take things further. So, I think that the two things that Baba had to work on, was deep soul consciousness and also letting go of all traces of attachment.

Q: So maybe on the heels of that question, Jayanti bhen, somebody is asking about your own experience of taking on something and working through it and having success? Would you like to give any examples of how you've tackled situations in terms of self-progress?

A: I've had to deal with anger, I've had to deal with attachments – and you have to realise that these sanskars are very, very, very deep – and not get disheartened, because you think you've finished it and then it pops up again – maybe in a milder way, maybe not so severe – but it’s telling you, hey, I'm still here; I haven't gone away and I'm not going to leave so quickly. So, you have to firstly, have a lot of patience with yourself; and secondly, be very open with Baba about how far you've got and what help you want from Baba, and as you work through it – it might take a long time – but the victory is guaranteed; success is going to happen if you deal with it patiently, and in a benign way, not in an angry way. I can't get angry at my own anger and say, why is this coming again, I don't like it. No that's not the way to deal with it – it's not going to leave you – but to say to Baba: Baba, okay, I've been trying, but now I need more help from you, and seeing my honesty and my sincerity and my realization, Baba's going to give me that help.

Q: Nice. Thank you, Jayanti bhen, for your honesty. So, somebody's asking, we know how to give the gift of virtues – say kindness or love – but how do we give the gift of power?

A: When we know that there's a situation where somebody lacks, for example, tolerance power, can I be with them and help them and encourage them to be more tolerant of whatever it is they're going through? And if they've seen me demonstrate it also, then that helps, but you can't create a situation in which you're going to demonstrate...it's not a cookery show. But, if you've been tolerant yourself and they know that you've had to tolerate X, Y, Z, then to share that experience with them, that the power of tolerance helped me go through whatever, and so sharing experiences in that way, and they learn also how to develop tolerance or capacity to discern. Again, sitting and having a chat about it, and making them aware of what is it that interferes with discernment? How, if my feelings are pulled in one direction or another direction, then there isn't that impartiality that's going to give me clear discernment. The centre-point of the balance has to be accurate; if it's pulled here or pulled there, you won't get an accurate reading. So, to help them understand what is needed, and then they'll also hopefully take that on board and experiment with it and practice it. Sometimes, also, just your presence, because they see you stable and calm, and so that's also an empowerment in which they feel that, yes, it's Baba's power that's with you, but also that power reaches them and they want to have that same power. The other day Baba was talking about how in your presence their sanskars get subdued but, if it happens regularly – maybe it's not even that a particular sanskar gets subdued – but they're actually then able to deal with it, but your presence has an impact.

Q: Okay, Jayanti bhen, you talked about having the courage to say goodbye to Maya. And we love Maya just as much as we love Baba.

A: Not always, no.

Q: Well, we must because we're not saying goodbye to her. But that's my point.

A: And I'm thinking that when Maya comes, it makes us feel horrible and so we don't like that feeling. We know there's going to be pain; we know there's going to be sorrow and suffering – and that's what Maya does – Maya brings with herself sorrow and pain and suffering, and so, I don't love Maya.

Q: So, what is courage? What is it going to take to really say goodbye and bid farewell to Maya?

A: To be very, very determined, and determination is not enough – it is not the right word – but to develop that will, that willpower that says, I don't want this anymore. It's like when there's substance abuse; it's not enough for a person to say, I'm really determined this time. If it's just on that level of determination, then they get a whiff of whatever it may be and they're pulled to go and have a try again and, of course, one step in that direction and that's it. The effort of years goes to waste and they come crashing down.  What they need is the will, willpower, and so I need a lot of power from Baba and obedience to Baba. The other day Baba said that, Baba wills you with willpower when you're obedient, and He was talking about the Dadis at that point, that these obedient children have a lot of willpower, because Baba has willed it to them. So let me be obedient to Baba in all the ways that I can, and then if at this moment there's something that I'm not able to be obedient in, then I have to say to Baba: Baba, I really want this to change, and I develop that power from Baba to have the will to say, no, I'm not letting my thoughts go down there. And Baba's point was that all you have to do is have a weak thought – a weak thought about yourself – and you get disheartened and you go down; a weak thought about another and your intellect begins to criticize, and my happiness is lost, it disappears. So, this is why I say that Maya brings with itself just continuous misery…pain…so let me be able to remember that, and Baba sometimes says, have you not had enough of the pain? Do you still want to carry on having more pain, more misery? So, firstly, let me be very aware that any type of Maya might look very attractive, but it's actually quite painful, and it's going to cause sorrow, and then the second thing, okay, I'm really kicking Maya out and I'm needing to have that sort of very strict attention on my thinking, I need willpower.

Q: Okay, thank you, Jayanti bhen. A few people are asking about this 8 hour Bhatti that you're planning in London. Would you like to give us a proper intro into that? And since it's January, maybe if you have a story about Baba, then we can finish.

A: It’s not just London…it’s the world. It’s the Global Volcanic Yoga Bhatti. The idea emerged from an RC meeting and Mohini bhen said that we need to maybe have something in which, collectively, we're able to have such yoga that there's a new idea that emerges that can really allow us to complete the task of service. Because when we had so few facilities, we were able to manage the Million Minutes – Global cooperation – we didn't have an office, we didn't have a desk, we didn't have a computer, and all these things started at that time (Million Minutes), and everything happened, and big projects that brought a lot of recognition to the Brahma Kumaris at the UN, but also in India and across the world. And now we have so many facilities, retreat places, beautiful centres and so many resources, but we haven't come up with an idea for something that everybody can say yes to. So, firstly, to be able to spread good vibrations for those three days; secondly, also, to be able to develop our own skill at being able to manage 8 hours – not all at a stretch – but an hour here, an hour there, 2 hours here, one hour here. So then we're able to come to that point that Baba's asking us to come to in sakar murlis – 8 hours yoga. And then thirdly, if we're all connected together in yoga, then someone somewhere will be touched, will have an inspiration, will have an idea, and everybody will say, yes, this is the way to go. Then we'll have that project that's going to bring service to its completion, because we need to do that, I feel, quite soon. That's where the idea was born and then a group got together from across the world to actually see how it could be made practical, and there's a lot of communication with India, of course, because you can't have something happening across the rest of the world and leave out the place that has the largest Brahmin population in which is to be our future home – and so to get Bharat on board. So, then all those communications happened, then Dadi Ratan Mohini sent out this letter inviting everybody to join in this Bhatti, and so that's how it began. The way it's working out is 2 hours in the morning (3am to 5am), for those three days and, anyway, through January many people want to have 16th, 17th, 18th January – 3 days of global bhatti silence. Who hasn't had that information in writing? It should have reached everywhere? The NC office should have received it and the NC office should have sent it out to all the centres, and the centres should have shared the information with their students. That's the mechanism that we've always been using, and if you haven't heard about this – if you don't have it in writing – then contact your NC and find out more about it, or your NCT, whichever.

So, from 3am to 5am in the morning, extra time for amrit vela – at least for those 3 days – 2 hours; and then, half an hour pre murli class, and half an hour post murli class; that again becomes an hour. So that's already 3 hours early morning, and then whatever suits you around 10am or 10.30am, so from 10.00am-12.00pm or 10.30-12.30 – now that comprises of a half hour class – Sister Mohini one day, myself the second day, and Brother Brij Mohan the third day. So, again, you can adjust that within your morning schedule, and so, that's again 2 hours of yoga – that's 5 hours already – and then in the afternoon, it could be say, 3.30pm to 5.30pm or 4pm to 6pm – however it suits your convenience – and then one hour 8.30pm to 9.30pm or 8pm to 9pm. So, there's a fair bit of flexibility because we’re not expecting that everybody should come and spend 8 hours at the centre. It's likely that you'll all be together for morning class, so that's your morning class, but one hour, half an hour, half an hour before and after for the special yoga. Then maybe there could be some evenings that you can spend at the centre, so different situations. But it's all there in writing – you don't have to memorise everything I'm saying now – but that's the thinking behind all of this. So that 8 hours of yoga, and if it's within your particular time zone, of course, then the time zone can coordinate so that all of you are in yoga at the same time, or just even in your country, you can coordinate, so that all the centres work together on that level. So, 8 hours: 16th, 17th, 18th; the Sunday, the Monday, the Tuesday. We sent out a Save the Date notice about a month ago, as soon as everybody sort of had agreed in India, Madhuban, and so on, and so those three days. If you don't have holidays, say, Monday (usually people do take a holiday on the 18th anyway), but if you don't, then encouragement to do that this year especially. Some people don't have a holiday on Sunday – even so, then they're having to take a 3 days holiday – whatever it is that works in your country and in your region, but to see if you can make it up to 8 hours. And there will be lots of resources available, and that will be available online and you can print it out and keep it for yourself – snippets of avyakt murlis and whatever else – so that's going to be there. And then 3 days at least for half the day or one day – maybe you can devote evenings or mornings – whatever time works out, for a couple of hours to keep up communication, so if people need to know if you're alive or not, you're communicating with them, but the rest of the time…digital detox. Put away your phones, put away your laptops, put away your iPads and whatever else, so that really you keep your mind clean and clear to be with Baba. And my expectation is that I'll be able to do this because I won't get any emails – other Brahmins are also going to be in digital detox and avyakt stage – and so I won't get any emails, and I won't send any emails, so we can all enjoy 3 days without that, yes?

Q: Yes, that's great. Thank you Jayanti bhen. So, Maryanne's putting up the information for those who are on Zoom, and we will also put these links at the bottom of the YouTube, so you can catch it later.

A: Yes, good.

Q: Okay, and anything about Brahma Baba, Jayanti bhen, and we can end with that.

A: Yes, just remembering Brahma Baba's humility and the new buildings were being constructed where the History Hall is, the rooms by the side and up on top of History Hall. The new rooms, all of these places, they were being constructed and everybody wanted Baba to move. And the walls of Baba's room well, of course it was stables – so you don't even have proper bricks for a stable – you just have something very basic and simple, and so the walls were so thin and everything was very primitive, and Baba – it's cold in January, you used to go to Bombay and Delhi earlier times, and then you stopped travelling even during the winter times so you're here in winter. Please Baba can you move to one of these other places so that at least in winter you can be warm. And Baba had one mantra: These facilities are not for me; these facilities are for the children. Until the end of Baba's days, Baba stayed in that room which was part of the stable block, and now when you see Baba's Room, it's big. But at that point, it was a very tiny room up to where that chair (the one chair that the sisters use), that was actually a wall, a bit of that wall still remains. So, the chair that's there, no chair there, but that was a wall, so that was the size of Baba's Room. Just imagine! Baba meditating there, Baba sitting there, Baba meeting people there, Baba eating there, Baba chatting there; everything was there within that tiny little space. And the other space that Baba had, of course, coming to the History Hall, or Baba would always go around the whole complex (a little complex) and the garden, to see what was going on, to the kitchen, to make sure that everything was sparkling clean, but also to feel what the atmosphere was. So, Baba very aware of his responsibilities – and actually that was in the murli today very much – nobody can say I'm too busy; Brahma Baba was busier than all of you, and Baba had greater responsibility than all of you, but Baba was able to stay light and easy because Baba knew that that One was making everything happen. So, we can never complain and say, too busy, too much to do, too much responsibility, no. Baba's in charge, and so Baba accepts nothing for himself – no recognition, no adoration, no – just remember One, just remember One. So, Baba's total, total renunciation.

Q: And just to add to that, a Madhuban brother was saying that Baba said that if Shiv Baba has an old boot, then how can Brahma Baba take on a new building? So, Shiv Baba has this old body Brahma, so how can he take on, how can he go and live in a new one?

Thank you so much. This was special from Madhuban. And all good wishes to everyone for the month of January. Thank you, Sr Jayanti.

A: Thank you everyone.

Om Shanti.

Sudesh Didi – 6th March 2022 Sunday Morning Class - GCH, London: Detached Observer, Active Actor

10 March 2022

Om Shanti. Om Shanti. Good morning. Golden morning, and according to today's morning, diamond morning.

We are diamond children because Baba is showering upon us diamonds, to make us diamonds, to transform the shells into diamonds, from empty to full. He is giving us, once again, a signal.

We can see the situations in the world. And it's a contrast when there is this upheaval. In the world, we see the final scene of total transformation through natural calamities, civil wars, and atomic energy. But it starts and stops, it starts and stops, what is the reason? Is it because people are afraid of it, and realise that it is a disaster? Is it fear, creating more tension in the world? Of course. The scene is critical, but transformation cannot take place through these three methods, because the new world is based on when there is harmony; when there is happiness.

Many people speak about the new age, the new world, the world of happiness, the vision of happiness. When negative is at an extreme, there has to be extremely positive in order to finish the war, in order to finish the calamities, and transform the nature of disaster into harmonious nature. Baba says nature is subservient to you. It is a time when a memorial is played out that Ravan had died, all these five elements in his room, on his bed, he could switch on the fire in a second, with a signal, water will emerge. Every element is there, but it was in bondage. It was not serving us to create disaster because anything which is with violence will not bring silence.

Silence is brought about with the power of good wishes, with the power of benevolence. Where benevolence is possible, there is a natural harmony. And so, fear is making the souls empty of energy. Fear creates a reaction. Fear creates more violence, because even those who want to protect themselves will attack. And so, this is why only silence with the awareness of harmony can bring non-violence. Non-violence, not only just on a physical level; it is non-violence on the subtle level, because violence is caused by ego, by greed, by being forceful of their own specialty, by attachment. Wherever war starts, what is behind is the need for something, more powerful things, powerful physical resources. In order to achieve physical resources, they go with the force of violence, the authority of evil, or of destructive force.

In order to receive through destroying first, nature will not serve. The souls are not receiving real power; all connections have been broken - with God, with matter, as well as with each other. There is no power when each one is separated, and no one can cooperate with each other.

Baba teaches us that, the whole world exists with three things which are eternal: soul, God and matter. In order to respect matter, we have to first train our mind. Although matter does not have the power to control the mind, we become dependent on matter. When we master our mind, when our mind becomes powerful, we can work with matter with responsibility, with care, and with attention, and better, as a source of expressing our energy since matter supports the body. This body supports us. In body consciousness, it creates disharmony.

So, it is important to have inner harmony. This is only possible with divine virtues, divine powers. So, now, the extremely subtle, very subtle point. When there is harmony in sanskaras of all souls, especially us, Baba’s children. This harmonious creativity is the real energy that transforms the violent energy.

Harmony is silence; cooperation is silence; respect is silence; accepting the varieties of each other in silence. Silence is not only just to sit down; silence is when the mind is satisfied. This is the silence where there is happiness. There is another type of silence when someone leaves the body. It is also called dead silence. But there's no silence because there is sorrow; when there is sorrow, it cannot be silence.

What is important is inner joy and inner happiness. And that is possible when we recognise the power of truth. And truth means eternal, not perishable. Truth is constant. Truth makes you fearless; truth brings happiness. Truth doesn't need to prove its authority; it automatically works in authority. The nature of truth is that it does not need to prove itself, it is automatically proof. The power of light is true; light means light. If I only have a picture of light, and I say it gives light, but it does not give light, then it creates a deception that there is light. Where it is dry, and instead, one sees water; this is the story of Mahabharata story, that Duryodhana came to Yudhisthira’s palace, and the place was filled with the sparkle of all this beauty of miracle of nature. As he was going through that courtyard, he lifted his robes, thinking the crystal floor was wet. It was a deception. My point is, falsehood always deceives. Falsehood is a show, but truth does not need a show; truth just reveals its power. It does not need to prove itself.

Light does not fight with darkness. Real light does not fight. The sun shines, darkness disappears, it does not have to prove. Even if you are underground, and the sun is not visible, the temperature will show. So, nature shows it's a reality; there is natural power in it. And our reality is when our sanskaras, our nature, show everything in practical. That is, knowledge is not only in words, but knowledge in our life. That is not only the sanskaras with each other are in harmony. This is the result of when my own three powers: my mind, my intellect, and my samskaras, are in harmony. Unless I, the soul, myself, am in harmony, I cannot have harmony with others.

Soul consciousness is the foundation to bringing harmony, and soul consciousness naturally creates harmony with matter. When soul and matter are in harmony, this harmony means that matter is in its original quality. But we respect matter without being possessive of it. You become a detached observer, an active actor, you live in this world but you don't become greedy. You respect this world, but you don't take things away from others. So, it is being a complete detached observer and yet, using it. You are enjoying it, but you are not being trapped or you are not being dependent on it. When there is no attachment, it means there is no greed; there is no possessiveness; there is no ego.

Detachment is the secret to totally conquering five vices. This means becoming a detached observer, but at the same time, an active actor. What does it mean? It means that the soul acts according to the direction of the Director. What are the acts of the soul? The soul has to act according to its own qualities of truth, peace, love, purity and happiness. And, what is the soul? The soul itself is light. It is light, but it is might. It is a dot, but all the qualities are within it.

So, to be soul conscious, God conscious and then to understand the beauty of matter, yet, it doesn't matter. It means to understand matter, but not being influenced. And this is why when you are detached, situations do not cause any problem to you, because you are a detached observer. You are just watching a film; it is not directly or personally affecting you. It is as if it is happening to someone else.

So, we become detached observers, but sitting here, on the seat of soul consciousness, connecting with Baba. Baba says, become upram (go beyond to the soul world with the intellect’s yoga); this means to go up. Who is up there? Purest matter is up above; the highest Supreme Soul is up above; our Home is up above. Sitting in higher consciousness with aram (rest), with Ram. This is a nice comfortable stage, not with fear not with tension, not with anxiety, but with God. Then, we are in stability, the sanskaras will be that of creativity. There is enthusiasm, there is harmony, and the soul handles matter with gentleness.

So, in the Golden Age, they say that prakruti, nature, is your servant. But, they are not servants; they are known as deities. Elements are not called servants. It is like when God says, “I am your most Obedient Servant,” Is God our Servant? So, matter also serves us, but when we change it into possessiveness and use it for violence, then it becomes our enemy. This is why, harmony with our sanskars is possible only when there are similarities; all the qualities are working with qualities.

When qualities are working and interacting with qualities, it's called relationship. Our qualities have to be able to handle as relationship increases, we are always using virtue, harmony becomes the natural way. Respect, self-respect and living with respect. So, value for the self; value for others. When qualities have to handle with negativity, it is tension. Then negative handling of a person is violence and destruction.

This is why when the signs of destruction is increasing, but the practical sanskaras of our harmony is not, the game will continue, start and finish, start and finish. Fear continues.

There is purity when we are soul conscious, God conscious, and have respect for virtues. Seeing the quality in matter being used in the right way. So, this silence then creates constructive signs instead of destructive. Energy will be used but because of harmony with the mind and matter; harmony between human beings, working together, God's power is received. This is why we have to become detached observers, and active actors while seated on the stage up above.
Om shanti.

Sister Jayanti – 1st March 2022 – Gyan Sarovar – (revision of Avyakt Murli 30.11.2008)

7 March 2022

Om shanti. It’s a pleasure for me to be here with all of you. Firstly because I feel that Mount Abu is my home rather than the bottom of the mountain. But also because I love doing murli revision because it’s also of benefit to me. So when you’re doing something knowing its value for yourself and of course it’s of value to others too and those blessings also come your way. So, yesterday’s murli summary in one word: purity. Purity, purity and purity. And Baba explaining the importance of purity. Purity is the foundation of Brahmin life. Purity is the way to be able to experience God’s love. Purity is the way to have the experience of all attainments. And, Baba always praises His children right at the beginning, that all of you have achieved what the great sages, saints, the mahatmas always say is impossible and, you are the ones who have shown that it is possible. So, this is why you are the ones who are the great souls, not the sages and saints out there, but Baba’s children.

But also Baba explained how it’s easy for us to follow purity and Baba mentioned a few things. Firstly, in bhakti they have this system and especially on Shivratri. There are some festivals where there is a lot of feasting. In all traditions there are festivals where there’s a lot of feasting but Shivratri is not one of feasting but rather it’s one of fasting. The Hindi word, and there can be many different words for ‘fasting’ in Hindi but the word that Baba was using was ‘vrat’ which on the one side means a fast but on the other it means a commitment, a promise. So Baba said, how are you able to manage this? What is it that enables you to manage it? Baba said, the word ‘fast’ (vrat) comes from the word ‘vritti’. It’s connected with that and vritti is attitude. So when there’s a change of attitude then it’s very easy to fulfil the determined thought or the commitment you have made. And, it’s interesting that although the murli wasn’t a Shivratri murli, but it was a murli I suppose that had been spoken at that time to those who were from Punjab, because we saw Prem Bhen Ji. We saw Achal Didi. How many of you know these characters? Of course, Sona Bhen and Meera Bhen, Gopi Bhen. Nobody else, nobody knew Prem Bhen? One, two. And, Achal Didi? One. Well both of them were really amazing souls and their power of purity was enormous, huge. You could feel their presence. They were sitting there in the front row in that video, so definitely it was spoken to the Punjab group at that time so they selected it because now it was the turn of Punjab. But it was interesting because especially at Shivratri, there is the fast, there is the promise, there is the commitment made to God, so all of these things were there in the murli. It’s interesting how things come together in a synchronistic way.

Baba was then saying that if you simply have that change of attitude towards another, that they are my brother and of course then your attitude also changes your vision. So when you see them as your brother what are your feelings and when you, yourself, are stable in the awareness of soul consciousness? What is it that happens then? Then you have nothing but pure feelings and good wishes for them. So Baba, right from the start, broadened out that whole subject of purity which sometimes we just think is connected with celibacy. And, yes definitely that is a foundation that Baba was talking about. But, very quickly, Baba broadened it out to this idea of how is it that I’m seeing another. What is my attitude towards them? And, I’m remembering a situation in the 1990s maybe. There was a person, not in London but in another country. We were working closely together in many different ways and I kept coming into a ‘hooha’ with them. It wasn’t big, it was more subtle but there was a definite friction there. It wasn’t smooth running. And, I stopped and asked myself the question, “Why is it happening in this way?” And it must have been a murli that Baba had spoken on vritti (attitude) and I started to explore my own attitude internally, and sure enough I found that there were things that had happened early on that had impacted the way in which I saw this individual. And so I lucky that I was able to see that. A few incidents very early on and when I started to work on those and let go of those I could feel my attitude changing towards them and lo and behold… I don’t know whether they were going through the same process or whether it was just one way, but whatever it was, probably they too – they were Brahmins so probably they were going through the same. And the next time we met, everything was smooth, very, very sweet, and it stayed that way and she’s still around and I’m still around. We don’t need to interact so much anymore. It’s occasional rather than regular but whenever we do connect it’s definitely a feeling of good wishes, pure feelings for each other, so I know that transformation in terms of attitude is such a major thing and, yes, it does work in a very powerful way.

When Baba speaks there are things you’ve experimented with and you instantly resonate with those and there are things that maybe you haven’t yet experimented with and so then there is going to be time, or homework. Baba gave us a lot of homework yesterday. Homework to be done as the next step for progress. Baba spoke about purity in terms of our thoughts, our words, our actions, our relationships, our connections. All of these things. So sometimes it might just be in the mind and attitude. Sometimes it can get expressed in words and sometimes even in actions. For example, you’ll say, no, no, I don’t want to work with this one. I can’t manage with them and you separate yourself from that opportunity - and every opportunity of service is an opportunity for fortune, not just in terms of doing things but also in terms of learning and growing and changing - and so to shut a door on opportunity is going to be my loss. But if I’m able to stay with it and work through it, it’s going to be of huge benefit for me also. So, Baba reminding of us of purity on all the different levels and then, of course, it gets expressed in relationships and connections.

Baba was also then concerned about how there are things we don’t see in ourselves and things that we don’t check and change and so Baba’s saying, at Amrit Vela, Baba is going to go on a tour and, in those days, Baba would be with us until late and sometimes Amrit Vela was not so accurate for everyone. So Baba mentioned Amrit Vela many times in this murli, so at Amrit Vela Baba is going to see what you’re up to. Are you doing what you need to do, checking and changing? So Baba mentioned that a few times. But in this case, just see what is your percentage of purity and how far have you come within that.

And then Baba was very sweet. You talk so much about being world transformers, the ones who change the world. And, of course, being a world transformer means that you’re changing nature, you’re changing matter, you’re changing the five elements even. So are you a master almighty authority, the child of the one who is the Almighty Authority? If you are, then how come you’re not able to change yourself? And, if you are one who can change yourself then you are definitely one who can change others around you also. And, yes, then you can make the claim that, yes, when I change, the world changes too. Then you’re going to be able to have an impact on the world around you and then on the bigger world too. So, Baba was quite straightforward with everything. If you are a master almighty authority how can’t you change yourself yet? Where have all your powers gone? What’s happened to you? So Baba reminding us very much about that transformation.

Purity means transforming yourself. That’s another definition that Baba was giving throughout the murli. Transformation, transformation and, that is making the impossible into possible. And, then Baba quoted three different aspects that make us trip up in that whole subject of purity and transformation, and I’ll share the Hindi words with you first as they all go together very much. So one was parchintan, pardarshan and parmat. So where you are thinking of others, where you are looking at others and thirdly then where you are following the instructions of others rather than following srimat. And all of it is ‘par’, ‘par’, ‘par’, outside rather than ‘swa’, what’s going on inside. So in that subject of parchintan, where does it begin? It begins with lack of soul consciousness. I’m not willing to look at myself. It begins with pardarshan, looking outside myself, looking at others and this is where all sorts of excuses and reasons and carelessness comes in. So I’m looking at others and all this is creating waste thoughts within me and so the train of waste thoughts has started and it’s going to be very difficult to stop it, and so, how am I going to do that? And, of course, once the train has left the station it’s already gone quite a way but Baba reminding us: “Whose instructions are you following? Are you following the instructions of others or are you following the instructions from Baba?” And, the problem with the vision out there is that there’s no time to look at the self. If I’m occupied in looking at the self and bringing about change within the self then there’s no time to be looking outside. If I’m looking outside then there’s no time to look inside. And, so definitely looking out there, body consciousness and extraversion rather than introversion and in looking outside waste thoughts keep coming.

And maybe it’s actually that parchintan is also connected with gossip so it’s not just my waste thoughts but it’s usually negative thoughts also because there’s going to be an element of things that I see that I’m not comfortable with, that I’m not happy with. And, so I can’t control things outside, that’s the problem. I don’t even manage to control things inside but at least Baba is giving me power and if I’m willing to take God’s power then I’m looking at what’s going on inside and I’m able to come to that state of control of what’s happening inside. Outside, how can I possibly control others. There’s no way really. I think maybe I’m in charge and I can control and they’ll do as I wish when I’m there in front of them and as soon as I turn my back things are going to go haywire. I can’t control people. Have you ever tried changing anyone or controlling anyone? If you’ve tried you know that it doesn’t work, it really doesn’t. And circumstances, how am I going to control what’s going on outside? We have all these astrologers and we have all these people who have forecasts and planning and everything. Who could have predicted that Covid was going to last for a minimum of two years. It’s still going on. I know that the astrologers – people send me little snippets on WhatsApp – and there are a few astrologers who are very famous and they were saying that in 2020, by the time the summer comes things will change, then they stopped talking.

Things didn’t change but rather they got worse. Literally there were no more predictions that anybody was sending me about when Corona was going to finish and, of course, it hasn’t really finished but things have changed. So, nobody could have predicted that. Nobody could have predicted that we are moving from an era of where it was very antagonistic cold war to where it was warm relations and things seemed to be melting, things seemed to be going fine. And then, suddenly, you see from outer space or above all these satellite images of troups gathering on borders and then you’re not just getting predictions but intelligence coming from different countries saying there’s something brewing, something’s going to happen, and it’s escalating and now there’s a threat that it might be nuclear. My gut feeling is that it’s a rehearsal for us. I could be totally wrong and if we’re all asked to go Home tomorrow, I don’t know. But, my gut feeling is that we’re coming to the brink and things will calm but it will have been, maybe, I hope, a big wake-up call for Brahmins. Yes, we’ve been hearing ‘the tiger’s coming, the tiger’s coming’ and when it really is the time for the tiger to come up slowly, slowly, then we say “no, no, no, I’ve heard this often enough, it’s not going to happen.”

So my point is that we can’t predict what is going to happen in terms of the world out there, so if this is a wake-up call for me and it’s telling me that now if I’ve been wasting time looking outside, now I can’t do that anymore. I can’t be careless about it. Baba was very sweet about that also in commenting that “children keep saying, Baba, when the time comes we’ll be fine, when the time comes we’ll be okay. There’ll be such disinterest in the world that we’ll just be doing tapasya.” Well, will you? No guarantees of that. But let me start making – and whatever effort I’ve been making until now it’s been good, it’s brought me to Madhuban. I’m here and I’m moving ahead but maybe what I need to do is to turn up the speed a little bit further and make sure I do complete that task that I had set for myself. That determined thought that, yes, I want to become completely pure. I want to settle all accounts and be ready to go Home. Baba played with us a lot about that. Are you ready to go Home? Well, Baba’s wanting to take you Home and He doesn’t want to leave any child behind. It’s interesting how slogans come up, and they come up much later and Baba has already come up with that slogan way back. So, why I’m thinking about this expression ‘no-one should be left behind’. I’ve been hearing it in some of these past revision avyakt murlis, and the world out there only started to use this slogan ‘no-one should be left behind’ only a couple of years ago. Baba was using this in the context of the children decades ago, in the 90s or maybe even earlier. But certainly in this murli Baba uses this expression a couple of times. Baba is expressing all His love for you but also cautioning you and drawing your attention to all of this because Baba does not want to leave any child behind. And so it is out of love that Baba is making us so clear in our understanding of what it is we need to do.

After quite some time when it’s 18th January murlis like we heard last week, Baba often refers to the advance party or to the relationship of Baba and Mama and so on, but this one was saying that the advance party, the Dadis and also your senior brothers, they are all waiting for you to get ready so that we can all go Home together. They have made a promise and a very sweet promise. And, that sweet promise is: “We are waiting for you. We won’t go Home without you. We’ll all go Home together.” I found that very, very lovely, very, very sweet. But Baba’s saying: “They’re waiting”. Brahma Baba’s been waiting for how long? Since 1969, just imagine! If you’re kept waiting for ten minutes, thirty minutes, you’ll be drumming your fingers and thinking, what are they doing, why aren’t they here? And, yet, Brahma Baba, beyond time, beyond space, of course, in the subtle region, but definitely very, very patient and loving. The Mother, the Father, both together. So, Baba’s waiting for us.

Then, Baba’s is saying that, and again Baba mentioned it a few times, that Baba takes a tour of all the centres and sees what the children are doing but especially at Amrit Vela, Baba is checking what are the children up to. But then Baba also said that at different times Baba still wants to see what the children are doing. And Baba saw that at all the centres there’s one particular aspect that’s missing. And Baba said: “Check what’s causing the weakness in your foundation of purity. What is there in your mind, what’s there in your words, what’s there in your actions? And there was this lovely expression that Baba used: “Bal phal”. The power of purity and the fruit of purity. And the power of purity brings with itself the fruits of supersensuous joy, a joy that’s beyond the senses. And, if you explore this a little you can see lack of purity means being totally pulled into the physical senses. Purity means going beyond the physical senses so that they don’t pull you. So that very expression, ‘a joy that is beyond the senses’, it’s totally connected with purity. If, in my Brahmin life, I say I’m not happy, it’s quite a statement to make. It’s a very serious statement to consider “Why?” And Baba tracked it back to the fact that there’s lack of purity. And, so where is it that there’s this lack of purity? Is it in my mind? Is it in my words? Is it in my actions? Why is it that Brahmin life should be one of supersensuous joy? It should be my birthright to experience supersensuous happiness all the time, not just sometimes but all the time. It’s a lack of purity.

So, Baba is saying, so what is the main reason? Baba earlier had spoken about the three reasons, the vision outside, but now Baba was talking about something internal. The inability to put a full stop. The deities are mindful. I know that people have sort of run away with this term, they’ve hijacked this term ‘mindfulness’, but in fact the people who truly really are mindful are the deities. They don’t remember the past. And Baba has explained that if they remembered the past they would feel sorrow. They know nothing about the future but they’re not worried about the future. And, if they did know anything about the future, they’d be worried about it. And so they know nothing of that. They’re totally present in the moment. And, at what point of time do we develop those sanskars? It's not going to be up there. It’s not going to be in Satyug. My very entry into Satyug is my preparation today. So, to what extent have I developed that state of purity so that I am able to put a full stop? That is purity. That is yoga. Yesterday, Brij Mohan said that Baba has given us a very new definition of yoga and he then commented on this particular point that Baba had made because Baba remembered the slogan that we always used to use in the early days, ‘pavitra bano, yogi bano’. ‘Be pure, be yogi’.

So Baba explained a lot about purity, but also then, a yogi. And surely yogi means mastery over myself, firstly the physical senses but also then over my inner faculties. And, how am I going to put a full stop? If I have mastery over my thoughts then I can put a full stop. If I don’t have yoga power I’m not going to be able to put a full stop. And, of course, if I can’t put a full stop then those waste thoughts interfere in my yoga also. But Baba’s definition of ‘be pure, be yogi’: put a full stop, and that’s mastery over the self. And so Baba commented on how there’s different stages within that also.

Instead of being able to put a full stop, you apply a comma, and at that point Baba commented that when you’re applying a comma, what’s happening then is that you’re thinking of others. “If they don’t do this then why should I do it?” So where I’m looking at others that’s the pause, the comma, and not putting a full stop, something’s happening and my thoughts are running and I excuse myself. Instead of saying “OK, stop it”, I say “Well, so and so is also part of this, they’re also doing it like this, so the comma.

And, then the question mark and, of course, Baba has often commented on the question marks, why, what, if, but, all of these things. And the third one, the exclamation mark. I’m shocked! I’m surprised! Baba’s mantra: ‘Nothing new, Drama’. Drama is fixed. Drama is predestined. Why should I be shocked? Why should I be surprised? That also indicates that I haven’t learnt to put a full stop as yet. And, full stop. It’s easy. In theory, it’s the easiest of all, but, of course, Baba is saying practise it. Practise it for a week and just see how you get on with it and it’ll then determine that final mantra that Baba has given us. ‘Your final thoughts lead you to your destination.’ And, always this question comes. Is it always just that one thought? That one thought is determined by all my other thinking that’s been going on. And if my other thinking has been about others, if my thinking has been about why and what and … so that’s going to take me off into different directions. It’s certainly not going to lead me to God and it’s not going to lead me to my own highest destination, or what it is that I could have achieved otherwise. So Baba connecting that full stop, if you’re not able to put a full stop now, practise it, give attention to it and just check yourself.

The whole subject is about introversion and checking myself. Sometimes it’s easy for others to point out. Sometimes it’s not easy. But certainly it’s only Baba and I who know what’s going on inside. And, so Baba’s giving me all the information and all the tools, all that I need to be able to make the changes within, and so definitely in this particular case, that lesson, my final thoughts are going to be determined by what’s going on today. It’s not just going to suddenly happen but to what extent am I able to say “Stop”, and the brake is on. I say “Stop” and the brake comes on a little while later. Meanwhile lots of things have happened. In a car an accident happens and in my thoughts, a lot of waste has happened, time, energy, a lot of things have gone by, so it’s very important to be practising this again. And again, Baba was talking about Amrit Vela and going on a tour to see what’s going on and what the children are doing.

So that state of mastery. Am I master first of my own intellect? And, if my intellect is filled with gyan, then it won’t allow waste thoughts to come. If my intellect has space for other things, then that’s where other thoughts can creep in and so, my task – and Baba was connecting these waste thoughts with the full stop obviously – but my task is to make sure that I keep my intellect engaged either with Baba or with Baba’s knowledge, all the treasures that Baba gives me every single day. And I really am sometimes surprised at how Baba has given attention to the fact that Sakar Baba should give us a murli every single day, and then Avyakt BapDada, how is it that we’ve got this treasure store of all these murlis, that started in 1969 and we’re already into the 1990 murlis. So we have sakar treasures. We have the avyakt treasures and if we want to go back and look at other things there’s so many classes from all the Dadis but also all the trance messages that we’ve had through the years. Amazing detail about the quality of effort that we need to make and how to be able to make it. Sometimes you come across something by chance and it really touches your buddhi, your intellect, and you keep it there and then it disappears and something else comes but Baba just makes sure that there’s a constant flow of very, very powerful treasures so that our intellect is never, never empty. And, if the intellect is kept full and complete then there’s no space for waste thoughts to come in.

So, let me first be –the soul is everything – but the soul is first of all checking its buddhi. What’s there within my buddhi? What am I carrying? Is it the things of the past? Is it things of worry and anxiety for the future? Or is it really the treasures that Baba is filling me with today? And, so the more I pay attention as to what the quality of my buddhi is and how clean it is, without anything else coming in there, to that extent then I’m going to have the power to have a hold on my mind. So this is why then Baba says “Every day, churn”.

Baba asked Dadi Janki a question in Amritsar in the early ‘50s. Early morning and Dadi had gone to Baba and Baba said to her “Janak, do you churn?” And she didn’t want to say no to Baba and she couldn’t say yes, so she was silent. But from that Baba understood and Baba said “You’ve been blessed with a big head and so you’ve got a big container and so fill that with treasures by churning every single day, and it became a blessing.

Somebody asked me yesterday I think, “Baba has said beautiful things but how can I make them my blessing?” Well, practise them. Dadi didn’t just hear it and say, okay then I’ll do it tomorrow. She started immediately and she kept it up all the time, all the time. Not just early morning but through the day. Hansa and I would laugh and say that something’s happened and she’s going to talk about it in class. Why, because whatever had happened she was already churning and interpreting the spiritual connection of that. So, we knew that she’d be talking about it in class and sure enough she did and so out of all of that churning has come all of the profound truths that she’s left behind as the legacy. Thousands and thousands of classes that are still available if you want to study them. So, my point is that there’s a huge amount of material. Fill the buddhi with that and then the mind being engaged in using these treasures first for the self and then, yes, for the world out there, whether it’s Brahmins or others. So the churning that goes on in the mind, the flow of energy that’s happening is clearing out whatever other things that were there from before. Churn and yesterday’s forgotten. Churn and tomorrow, you’re not worried or anxious about it. Churn, and you’re gaining power for yourself, nourishment for yourself and very beautiful material that others are going to appreciate also.

And, so Baba is pointing out the state in which you are the master of your mind and you don’t let your mind go here and there and everywhere but the brake is so powerful that it says “Stop” to the mind and the mind stops at that moment. So, no more negative or waste thoughts at all. And, yes, it’s connected with being the master of my sanskars. I carry the whole story of my journey of my 84 births but what is the time now? What is it I have to emerge now? Time to emerge my own deity sanskars and so the more I emerge those and not use the old sanskars - Dadi used to say that to us: “When do we learn to stop using our old sanskars and our old nature?” Some of you have been with Baba a long time so you’ll remember that these are the things that Dadi used to talk to us about, whether it was personal or whether it was in small groups or in classes. But she would use this expression: “Don’t use the old sanskars. Use the deity sanskars and they’ll emerge very powerfully and strongly.”

Another thing that Baba kept mentioning a few times in the murli was “Can you not hear the call of the time? Can you not hear the cries of those in distress? Can you not hear the bhagats who are calling out? And, if you can hear them then send them those pure good wishes of even a few drops of peace and happiness.” And, again if I’m too busy with all sorts of other stuff, first, I can’t hear the cries and (b) I don’t have the capacity to be able to fulfil their cries. Baba’s not talking about running to the temple and giving a talk there, Baba’s talking about being able to send them these thoughts in God’s remembrance, that sakaash that’s going to help them wherever they are. Are we going to run to Ukraine now? I doubt it. But what we can do is, yes, link up with the souls there and remember them, send Baba’s light and then continue with your yoga. You don’t remember them for half an hour when you’re having yoga. You remember them just for a few moments. That’s enough. You’ve pulled them in front of Baba and Baba is going to deal with it but you’ve shared from your heart that peace, that love that they need at this time. The power that they need at this moment. Baba mentioned it a few times in the murli.

And then in the closure of the murli Baba was talking about the royalty. Baba mentioned, personalty, reality and royalty in the context of purity. Yes, now it’s our swadharma. It’s the truth, it’s the reality. Swadharma: our original state of being. The natural state of being of the soul, purity. We often talk about ‘swadharma shanti’, the original state of being is peace. But equally our original state of being is that of purity. And, so let there be that reality, that natural state of purity now, but also then the reality that, yes, this is how it is today and that will then be the reality there. But Baba spoke at length about the royalty and how when you are in Paramdham the light that radiates from you souls even in Paramdham is a very royal quality of light, very different to everyone else. And, yes, just as the stars in the sky have different degrees and different percentages of light, but also in Paramdham different degrees of that royalty, of that light. And then when you come down in Satyug the royalty of your crown of light, that personality that is visible with such dignity and royalty.

And then in the Copper Age, fascinating how Baba mentions that when people go in front of the deities, the images, not the real deities, but just the images of the deities, the images still have such power that people are able to experience peace, people are able to experience the fulfilment of their desires, that state of purity where they’re able to speak to the deities with the truth of what’s going on in their life and in their hearts. Amazing! The quality of souls today and the role that they play through bhakti – of course looking at the cycle and how Baba explains it is fascinating, but I’m thinking about the Dadis and how someone would come in front of, whether it is Dadi Prakashmani, Didi Manmohini, or Dadi Gulzar, or Dadi Janki or Dadi Chandramani, they would feel content. Whatever was in their heart had been fulfilled. I meet lots of people nowadays who share lots of stories of the times that they met Dadi Janki or Dadi Prakashmani and (a) their questions were all answered without Dadi having to say anything. Just Dadi’s drishti was enough, but also sometimes, they didn’t say something and Dadi was able to intuitively know what was going on and she was able to fulfil their thought and she would speak about it or she would address it and it would get resolved. They would come with a particular desire but they would be too shy to express it and Dadi would know and that desire would be fulfilled.

So, we’ve seen how the Dadis have functioned in Sangamyug and so it’s very easy to understand that somehow that power gets conveyed to each of their bhagat souls in the Copper Age. And, so Baba talking about the royalty with which the images of the deities are cared for in bhakti. Yes, you have statues of politicians and warriors and even sadhus and saints and whatever. But the reverence, the sanctity with which they look after the images of the deities is quite something else. But, of course, Baba always connects it with Sangamyug, what you’re doing today, that’s how the bhagats treat your image, your deity image at that time. Now today Baba was talking about the royalty with which the bhagats care for the deities and so the word royalty came up quite a lot.

Personality, royalty, reality and so purity is all of that. So if ever anyone had any question “Why purity?”, well Baba’s murli definitely answered everything about that. So, very, very important to just go into the depth of the self and see, what is the quality of my purity? Is it absolutely as it should be and am I bringing it to the stage that Baba wants to see in me?

There was another very lovely passage that Baba mentioned in which Baba said at first, “your purity gives you happiness and when you give happiness to others you receive blessings” Baba used the word ‘duwa’, good wishes. Let’s change the language. The duwa that you get. You get those good wishes from others and you’ve given good wishes to yourself. And, a bit further on Baba said how when you really have purity, there are three types of ‘vardan’, blessings, that you receive. Firstly, you bless yourself. Secondly, you receive blessings from Baba because Baba sees you as a worthy child. And, thirdly, you receive blessings from the senior instruments who are responsible for taking care of the family because they again see that and they appreciate it. So that was also very touching. How Baba mentioned, what you do and the result of what you’re doing and the feeling that you get from others also. If others are seeing me with that love and are giving me blessings you can feel it, and if they’re not, you can feel that too.

I’ve been remembering how in a small gathering, way back in the ‘80s, we were still in Pandav Bhawan in those days and it was with a group of teachers after lunch and in those days Dadi used to say “Come and have fruits with me”, and it would be a plate, this big, with all sorts of varieties for everyone. And there was chit chat always, so Dadi asked the question “What effort are you making?”, and everybody answered, about thirty of us. And then somebody asked Dadi, “what effort are you making?” And Dadi’s response was: “When I leave I want to make sure that out of everyone’s heart there’s only good wishes for me, duwa. Satya dil se duwa nikle - that everybody should give me nothing but those good wishes from their heart. And, it stayed with me all these years because sometimes you do a lot of service but is it bringing me blessings? Is it bringing me good wishes from others? And, so Dadi, and of course she never stopped doing service. She was continually doing service but way back in the ‘80s and just imagine she carried on for another 27 years after that but it was this motivating thought, “Am I able to receive blessings from what I do now?” So think about it. Whatever it is that’s happening, it should be such that there are blessings from everyone’s heart that come my way. So a powerful murli and also lots of homework and Baba kept saying this is homework for you. This is what you have to keep checking and checking is not enough. Checking is the first step but then the change. So transformation leads to purity.

Sister Jayanti - 26th Sept 2021 - Avyakt Murli Revision of 27.03.1988

5 March 2022

Om shanti. This is a significant murli because it’s the second time Baba has mentioned how it’s Baba’s sakash that’s allowing the body to function. The last time also Baba said that we had to reduce the number of hours, the time allocated to each one has to be shared with others. And in this Baba said in a couple of words, it does not reduce the love in His heart. Baba was preparing us then, and again in this one, making us aware that the chariot isn’t too well. None of us understood that it was something very serious, and in the next few days Baba’s explained everything further, still not telling us what it is. You will hear that as the time goes on in the next few weeks but this one is a really very powerful signal and Baba really wants to complete the whole quarter for everybody who is there for personal meetings which are basically ones from abroad.

Brahmins from abroad have had a very special sustenance from Baba. Blessings that Baba spoke individually were also for all of us. Baba looking at the constellation of the stars. Ones who are giving light to the earth, the elevated ones, the ones who are bringing light in the world, into the darkness, and showing souls the right path. Baba was saying that it’s the Sun of knowledge, the Moon of knowledge and the lucky, lovely stars that Baba is seeing and sometimes that Baba use to say Gyan Surya; the sun of knowledge. It meant Shiv baba but also at times it meant Bapdada. When it meant Shiv Baba on his own, then Chandra-ma the Moon of knowledge, the senior mother “Chandra Maa,” The word mother comes there but sometimes Baba would mean Bapdada as the Sun of knowledge. One can't play the role without the other and then the moon of knowledge was known as Mama and all of us know the lucky lovely children. Baba was very generous.

Baba said all of you are the stars but each one has their own specialties. On the basis of what effort they have made, and the experience taken from Baba, the fruit of that experience is what you share with others. We see that is so true. If I am just memorizing and repeating words, it's not going to be effective. If there is something I have taken from Baba and I have used it in my life and I have shared it on the basis of my own experience, yes, then the arrow is more likely to hit the target. I’ll be bringing other souls closer to Bapdada. Then Baba mentioned that apart from lucky and the lucky ones, there are some that are very close, some that are the stars of success. In that Baba said that stars of success are ones that don’t have to make any effort in an external way with hard work. Because they are so close to Bapdada and they feel that success is their birthright, that faith and intoxication actually enables them to move forward without any labor. Yes, the effort, the labor is also number-wise but it really depends on the sense of closeness to Baba. The closer I feel to Bapdada, the easier it is to actually become the one that is able to go further and further beyond without any labor, any struggle.

Each is number-wise within that but you must have noticed over the many murli’s you have been hearing that Baba appreciates the fact that souls are able to keep a high consciousness, so that then everything comes easy for them. The reason why it doesn’t sometimes feel easy, but feels laborious is because the consciousness has come down a little, the awareness is not so high, and so everything becomes more of a labor, more of a effort. What Baba would like to see is where souls are able to have the highest consciousness, the highest awareness and so to be able to fly through without any labor. He likes to see his children very happy, light and easy. Baba then also expands; that the brightness of the stars is very different which is what we see in terms of the constellations in the sky. Baba sometimes calls these the stars not of the earth, but the stars up there are the constellations in the sky. Some stars have a bright light, others have brightness but not as much, and then there are some who are actually, one moment seeing it, another moment you see the shooting star. You see it falling, or sometimes you see a comet; you see a star with a long tail. Baba gave the explanation for both of those on a spiritual level.

Sometimes somebody seems to be shiny, bright but somewhere along the line something has happened and there is a crash, and so that star is shooting downwards. The stars with a tail, the comet; these are the stars who have many questions. There are two types of questions: one is a question of inquiring, in which I am clarifying Baba’s versions, Baba’s explanations of gyan and yoga. That’s fine, that's not a comet star, that's clarification. I can use that understanding of effort, but the other type of star, asking again and again: Why is this happening? It shouldn’t be happening like thisWhy did it have to happen like that? Everything is okay, but these are the questions that keep arising. Until I get to the point where I realize that I have to learn to accept the drama, I wont keep saying what if, but maybe they should or why this happened? All of those questions used a huge amount of time and energy on the person who is questioning. Also they take the questions to many other individuals and they take questions not only to one individual, their questions go here and there. Whoever they are meeting, whosoever they are sitting with, the same questions come up. So a lot of internal questioning: Why? What? If, maybe, but, if only. They become instrumental in sowing seeds of doubt in others, but also it distracts them; even if it’s not doubt that’s coming in the intellect of those I am talking to, but certainly it’s the waste of time and energy and a real distraction and so what was the fate of those souls? At the moment Baba’s seeing them as a star with a long  tail, but of course the future also, if time hasn’t been used wisely, if I carried the burden of having a waste of time of others, what does that mean for me?

Baba is very clear about all of this, and so let me see how close I am to the mother and the Father. Let me see what it is I need to do further to let me come close. The closer I am, the greater the inspiration I’ll have to be able to serve others, and also the greater the inner power I will have to be able to change the minds of others. Baba spoke about this and said some stars have that capacity to be able to change the minds of others, they are not doing it for selfish motives. I know that in lokik life, people who influence the minds of others probably had a selfish interest, but in this case Baba is saying that your pure thoughts, your highest consciousness can change the mind of others and bring them closer to God. Always remember you are not just a lucky or lovely star because there are millions of those, but I am a star of success. Success is my birth-right and with this intoxication and this power from Baba everything is going to work out. It's all going to be absolutely fine. Drama will be like that. I don’t need to have questions of why, if, what. As things are unfolding, are we understanding and appreciating the significance of them? Are we giving that explanation of understanding in a deeper, more meaningful way to others who I can see have these questions. Who can resolve these questions within myself and help others to resolve these questions?

Then this beautiful personal meeting, but at the end Baba also spoke about Global Cooperation for a Better World. The first project was major. It was an international Million Minutes of Peace Appeal. It was actually the UN who asked us to host the second project. We were given that label; the peace messenger. We were then asked to do a peace messenger initiative and so Global Cooperation became that. Baba’s talking about the fun and games we were having creating something, changing it around and spending many hours in discussions working our way through all the ifs and buts. Not only was it America, Africa and all the America’s, and then Europe, UK also. It too was the southern region, the Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand. Soon after starting Global Cooperation Russia came on board. Until that time it hadn’t yet started. We had contacted them to be a part of the Million Minutes but that was a very official government body that had participated for the UN International Year of Peace. There was not any centre or Brahmin there yet. They came later, but at this point you can imagine all these different cultures coming together. The time around Global Cooperation was with the addition of Bharat. That brought a whole different dynamic onto the scene both in terms of numbers, but numbers in Bharat were already huge, but also in terms of attitude, perception and what sort of results we are looking for. It was a lot of fun and games and Baba was pleased and would say that all the plans you are making, yes, they will take practical shape. They are happy taking shape so far. Baba says how if you have a balance in terms of thinking: yes, it's great to have a balanced, planning intellect.

Baba loves those children who use their intellect for service. But on the one side Baba’s appreciating us and on the other side Baba’s reminding us that apart from the plans, experience the plain yoga stage in which other things are not interfering. When you sit for yoga, not thinking about plans, not thinking about projects. Just Baba, and if you manage to keep the balance of planning, yes, but also with that connection with Baba.  Your own stage of yoga is needed for that, then you receive many  blessings. This perfect balance will ensure that you are accumulating blessings and they are going to continue right till the end. On the role of service, Baba said that this means that the Bhandari and Bhandara will be constantly flowing, constantly open. Bhandara also means the kitchen and so see Madhuban’s kitchen. The first fire is lit at 2:30 am so that the tea for the thousands of people can be ready by 3:30 am, and people can come have their chai and coffee and go for Amrit vela. Just as that is open for early morning from all the way through to 11:30 at night, constantly non-stop. In the same way the Bhandara of service is constantly open and is filled with blessings right until the end. So there always are some forms of service or another.

One very specific aspect I want to take up - from the individual blessings Baba is talking about - is service in different ways. Service through the mind, service through words and the service through actions. Service from the mind uses pure, powerful thoughts to send out sakaash to the world. The result? You will fill with that inner experience of happiness. You can feel that your thoughts and Baba’s gyan have reached others and given them that help. Baba said many do service through words and that’s fine, it's good, but if you have done service in the right consciousness, then that is the highest form of service because souls would be given some attainment, some fruit. Baba spoke about karma seva; the service through actions, the service through the body. Baba said that this is the very elevated form of service and when you are doing service with your body, this is what brings you the visible fruit. The visible return - you made a good meal, whether it's for ten or a hundred or a thousand, but people are appreciative and so they are expressing that appreciation. One person who is giving a lecture somewhere and that person is speaking to a thousand people, but people who are doing karma seva are appreciating that instantly, whether it’s a small family or big Madhuban family. They are experiencing such blessings that they from their heart are giving blessings to one another from that karma seva, that physical exercise of hard work and of yoga. It’s very lovely that Baba doesn’t let anyone feel today that they are less than anyone else. Baba’s elevating each one to their higher stage. What you are doing is great, keep doing, carry on doing. Baba has this beautiful ability to acknowledge and recognize the speciality of absolutely every single part of the family. It was somebody who was more engaged in karma yoga than other types of service so Baba really showered so much love and elevated their consciousness to the very highest.

These are some of the highlights from the very short murli we had and then the short passage of Global Cooperation. The success of Global Cooperation actually was that Baba gave it His special attention. Everything began in Madhuban, continued in Madhuban and the final step  also was Madhuban. Every step along the way Madhuban was involved, Baba was involved, all the blessings that came our way, Baba was showering those. The Dadi’s were involved in that whole journey, in that particular project, so very lovely memories of that also. Those souls who had that experience of meeting Baba personally there are very precious memories for those souls. I am sure many of those listening now are part of those fortunate souls who did have that opportunity. Om shanti

Q: Explain Global Cooperation for a Better World project. What was involved ?

A: At the end of December 1985, we knew that the UN designated the next year as the International Year of Peace and the NGO’s were going to be invited to submit their ideas from any project. At the end of December, a group of BKs in Australia who were driving down to the beach as it was summer time, Christmas time, and one of the persons in the car suddenly said “Million Minutes of Peace” and it was a very catchy phrase. So Charlie wrote to what later became the RC office - the regional coordinating office - which didn’t exist at that time, but he knew of the UN office. He sent us the message that one of the brothers had an idea for a million minutes of peace. I immediately called Charlie and asked: how it will work and what sort of project it is, and he laughed and said, “Well, we haven’t given it any time yet. We haven’t given any thought about it further”. And the UN office also, Baba’s office hasn't given any detailed attention. Everybody was busy with many things, but a little group got together in London and we worked on that idea. One of the things that we wanted just a year before it, was an appeal for Africa. I think it was Feminine Ethiopia and there was a whole project. This very famous band was going to collect money to donate to Africa, to Ethiopia, and one person in that group mentioned that people like to give something. They feel they have a lot and how they will give the return of that whether it is the universe, destiny or God. We do something in which we involve people giving something, and of course we are not asking people to donate money, that is not what Baba’s work is about. So what would they donate? As we churned, Baba’s presence must have been with us, Dadi’s presence with us, and so an idea emerged.

We wanted people to donate a minute of silence. We knew in the UK and western Europe generally, God wasn’t so much in the picture. So maybe some countries were focused on prayers and some countries on meditation. But some with nothing, and so we thought that people could donate minutes of silence through peace; either through prayer, or through meditation or through positive thoughts. So we offered these three things and that collected the billion plus minutes, and the project reached 88 countries. Even though we existed at that time in around 60 countries, the project reached beyond where we had centres and into 88 countries and as a result that. I am giving you a bare bones, but a lot of discussion, a lot of ins and outs before we finally decided to use that month between the International Day of Peace and the UN day of peace; that time period where people are going to give a million minutes, collecting minutes, and it was quite an amazing thing. Parliament gave minutes of peace, the different leaders of three political parties at that time had their conferences, and they let the whole conference be silent, school assemblies gave minutes of peace. And so it was a huge number we collected. India didn’t participate. They hadn’t quite understood what the project was all about but somehow it captured the imagination of people. It became the largest peace project for the International Year of Peace organized by an NGO and we were all exhausted at the end of this project, so we had a grand finale. The opening was in the parliament of London and the finale was in New York at Saint John cathedral and that was when Cannon Castle (?) came very close to us and he has played a beautiful role in service ever since. So it was quite an amazing thing that happened, but together with that we got physically exhausted, and it happened without any budget. Somebody gave us a flat in a very exclusive part of London, St John's Wood. She said use it for as long as you need for this project and it was like an office for us. Baba got seven peace messenger awards for that: one was international for Mount Abu so Dadi Prakashmani came to New York to collect that. Six other countries: Brazil, Trinidad and the UK, Mauritius and I think Costa Rica, Australia. Different countries got individual peace messenger awards also and on the back of that we invited James Jonah who was the Assistant Secretary General responsible for what was then described as the Peace Studies Unit.

He came to Madhuban the following year for the conference. He met the dadis; we took him along and all the three dadis were there, Sister Gayatri and myself, Mohiniben and Dr Nirmala were there. It was quite a gathering in Dadiji’s meeting room in Pandav Bhawan. He said to the dadis that the UN has asked me if the Brahma Kumaris could host a peace messenger initiative. They looked at us, and we were going like this, and the dadis looked at each other. James was aware of what we were going to say, but he wanted to hear what the dadis had to say and the dadis said, well, we always say yes for any service opportunity that comes, we never say no and so there we were. This was 1987 and you’ve heard other murli’s about Global Cooperation for a Better World. In Hindi it was translated as a suhkarma sanskar. It’s a little bit of a different translation but that’s the terminology we were using and that was again very interesting, and it took a lot of discussion and the instruction came from Baba you must create a bank, and the banks were giving people a very hard time around then. From time to time it happens but especially at that time, and what happened was we got a message from Baba. Dadi Gulzar phoned me and I was back in London by then. Baba is saying that there should be some type of bank in which you accumulate something and the instant reaction was nobody likes the word bank, but Dadi Gulzar, I had to call her back. This is the response of the group. She said no, this is definitely what Baba is saying. So we came up with the idea of what sort of cooperation are we expecting people to give, and the idea came that if we could have people think about their vision of a better world, secondly how they see relationships in that better world, and thirdly how they see themselves in the better world. On the basis of these three questions they would share their vision and that would be their donation to this bank of the Global Cooperation. You can imagine it took a lot of discussion, a lot of thrashing out, and all sorts of discussions. So what Baba said is that you spend four hours, but instead of that with yoga you will spend one hour. We got better and better at it but it took time. One of the things we did in small groups, we would say okay, one of the golden rules is that you only use positive language. For example if my vision is of a world without war, that’s a negative statement, so can I turn it around and say my vision is of a peaceful world. It’s incredible, sometimes people in a small group of six or eight, and we’d be going around the circle, and it would sometimes take people about 20 minutes or longer to start understanding what it meant to give a positive vision instead of a negative vision. Surprising isn’t it? That was the actual experience, but also we would say: no negative language at all. The final question - what can you do today to create a better world? A family in Greece was talking about how many in their home, and they came up with a plan in their home they would have one room in their sitting room where they all gathered in the evenings and that would be a no complaints zone. Only happy conversation there. Just brilliant!  A woman in Japan wrote that her vision was of green areas, green space, and beautiful environments. You can see it was very connected to their situations, culture, geography and everything. The question came: what can you do to make that happen? There was this idea of space, of freedom and so on. She said I'm going to create one corner in my home which is only for me where I can be completely free, and I can meditate, dream and have visions of a better world. So the flats in Tokyo literally posted stamps. And so she could have a little space where she had curtained off. Shoeshine boys in Brazil said instead of stealing each other’s brushes we are going to cooperate, and I lend my brushes to other children in the group.

Beautiful things that came were very heartwarming. Those visions were very powerful. We had an international committee and every country had a national committee of patrons; so a couple of brahmins and many non-brahmins.We had princes, princesses and queens join the whole project; the Queen of Spain invited Dadi Prakashmani to meet her. Then Dadi came abroad. So amazing things were happening. It was God’s magic. Baba was touching souls and moving things. Baba said leave it to Me if you’re finding something difficult, just tell Baba. Baba will take care of it. Magical things were happening in this way. The launch was at the Houses of Parliament and we had top celebrities participating in that. Really amazing things, and out of the responses that came through what we did was to create what we called the People’s Vision and that was based on values. That’s what came out from everywhere; values based, and we also wanted people to actually act out their vision, or to sing songs or have poetry or prose, or have a program that would celebrate the end of the project, the finale. The beautiful things that were sent in, it took us several months to sift through all of that and come up with the summary. That was then the Global Vision and the people who are the project patrons from across the world came to Madhuban, they came from the USA, they came from the Philippines, from all over the world and it was an amazing gathering. This gathering  in front of Baba at some point also, really powerful things happened in those days. Baba not only gave blessings to all the individuals, and gave them that boost to move forward in terms of Baba’s double foreign children, but Baba’s vision was very much focused on service outside the whole world. Bharat had been served so well, but now Baba himself was serving the wider world. It just made sure that things moved very fast so that’s an idea. The small glimpse. There is a whole book that’s been published and I am sure in every country your national office would have that, and you could have a look at it.

Q: Might using too much intellect become the reason for exit from gyan?

A: The context of it is exactly the same as I was sharing two minutes earlier. Baba was saying that you are using your intellects for planning and so planning service is very different to churning; what if, maybe that, maybe this, maybe other. Even using your intellect in trying to say you know why Baba has said this, why did Baba say this, or why did Dadi say this. You are trying to pull gyan apart. Baba has said something, it has significance and so let me spend my time in silence with humility appreciating these are the words of the Almighty. Let me spend my time with humility reflecting on this and maybe then I’ll be able to understand why Baba is saying this? Otherwise it's exactly as you say; I think I’m being very clever, very smart but I am actually using the intellect to cut my own feet, and not moving forward with this. To use my intellect for Baba’s service, planning intellect, Baba said He loves those children. You're keeping yourself out of the mix, you are keeping your mind happily busy in Baba’s service and so Baba’s going to give you blessings. It’s a very different situation, so that’s why it’s good you asked about the whole project because it was very much part of this project. How we put across this message to others and even when we use this word vision at that time remember this is 1988. We said within the group, a number of you said create the vision of your better world and that’s your donation to the global bank. A few people reacted to the word vision and they said; no we don’t want to use the word vision and of course a couple of years later… Every cooperation, every business had within it’s game: What it’s purpose? What it’s mission and what it’s vision? And so Baba was touching intellects and using intellects to plan things. There were some who went different directions and then they would be like; Baba saying you spend four hours making and breaking, adjusting and finishing and then this, we came closer and time we spent on creating something was less, and a lot more began to get done. Yes, using your intellect to pull out bones from the gyan, instead of understanding what that is and why Baba said. You realize who is speaking and you have that faith in the One who is actually saying those things to us. The first is acceptance and then there is experience and then the details become clear.

Q: Is there any ego justifying my laziness or lack of contentment? What is going on?

A: Questions about gyan which are totally irrelevant and unnecessary leading me into blind alley ways, that is ego. Questions where things are happening around me and I am challenging those and not accepting drama, then in that sense it's my lack of adaptability. My lack of adaptability, my lack of stability with the drama, and saying drama is doing this way. Say drama is accurate and let me go with the flow. If I am saying it should be this way and it should be that way, I am fighting and struggling and partly is ego, and also its lack of acceptance. To go with the flow. I think it should go this way and it's going another way, so I can’t take it, I can't accept it. So, there are different reasons why we get stuck, ultimately it’s body consciousness and ego. Also it may be a lack of acceptance and it may be sometimes my control issues. I want things to go a certain way and it cannot go that way and so I am upset, disappointed and I am discontent so different things can happen.

Q: What is a good way to acknowledge that you are on the right track ?

A: Firstly, If things I think are going well with my gyan, my yoga, my relationships, service, all of these things, my dharna then when I sit  in front of Baba - I can feel Baba’s reaching me. The fact that I am experiencing Baba’s love, I am able to catch it and feel it, that’s a very good acknowledgment that I am on track. Sometimes  I think I am doing fine but when I sit in front of Baba I am not experiencing that love reaching me genuinely, and so that should be a very big signal that things are not as I thought they were. There has to be something that I have to explore and sort out so that I can get back to that stage where I can feel Baba’s love reaching me. Then there is a situation like the one that I mentioned today with the personal meetings. That blessing about karma yoga, and now if I am karma yogi then can I take this blessing as something for me and what Baba talks about here is that karma yoga can be very elevated. Karma yoga can bring you immediate fruit of great happiness, but you have to recognize the value of who you are, what you are doing and who you are doing it for. If I am doing karma yoga simply because I am asked to do it, it's never going to bring me that joy and that upliftment. Somebody may ask me but do I really do it with my heart? Feeling it's my fortune to be able to do this, this is something I know how to do and have been offered the opportunity to do in Baba’s house. The degree of my happiness just goes shooting up. If I do it with that love, with the big smile, and it's going to be with a sense of joy and fortune and the radiance that generates and creates within whatever it is I do whether it is cleaning, cooking or typing. Sometimes you have to type and type and do administration for hours and hours but whom am I doing it for? I am not doing it for a human being, I am doing it with love for Baba but I also know I am creating my fortune, so take any blessings that resonate with you as your own personal blessing. The third thing; I think it was 2010 and Dadi Gulzar was in Paris around that time. There was a big hall and we were having all the classes there. It was like a retreat centre of the city, Brahmins were accommodated and we had hired accommodation for about 300 people. People from France, people from neighbouring countries were there and Dadi was asked this question: how come we don’t have the opportunity of the blessings in the way those who came earlier did? Her response was very lovely, Dadi Gulzar said: What you are reading in each day’s murli is a blessing for you, and if you take it that way it's like a seed and so hold the seed in your mind, but keep watering it with love, giving it attention. If you keep watering it with love, giving it attention, that seed is going to germinate and it's going to flower and so your attention to each day's murli and practicing what Baba had said in the blessings will make it come true for you. Seeds are being scattered all over the world but how many allow them to stay and take root and water them so that they can start sprouting and bearing fruit? We sort of see these blessings in our lives. So different ways to approach this but certainly the third one everybody can take out from their experience, try it.

Q: When Baba says accumulate the power of silence - what does he mean?

A: Think about a child’s piggy bank; you are putting in pennies and by the end of the week or by the end of the month or by the end of the year quite a good amount has been accumulated. Again something with Dadi Gulzar; she has said to us that maybe you do your morning meditation, you do your evening meditation. Through the day you sit in meditation in few minutes and not even in just traffic control, any other time, maybe you are waiting for the bus stop, you are waiting for the train, you are waiting for somebody to come, instead of thinking how long they are going to come, why they keep you waiting, it’s an opportunity for me. Simply use your mind to connect with Baba and go into silence, it’s a few minutes, maybe one minute but the experience it gives you personally fills you with power, spiritual power. So you put in one minute worth, three minutes worth of silence into your little box and the accumulation would be visible for you to feel you becoming more and more content and full and how everything seems to be happening in a much smoother way than before. You practice doing this and there will be a transformation.

Q: Why is it that Sakar Baba was very strict and disciplinary? Whereas Avyakt Bapdada is motherly and caring?

A: Sometimes, the people feel it’s the other way; that Brahma Baba and Shiv Baba speaking the Sakar murli make it so natural, so light, so easy. Baba is pointing out in those times Dharamraj and these are the principles you have to follow, and if you don’t follow them, that is going to be your future. So that was your preparation of understanding of gyan, understanding of yoga, understanding of dharna and the ground is being prepared, layered and it’s the foundation. Without that powerful foundation there would be nothing further, and then Baba himself is experiencing, practicing and sharing his experiences and Baba flies away. Then Baba sees that the children are absolutely lost and so Shiv baba comes and tells His children; I am going to come and keep meeting you, sustain you and meet you, and so the Avyakt murli begins. That first time is only Shiv Baba, and Shiv Baba is like the commander of the army. There is love but also there is lot of information about what is going to happening in 50 plus years the whole blueprint is to layed out for us to follow and then within the Avayakt murli’s baba is very clear Why is Baba talking about the stars to fall? Baba is telling us there are souls who do that. Why is Baba telling us about the stars with tails? Where am I? I am one of those. Avayakt Baba is very explicit and Baba is categorising them in number 1, number 2 and many more. Sometimes Baba says; I’ll leave it for your imagination what the rest is like and so actually Avyakt Bapdada’s language is deeply spiritual Not ordinary language like Sakar Baba, and so Avayakt Baba’s language is very profoundly spiritual. Baba’s message is, first part is love, upliftment and empowerment but as the murli goes on Baba’s explaining about the mistakes we make, about the maya, the illusions that come our way, the distractions we experience. Baba is very explicit and clear. Sometimes we don’t catch the depth of it and so we say it was a lovely murli, but it was also a very powerful message. I don't actually grasp it, I don't actually understand what I need it to do. Avyakt Baba is also talking about omnipresence and so Baba or the God of the Gita, Baba, says if you are a Brahmin you will understand that. Baba doesn’t need to repeat - that’s your gyan foundation. Furthermore, what you need is yoga, you need dharna, you understand the gyan. You understood the mechanics of yoga but what are the stages of yoga, what are the depths of that experience, how can you come to that stage, what is the Karmateet stage? What is the Avyakt stage? Who we are hearing these words from? We will see Brahma Baba moved forward and had attained this stage, but not doing it ourselves, and so Avyakt Baba needed to explain. These are the things Baba used to practice. This is why you saw these results, and so this is the method and this is the result. Avyakt Bapdada is very clear and very explicit. In fact the murlis are even stronger than the Avyakt murlis but we don’t always understand this because Baba’s style of speaking and language is quite different.

Q: What does supersensuous joy feel like, and can we feel it all the time ?

A: Yes, we can feel it all the time. We see all the dadi’s sparkled with supersensuous joy. It means a joy which is beyond the senses. Inner experiences also then reflected through our senses, my eyes reflect that happiness, the words I speak are of happiness, the actions I perform are to share happiness with others.

Q: How do you see the future service of mega programs ?

A: There is a lot of joy, a lot of pressure and a lot of dancing of sanskars, and so all of that happens. And a huge amount of money, There would be some mega programs; specially in Bharat but abroad they might not be doing mega programs, but rather smaller, gatherings with others. I see that media is definitely the way that God’s message is going to reach the world, and so whether it’s online programs in which multi-thousands can come together and whether it's zoom classes for specific groups, or whatever, and public events that many can join. For example, Diwali in this square is taking place this year and so the organizers are going to be there in the square but everything else for the vast public is going to be on screen. So they are working it out and I can see where it used to be; the greater London council really used to take care of the budget of that, but now it's going to be different. But it is still going to reach thousands more.

Q: Can you explain the exact meaning of Satopradhan?

A: Satopradhan means total purity. Purity in my thoughts, attitude, vision, my speaking, my doing, my relationship with humans, and in my relationship with nature. It should be completely pure in my perfect state so it's the very beginning of that stage of sparkling purity and total beauty that is satopradhan; the soul and body as well as matters of all levels.

Q: Can we experience it now or later ?

A: Today I can experience the inner purity or inner beauty, but I can’t experience the purity of the body, I can’t experience the purity of fruits and flowers. The veggies that we get today, even if they are organic, are not so pure, they are not so wholesome. So no, you don’t experience it today.

Sudesh Didi – 1st March 2022 Shiv Jayanti Morning Class - GCH, London: Ritual and Spiritual

1 March 2022

Om shanti.
Happy Shiv Jayanti, Sat Trimurti Shiv Jayanti; Sat, Chit, Ananda (Truth, Conscient, Blissful); Satiyam, Shivam, Sundaram (Truth, benevolent and beautiful). Kya Matalab? What is the meaning? God is Truth. All the Murlis contrast the understanding of human beings, the misunderstanding, blind faith, rituals, fear and desires.

What is bhakti (devotion) based on? It is love and faith. But what have creeped in? Fear and tension. Where there is love, there cannot be fear. Where there's clear understanding, there's courage for transformation and purification. Where there is reality, there is spirituality. Natural purushar, that is, effort, but right understanding is needed. In the Murlis, Baba shows us the contrast between what is spirituality and what is rituals.

The spiritual aspects have become rituals; what is internal has become external. This is a kind of game which attracts the eyes, which keeps the system busy for the whole day. But what is the achievement? So, Baba tells us that this is a spiritual birth; this is spiritual knowledge; this is a spiritual university for universal truth and spiritual truth.

The universal truth of nature is also universal truth. Everywhere, nature has the same impact, same effect and the same laws. In the same way, wherever there is spirituality, whether it is a spiritual leader or somebody living a spiritual life, their reality would be purity, royalty, greatness in life, in every aspect, of clean, pure, benevolent, which is beneficial for the self as well as for others.

When you follow the truth, the soul becomes beautiful. Generally, everything the eyes see attracts the soul. When there is spirituality, it becomes only rituals. So, the nice things in the celebration which look attractive, in reality, is the real offering of the self, the real relationship with pure consciousness, with a clean heart.

On the part of bhakti, we celebrated by keeping the images. Image gives a vision, but image does not give the power. Because of faith, one can receive something as a reward, but it does not mean all achievements are within that. But when there is true understanding, you begin to do things in a practical way, in the right way. If we look at the rituals now, there is the Shivling everywhere. In the worship of Shivling, all the things which are offered are of shape, that is, the shape of a coconut. Baba opens our third eye, and they make the big Shiva Lingam with coconut; mountain after mountain of coconut, as much as 18 feet high.

When somebody leaves the body, on all sides, they keep Shiva Lingam, in the hope that God will take him, whether he would be taken from the east, west, north or south, wherever he would go, God would open his third-eye and he would see. But the coconut Shiva Lingam they are putting will actually burn in fire. The real meaning is that when God opens the third eye, whether you go north or west, south or east, wherever you go, you are able to see your destination.

So, Baba comes and makes us trikaldarshi and trilokinath; He makes us into jyoti lingam, taking away the bondages of all the external things. The soul is the Saligram, and it is a symbol of Shivling. The Saligram surrenders itself to God.

This pear is offered on the day. Why is Shivratri special? The fruit signifies that when you are becoming soul conscious, only then you will receive a reward. When you surrender yourself, you have to keep a fast. This is the determination of transformation, of purification.

They always offer the intoxicating drink bhaang made of cannabis. They grind the herbs and offer it, thinking Shiva also had this bhaang and became intoxicated.  In fact, it is the intoxication of churning the knowledge.

Then, henna. You have to grind the powder in order for your hand to be coloured. So, Baba is giving different aspects of life of knowledge, but you have to grind it, then you are coloured with that colour. Churn it, earn it, you have the intoxication of the knowledge you are receiving from Baba. On the path of bhakti, it became addictions; it becomes habits.
Surrender the self completely; surrender all the old sanskaras.  The deities are offered fragrant flowers, but Shiva are offered uck flowers; uck means bitter flower. The one who is uck looks beautiful but is poisonous. If the milk of the flower goes into the eye, it will blind the eye. So, what is attracting you might make you blind. Sanskaras which are powerful attract you, tempt you and influence you; blocking your third eye, blocking your vision. So, sacrifice all the old sanskaras. Baba says, “Surrender them and I will offer you flowers. With these flowers, you can give to others. Give me your poison, and I give you flowers. I will make you into a flower. With the flowers of knowledge and virtues that you give to others, even your statues will bestow divine qualities and divine virtues.”

Baba has come to purify you. So, on the path of bhakti, devotees have so much love and faith in the Shivling. They pour drums and drums of milk, to bathe Shiva. Shiva is pleased when you give him a bath in milk. In fact, Shiva is pleased when He gives us the bath of nectar. Every day we are soaked in God's love, God's truth, God's bliss and happiness. Baba is offering sat, chit, anand,

Truth touches the heart, and life is blissful. Satyam Shivam Sundaram. God is truth, we recognise and understand the benevolent aspect of God. We practise it and become beautiful. Baba is making us divine through His Divine Birth, alokik incarnation. He doesn't take birth, but incarnates from the Incorporeal form to make us bodiless.

Shiv Jayanti is actually about giving us new birth, divine birth, making our lives, as Baba says, like a diamond, heerey tulya (as valuable as a diamond). A real diamond life. From a shell, we change into a diamond. A shell is empty, but beautiful from the outside. In India, they say the Delisha namuna, antar mitti baa tutna. It's only a show, a design; the inside is nothing, empty and dusty; the outside is a beautiful decoration. So, this is what the world is like. So, Baba changes the shell into a valuable diamond. Nothing can break it.

My faith is strong; my love is unbreakable, unshakable; my purity is eternal. Baba comes and purifies us. And then, in our memorial, on the path of bhakti, it is a ritual; on the path of knowledge, it is spiritual. When we understand the spiritual aspect of life, our lives become divine. Then, we are able to give this gift to others also.

When we share this Godly gift, there is happiness. Happy Shiv Jayanti. Happy your birthday, happy my birthday. Actually, on the path of bhakti, every Monday they celebrate Shiva’s Day. It is a special day. It is the day of silence; it is the day to sacrifice I. It is the day, not for cutting the physical throat, but cutting that throat with the power of silence with the sound of sweetness. The head serves Ravan. So, the ego says, “I am head.” “I am great.” Surrendering this and many other aspects of body consciousness make us sweet. So, this is how the system of sweet toli came about.  Now you will have meditation, and then you will get toli. Om shanti.
