5 Sept | Sr Jayanti with Sir Peter Fahy | Inner Stability, Safety & Support in Difficult Times

30 August 2020

Everywhere we turn in these present times, it can seem there is something that is sapping our energy – something that is placing us under ever-increasing strain. Whether it’s the pandemic, the lockdown, news at home and abroad, fears about the future, anxiety about the present - it can feel as if the weight of the world is on our shoulders.

How do we lighten this load? How do we find a way of being that builds our energy and strength – and leaves us feeling hopeful and confident in ourselves - no matter what is happening in the world around us? What do we need to do to find the inner stability and security that will give us the lightness to see us through these times?

Sister Jayanti is European Director of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University and their NGO Representative to the United Nations, Geneva. For over 50 years, she has been an emissary for peace. She has a vision and experience that is truly global and deeply spiritual and is a highly respected international speaker. She sees the erosion of spiritual values as the underlying cause of the crises that the world is facing today. She is an author of a number of books and ‘the voice’ of many uplifting meditation commentaries.

Sir Peter Fahy was a police officer for 34 years and finished his career in 2015 as Chief Constable of Greater Manchester. On leaving policing he was appointed Chief Executive of the street children charity Retrak which he later merged with Hope for Justice which focuses on human trafficking and modern slavery. He is Chair of the National Housing Federation Community Integration group. He holds a number of other trustee positions and in 2017 founded the Community Cohesion charity We Stand Together. He was knighted for services to policing in 2012.

Food for the Soul': An Online Series ~ Chasing Limited Desires  - An Online Event on 1st September Hosted by BK Brighton, UK

28 August 2020

If your mind has any limited desires, they will not allow you to become content.

When you are walking in the sun, your shadow goes ahead of you, and if you try to catch it, you won’t be able to.  When you turn around, your shadow will follow you.  In the same way, desires attract you and make you cry.  Let go of them and they will follow you.  Those who ask for something can never become full and complete.  To chase any limited desire is like trying to catch a mirage.

A short talk with a chance to ask questions and ending with a meditation.  Why NOT take a break and join us?

Here is the link to join us live using Zoom ID: 862 7036 3285 - Password: 017098.

The host will connect you when the event starts.  Please keep your microphone muted and camera off (bottom left of the live screen) so as not to distract the other participants.  You can change your view by selecting the Speaker/Grid View options in the top right corner, or swiping the screen sideways on a smartphone or tablet.

Our inner world is similar. It comprises a multitude of experiences, beliefs, hopes, dreams, desires, etc. Exploring this Inner World on our spiritual journey of growth and self-development can be challenging but ultimately rewarding.

News from Jayantiben in London: 26 August

27 August 2020

The 25th was a very full, rich day filled with Dadiji’s memories, and experiences being shared by all. There were some new ones who are very sad that they didn’t meet Dadiji, but they are taking inspiration from the things others have shared. The long-term BKs are lost in love of Dadiji, and all the memories have been coming back...

25 August was Dadi Prakashmaniji’s auspicious day, and we are remembering her love, and the light of truth and purity that she radiated continually, giving everyone the experience of God’s love.

On 25th morning, we had a special offering of Bhog for Dadiji, followed by sharings from some seniors and few of the original jewels of the London Class. We had a similar programme of sharings in the evening too.

News from Jayantiben in London: 19 August

20 August 2020

Sister Elisabeth from Peace Village has been in the UK for some months to help with caring for her mother, who passed away a few days ago. Sister Maureen had gone to visit her just a couple of days before the soul flew away. The funeral took place on the 19th, and a group of Brahmins had gone to share Baba’s love and good vibrations. Elisabeth conducted a beautiful Meditation Commentary.

Travel plans are difficult at the moment for everyone; Sister Maureen was due to fly to Lithuania on 19th morning, but on the 18th she heard that she would need to go into 2 weeks self-isolation. So as that would have annulled the purpose of her visit, she cancelled her trip. I am sure that’s also happening to some others.

News from Jayantiben in London: 17 August

19 August 2020

This weekend, we had Murli Reading with Sudeshben on Saturday and myself on Sunday with the Regional Group of Teachers. This would be the time we would normally be having our Retreat in Oxford, Germany or Spain, but for the first time, it was done online. We opened it up to those who qualified as a mature Teacher from the Region, which includes the Middle East and the UK. On the 16th, we had 377 instruments online. At different times we had different numbers, but it averaged at over 300.

Normally we don’t have the space to invite all the UK Teachers, and so some in Europe were very, very pleased that UK was joining in and they were able to meet their old friends online.

We then had two and a half hour Sessions in the mornings after breakfast, and then an hour and a half Sessions in the afternoons. For a lot of the time, it was small groups either in their language groups or in the English group, which was random and the largest, which also worked very well.

There were several questions that came up that Sudeshben and myself were able to answer and clarify.

Finally we had a tribute to Dadi Janki, a very lovely film with offerings from many Seniors from abroad. Without fail, everyone enjoyed to the extent that some wanted to have it twice a month, some wanted to have it every month, but probably we will have it every two months to make it more comfortable for everyone to be involved.
