Announcement  - Theme 2019 / 2020 DF Season

13 August 2019

Dear Centre Coordinators,

Om shanti, and greetings of love.  Each year the planning team for the double foreign season searches for a theme for the season in Madhuban that will inspire and support the family in our spiritual journey. This year we have chosen as our theme,
Bapsaman - The Journey and the Destination.

During 2019 we all have been experimenting with the theme of Return to the Source. We want to deepen this exploration during the Madhbuan Season by looking at the return journey itself, when we are following in the footsteps of Brahma Baba in order to reach our destination of becoming like Shiv Baba.

Baba tells us that we are elevated souls of the confluence age, living a spiritual life. The Guide is with us, giving us blessings and shrimat. We are experiencing the joy of being with the Brahmin family, inspiration from the murli and the magic of Madhuban. We are following the father and becoming like Shiv Baba.

We will bring this double vision to the season – the vision of our collective aim of becoming Bapsaman, while at the same time appreciating all the gifts of this time. We’ll do this through a wide variety of master classes with our seniors, retreats, bhattis, silent experiences, reflective workshops as well as a variety of other activities.

We will be sending out further details for each of the groups in the near future.  We look forward to being with you in the Madhuban season ahead.

In Baba’s sweet remembrance,

The Double Foreign Planning Team

Madhuban Season update

8 August 2019

Dear Centre Coordinators, Greetings of peace,

Following our communication of 5 July giving full details of the Madhuban Season for 2019, we now have some updated information to share with you:

1)  Increase in numbers for Group 2

There is good news that more double foreigners can be accommodated in Gyan Sarovar and Pandav Bhawan for Group 2 (2-3 November to 16-17 November). (Previously it was 50 in Gyan Sarovar and 100 in Pandav Bhawan). This accommodation will be in dormitories.

The below numbers exclude a) accommodation for guests, b) BK companions / helpers for guests (however as Harmony House and Vishnupuri is reserved for the guests, some BK companions and helpers will be accommodated in Raj Rishi Bhawan).

So the numbers are:

  -  150 DFs in Gyan Sarovar (who are willing to stay in Raj Rishi Bhawan dormitories)

  -  150 DFs in Pandav Bhawan (who are willing to stay in dormitories)

  -  100 DFs in Shantivan (Hindi-speaking double foreigners

Therefore the allocation is as follows:

  -  Gyan Sarovar and Pandav Bhawan: 60 per region

  -  Shantivan: 20 per region

Please let your NC office know how many BKs wish to come for Group 2. The NC office will liaise with the RC to confirm those spaces or otherwise.

2)  Schedule for Madhuban Season

Please find attached an updated schedule for the Madhuban Season. Please note this includes:

  -  Adjusted - IPIP dates – 4-10 November 2019

  -  New – Latino Retreat in ORC – 10-16 February 2020

  -  New – Silence Retreat in ORC for NCs, CCs, NCTs, CRs, Class and Gita Pathshala Coordinators

Launch of the film "Dadi Janki - Touching Your Heart"

2 August 2019

Dear Centre Coordinators,

We all know it; Dadi Janki is a spiritual giant and a true Wonder Woman!

For almost two years Brothers Prashant and Prabhu from Gyan Sarovar, and Brother Eric from Canada, have squeezed into their busy schedules a unique project, in order to show the world the wonders of Dadi's life and the uniqueness of the Yagya.

They have created a film intended for a western, non-BK audience, and we are inviting you to make full use of it for service at your respective centres. Of course, BKs will also enjoy watching it, as well as all Brothers and Sisters in Bharat.

"Dadi Janki - Touching Your Heart" can be used for public programs or to commemorate Dadi's birthday, or any event you feel appropriate. It is now available on YouTube at the following address: https://youtu.be/vdqb2m6XWww

You can also find it on Dadi Janki’s Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/DadiJanki/

To introduce the film, you can use the following text:

Dadi Janki - Touching Your Heart

Some might call her a spiritual genius. From a very young age, her destiny became very clear: To know the self, God, and serve humanity. Now over 100 years old, Dadi Janki has touched millions of hearts all over the world. Her words sing the songs of deep spiritual understanding, and her wisdom challenges our own perception of who we are, of God, and our destiny.

If you want to produce a version in your own language, you can contact Brother Eric ateric.lereste@ca.brahmakumaris.org to obtain the English script, to help you in translating the audio.

We hope you enjoy the experience of seeing this celebration of Dadi and find it useful.

With love and warmest regards,

RCs

Invitation for The Moment of Calm - 2 August 2019

27 July 2019

Dear NCs and CC's, Loving greetings,

Please see the poster and letter below , about the project " The Moment of Calm". This project is promoting forgiveness by asking us all to take 2 minutes of silence on 2nd August at 2pm local time. Like the last few years, this is something we would like to support worldwide.

The project is being promoted by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, who have had a strong connection with the Brahma Kumaris from the early days of Sind.

Their Guruji, respected Dada Jashan, ascended last year and was very close to Dadi Janki.

Could you please send this information to all the centres in your country.

With love,

in Baba's yaad

RCs

The Moment of Calm - Invitation to pause for 2 minutes on 2 August at 2pm (local time)

It is an honor and privilege to invite the Brahma Kumaris to join us in Rev. Dada J.P. Vaswani’s birthday initiative. As you know, his birthday, August 2nd, is observed as a Global Forgiveness Day with his birth time 2pm being designated as the Moment of Calm. Beloved Dada believed that if there is one quality the world needs more than anything else, it is the twice-blessed quality of forgiveness. It blesses both, the one who forgives and the one who is forgiven. His legacy of forgiveness and peace continues to inspire and heal hearts around the world.

How to participate –

·         Simply observe 2 mins silence on August 2 @ 2pm

·         Forgive and clear the heart of ill feelings

·         Breathe out positivity and peace

You can participate from wherever you are. This honest en masse act of spreading positive energy, we believe, can uplift humanity and usher in an era of peace and harmony.

It will be an honor to have the entire Brahma Kumari family join us in this noble initiative. We humbly request you to please share this message across your centers.

Thank you.

In the One Service,

Sincerely,

Naresh Singhani

Dates for Madhuban Season 2019/20

08 July 2019

Dear Centre Coordinators,

Season’s dates and Double Foreigners Program

Madhuban is welcoming us and this season we have the fortune of 11 groups for the Avyakt meetings. Below is a schedule of dates for the 2019-2020 season

As you will see below, the full season for double foreigners will start with the Avyakt Meeting on 30 November, with smaller groups welcome for 17 October and 15 November Avyakt Meetings.

Groups One & Two:  17 October and 15 November 2019 Avyakt Meetings

Due to a continuous number of guest retreats in Gyan Sarovar and festivals from mid-October to early December, all of the rooms in Harmony House, Vishnupuri and Shanti Kunj Bhawan will be occupied by guests, BK companions for guests, helpers and IP/VIP Bharatwasi guests.

Therefore, during this time, for BKs who are not helping with the retreats and are coming for the season, only dormitory-style accommodation will be available in Raj Rishi Bhawan (Gyan Sarovar) and Pandav Bhawan. As only a limited number can be accommodated we wish to offer these places to those groups who can adjust with dormitories.

A small number of Hindi-speaking BKs can be accommodated in Shantivan for 17 October and 15 November meetings. This group may have day visits to Pandav Bhawan and Gyan Sarovar, but would not be able to stay.

The numbers are:

  -  50 DFs in Gyan Sarovar (who are willing to stay in Raj Rishi Bhawan dormitories)

  -  100 DFs in Pandav Bhawan (who are willing to stay in dormitories)

  -  100 DFs in Shantivan (Hindi-speaking DFs)

Therefore the allocation is as follows:

  -  Gyan Sarovar and Pandav Bhawan: 30 per region

  -  Shantivan: 20 per region

Please let your NC office know how many BKs wish to come for these groups by 15 July. The NC office will liaise with the RC to confirm those spaces or otherwise.

Group Three:  30 November Avyakt Meeting

As there will be guest retreats in Gyan Sarovar until early December, 300 BKS can be accommodated in Gyan Sarovar, and 100 BKs can be accommodated in Pandav Bhawan in dormitory-style accommodation only.

Please be aware that as a very large group of guests will be in Gyan Sarovar until 24 November, it may be that the rooms you want are not ready on your arrival, as they need to be cleaned, but please just adjust and be patient.

Groups Four onwards:  Avyakt Meeting of 15 December 2019 onwards

Double Foreigners may arrange their travel for Group 4 dates onwards. Accommodation for double foreigners will be in Gyan Sarovar and Pandav Bhawan.

It is requested that double foreigners come for one meeting, and adhere to the Group Dates, as there are just few days in between for the cleaning of rooms before the next group arrives.

It is requested that those coming for Group 11, leave on the dates mentioned, to allow for cleaning and preparation for the season of Indian retreats and meetings.

Retreats with Centre Residents & Right Hands of Centres (incl Gita Pathshala Coordinators)

Please note that this season there will not be a retreat for this group in October as there has been in the last few years. Instead, we will be holding a few two-day retreats during the DF program for those from Centre Residents & Right Hands of Centres (incl Gita Pathshala Coordinators). More information about these will be coming to you.

There will be DF Programs in all 11 of the Groups

Please note that for the groups where there is a smaller number of Double Foreigners present, there will be a small range of activities and classes available. For the largest Groups, in particular groups 9 & 10, there will be a wide number of activities, classes, retreats and seniors.

Accommodation

Those who need small rooms due to health, couples who need a room together or the elderly, are requested to avoid the 17 October and 15 November meetings, and to come for the 6 March, 20 March or 3 April meetings where more facilities are available. Please avoid coming for the 20 February meeting as the NCs & CCs will be there and it's also much colder in mid-February.

We look forward to an uplifting season.

With love,

In Baba's yaad,

RCs

A Resource for Parents and Workshops for BK Parents

06 June 2019

Dear NCs & CCs,

Please share information about this useful resource for parents with any parents in your centres.

If you would also like to offer a few workshops to BK parents there is some guidance for this below

In Baba’s yaad,

RCs

Dear NCs and CCs, radiant stars of love, light and wisdom, Om shanti and loving greetings.

I was on a Care and Wellbeing GF conference call recently with Charlie, Maureen, Moira, Gopi and Chrissy from Australia, Valeriane and Sarah.  Moira shared that people were always asking for something for parents. As you may know, some families are having problems with young people being very attached to cell phones, and there is an increase in depression, anxiety and suicide among children 11 and older.  I shared several ideas with them, and am writing to you after receiving their blessings and the blessings of our RCs, Mohinibenji, Nirmala Didiji and Jayantibenji.

A Resource for Parents

I wrote “Nurturing with Love and Wisdom, Disciplining with Peace and Respect: A mindful guide to parenting” with all families in mind, including BK families.  Released in November 2014, it is totally BK friendly and appropriate. After receiving the blessing from the RCs, I lowered the price for the eBooks in English and Spanish on amazon to US $0.99.  The eBook in Spanish is free if you have unlimited Kindle membership.  The books are also available in Portuguese and Vietnamese at the BK Centers in those countries.

  • The book is very useful and pertinent in these delicate times.  One BK parent told me that she reads it before going to sleep at night as it helps calm her down.
  • There are eight sections with a total of 34 chapters in the book. I have attached a file sharing some of the contents.

If parents are having difficulties with their children, then it is recommended that they begin reading, in the following order:

  • Chapter 3: The Importance of Play and Us Time

  • Chapter 5: Love, Affection and Attention

  • Chapter 6: Appreciation and Building Positive Behaviors

  • Chapter 7: Active Listening

The first step is always to re-establish relationship, hence the above recommendation. As they read and implement these, then they can start on the chapters in Section Three regarding disciplining with peace and respect.

There are also chapters on preventing sexual abuse and drug use, helping children deal with bullying, and dealing with social media.

Offering Workshops for BK Parents

  • If you would like to offer a few workshops to BK parents, you may take them directly from the book.  (You may wish to read at least section two and three first!)

Chapters that would be good 90 minute workshops are:

  • Workshop 1:  Chapters 3, 5 and 6

  • Workshop 2:  Feedback from the first workshop, and practice of communication skill in chapter 6, with some content from chapter 23 about family time in the evening and limiting cell phone use.

  • Workshop 3:  Feedback on their experiences and then Chapter 7 on Active listening

  • Workshop 4:  Same as above

  • Workshop 5:  Ask them what difficulties they are experiencing and then choose the chapters on discipline accordingly.

  • Workshop 6:  If you have an LVE teacher or facilitator in your BK group, they would be great at leading a workshop resolving conflicts (chapter 26) and dealing with bullying (chapter 31)

Love, light and all good wishes in Baba’s yaad,

Sr. Diane

(Diane G. Tillman)

P.S.  If you would like more than ten physical books in English or Spanish, let me know.  I can get it to you anywhere in the world for US $11.00, including shipping. Please send an email to sealbeach@us.brahmakumaris.org

The 24th Peace of Mind Experience: 5-12 October 2019

6 April 2019

Dear Centre Coordinators,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we inform you the dates of the 24th Peace of Mind meditation experience.

The program title came from one of Mama’s Murlis when she spoke the words ‘Peace of Mind’ in English. Since 1995, the program inspired by Mama and Dadi Prakashmaniji, has served to open the hearts and minds of thousands of friends from around the world by exposing them to the ‘heart’ of the Yagya.

The organising team, with Dadi Janki’s blessings, continue to develop and innovate ways to give ongoing energy to this very successful service program. There is an increased focus on:
•     deepening the meditation experience with a practical approach to sessions
•     ways to sustain effective spiritual practices in everyday life after guests return home
•     active engagement of companions as mentors and friends during the retreat
•     an optional visit to the Solar One facility at Shantivan following the program.

Peace of Mind is designed for people who would like to study a full program of Baba’s knowledge and experience the depths of meditation in the atmosphere of Madhuban, including:
•     Professionals and Community Leaders who have an interest or are genuinely engaged in some spiritual endeavour, and
•     People/Friends who are connected with the Brahma Kumaris and/or are likely to appreciate our philosophy
and practices.
The program is not for students or contact souls who currently attend the centre on a regular basis, nor murli students who do not otherwise qualify to go to Madhuban.

Madhuban niwassis do their very best to ensure that we can offer comfortable accommodation and the best possible learning environment. Guest numbers are limited - shared twin rooms are the guest accommodation standard. Participation is by invitation only. If you would like to invite a guest, please arrange this in conjunction with your National Coordinator who will send them an invitation.

Please ensure your guest has a companion who is willing to actively engage in their care and learning during the retreat. Make sure your guests arrive on October 5 and depart on October 12, thank you.

Please note the new website http://www.peaceofmindretreat.org to send to potential guests.

Thanks, In Baba’s Yaad,
The Peace of Mind Co-ordinating Team

REMINDER: Invitation to the Spirit of Care Retreat 12 - 14 Feb, Gyan Sarovar

5 January 2019

From your inner sanctuary –

Open your wings and fly

Dear Centre Coordinators,

Hello and Om Shanti. We are delighted to share with you details of the sixth Spirit of Care Retreat to be held in Gyan Sarovar. This is a warm and open invitation to each member of our beautiful Brahmin Family.

We all have our own silent, safe and wise place within us - at the epi-centre of our soul.

The place where the light burns brightest....

A ‘sanctuary’ of our own ... a sacred place within where we can take refuge and find peace ... a place where God’s presence waits patiently for our return.

With one thought we can be there... to find peace, re-connection, love and the wisdom of insight...

Here in our inner sanctuary we can be free from the constraints of the world. Free to heal the self, our relationship with others, empower nature and the elements, and sit in God’s presence.

We would be happy if you could join us to explore this inner sanctuary over 3 days at this the 10th anniversary of the Spirit of Care retreat.

We will explore the sacredness, silence and greatness our inner sanctuary offers us....

Spread your wings and fly free....
