31 October 2018

Invitation to the Spirit of Care Retreat

12 - 14th Feb 2019, Gyan Sarovar

 From your inner sanctuary –

Open your wings and fly

Hello and Om Shanti. We are delighted to share with you details of the sixth Spirit of Care Retreat to be held in Gyan Sarovar. This is a warm and open invitation to each member of our beautiful Brahmin Family.

We all have our own silent, safe and wise place within us - at the epi-centre of our soul.

The place where the light burns brightest....

A ‘sanctuary’ of our own ... a sacred place within where we can take refuge and find peace ... a place where God’s presence waits patiently for our return.

With one thought we can be there... to find peace, re-connection, love and the wisdom of insight...

Here in our inner sanctuary we can be free from the constraints of the world. Free to heal the self, our relationship with others, empower nature and the elements, and sit in God’s presence.

We would be happy if you could join us to explore this inner sanctuary over 3 days at this the 10th anniversary of the Spirit of Care retreat. We will explore the sacredness, silence and greatness our inner sanctuary offers us....

Spread your wings and fly free....

Registration Deadline Extended to 30th September!

October 2018 Sevenday Teachers Training Retreat for the

Foundation Course in Raja Yoga Meditation

Om Shanti Retreat Centre (ORC), Delhi

Arrivals Sunday, 21st October / Departures Tuesday, 30th October

12 September 2018

Om Shanti. We are delighted to announce a Raja Yoga Teacher Training at ORC in October 2018. We are especially holding it in the autumn this time to give an opportunity to those who cannot attend in February/ March.

Those interested in attending will need to plan their arrival and departure timings so that they do not miss any of the sessions. The first session of the training will be on Tuesday 23rd October morning and the last session will be on Monday 29th October evening. It is expected that participants attend all sessions. Departures from ORC can be arranged for Tuesday 30th October. It is advised that all those participating in this training attend the First Group in Madhuban and no one should plan to go to the training first and then go to Madhuban, as their arrival in Madhuban would fall outside of the Group dates.

All participants must therefore schedule their Madhuban visit from 6th to 21st October (Group 1 only). Because the Teacher Training Welcome program is on the evening of 22nd October and the first full day of training begins after breakfast on the 23rd, we ask that participants plan travel to ORC from Madhuban on the 21st October, especially if traveling by train.

Very important: All participants must register and secure their place in the training before booking their travel, as there are limited places available (booking your travel first will not guarantee you a place in the training).

BKs already teaching the Foundation Raja Yoga Course, as well as those who would like to teach or those who are keen to review the course in depth, are welcome to attend. Participants should be in gyan at least three years and attend the Centre regularly. (Exceptions to this must be confirmed with the trainers.) Whether they would like to start teaching but need confidence and lesson plans, or are already teaching and would like to update their skills and get feedback on their effectiveness, they will find this seven-day immersion in gyan and yoga invaluable. Prior training attendees will not be permitted to attend unless attending as support staff.

The training covers the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels of the Raja Yoga course as well as sessions on facilitation and experiential learning skills. It also includes a number of practicums - sessions in which participants practice developing their presentation skills by teaching a segment of a lesson and are given constructive feedback by their peers. The training will also include different sessions on meditation to enhance the experiences of participants. The seven-day schedule provides for a comfortably paced training that allows free time in the afternoon and evening classes by seniors.

Sr Kiran (USA), Sr Margaret Barron (UK) and Sr Mary-Jeanne (Canada) will conduct the training. Sr Kiran will deliver the content sessions, Sr Margaret will offer sessions on experiential learning methods and Sr Mary-Jeanne will lead the meditation sessions and coordinate the Practicums. Sr Kiran, who has been in gyan since 1979 has conducted other such trainings at Peace Village and Anubhuti Retreat Centres, in various US and Canadian cities and in Guyana. Sr Margaret has been in gyan since 1992 and is involved with the Raja Yoga Education Department, UK and co-facilitates experiential trainings for new and established teachers in London and around the UK. She has also facilitated trainings for BK teachers in Europe and South India, designed to make the delivery of the Raja Yoga Course more interactive, creative, and supportive of all types of learners. Sister Mary-Jeanne has been in gyan since 1995 and has been assisting with the Teacher Trainings since 2013.

A USB flash drive containing over 600 pages of Teacher Resources will be made available to all participants for a nominal charge.

Please note that attending this training does not automatically qualify participants to teach. That needs to be decided by the Centre Coordinator in conjunction with the participant. This will be emphasized during the training. Note: the registration form will ask participants whether they follow the principles of pure diet, purity in relationships, and regular amrit vela and Murli class. All information will be kept confidential.

A note about language: The training will be in English. If participants need translation, at least two translators must be provided by the center / language group. There will be no translation into Hindi.

Suggested contribution for the retreat: Many participants have requested guidance on this. For participants from developing countries, seniors suggest Rs 8000 to 10,000 (USD $120-150) as a sensible contribution to ORC for the week-long retreat. For participants from the US, Europe or Australia, they suggest Rs 17,000 ($250 US or $330 AUD or €210 Euros). This does not include the transport fee that will be collected by ORC (Rs. 1400-2000) from each participant or the USB flash drive (Rs.500), but does cover all other costs (i.e., food  and all other facilities for the retreat).

In addition, some experienced teachers are needed to help facilitate the practicum sessions, so if you are already teaching but are interested in the training and willing to play this role, kindly let us know by indicating this in the appropriate place on the registration form.  You would need to arrive on the 22nd October BY NOON - without exception - to participate in a facilitator's briefing session on 22nd October afternoon. Interested facilitators are kindly requested to provide Srs Kiran and Margaret with an email (at  teachertraining@brahmakumaris.org) detailing their previous facilitation experience.

In addition, a few additional support helpers are needed who have good office and people skills to help with various tasks including administration, registration and valuables, accommodation, dining services and special diets etc. Once these tasks are completed they are welcome to join any of the sessions, but their first responsibility would be to fulfill their support duties. If there is anyone in your Centre whom you feel would be suitable and enjoy this opportunity for service, please let the training organisers know at: teachertraining@brahmakumaris.org.

Please pass this information to anyone who you feel would be a suitable participant for the training, or to help as a facilitator or in the support role.  Booking for all roles is directly online at https://brahmakumaris.org/r/tt2018 by Sunday 30th September 2018.

In Baba's yaad,

Sisters Kiran, Margaret and Mary-Jeanne

22nd Peace of Mind, Mount Abu Meditation Experience, October 1-8, 2018

5 March 2018

Dear Centre Coordinators,

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that we inform you of the dates for the 2018 Peace of Mind, Mount Abu Meditation Experience.

The program title was inspired by one of Mama’s Murlis when she spoke the words ‘Peace of Mind’ in English. For over 20 years, the program inspired by Mama and Dadi Prakashmaniji, has served to open the hearts and minds of thousands of friends from around the world by exposing them to the ‘heart’ of the Yagya.

The Peace of Mind program is coordinated by a group of dedicated BKs from several countries. This very successful service program continues to have the blessing of Dadi Janki and all Seniors.

The Peace of Mind program includes an increased focus on:

-  the meditation experience with new experiential sessions

-  ways to sustain effective spiritual practices in everyday life after guests return home

-  active engagement of companions as mentors and friends during the retreat

-  a visit to the Solar One thermal power facility at Shantivan during the program for those interested.

Peace of Mind is designed for people who would like to study a full program of Baba’s knowledge and experience the depths of meditation in the atmosphere of Madhuban, including:

-  Professionals and Community Leaders who have an interest or are genuinely engaged in some spiritual endeavour, and

-  Family and Friends who are connected with the Brahma Kumaris and/or are likely to appreciate our philosophy and practices.

The program is not for students or contact souls who currently attend the centre on a regular basis, or murli students who do not otherwise qualify to go to Madhuban. It is also not open to residents of India.

Participation is by invitation only. Madhuban do their very best to ensure that we can offer comfortable accommodation and the best possible learning environment.  This is why the numbers are limited.  If you would like to invite a guest, please first contact your NC or RC.

Please ensure your guest has a companion who is willing to actively engage in their care and learning during the retreat. Ensure that your guests arrive on October 1 and depart on October 8.

Please note the new website www.peaceofmindretreat.org to send to potential guests.

Invitation to the Spirit of Care Retreat 7-9 March 2018, Gyan Sarovar, "Healing the Self - Becoming Whole Again"

26 February 2018

Om Shanti.

We are delighted to share with you details of the seventh Spirit of Care Retreat to be held in Gyan Sarovar.  This is a warm and open invitation to each member of our Brahmin Family.

We believe the Confluence Age is the Age of Healing; a time when Baba helps and guides us back to the original self. This spiritual journey is one of healing the soul.  We are learning to rediscover and reconnect to our unique greatness and become whole again.  When we have restored ourselves, we can then assist Baba to heal humanity and nature.

Baba says he is the ‘Surgeon’ … so if we let him, and work with him, he becomes our greatest Healer. We are always learning how to use Gyan, Yoga and Baba’s energy to return to our true nature, that of the eternal self, so we too can become ‘healers’.

We have learnt so many things but still need to experience a sense of wholeness, and to let go of that which no longer sustains us.  So, how can learn to reconnect and live with, the sense of deep inner power and peace that comes from a feeling of being complete?

This 3-day retreat invites you to explore how you can heal unresolved parts of the self and feel deeply connected to your authentic and original self. We will also investigate how to mend relationships with others: including those you live with, are close to and with whom you share service. Mother-Nature and all the souls of this world will be uplifted through this transformation.
