The Peace of Mind retreat is 1-8 October 2018.
Please see attached the Guidelines for RCs, NCs and NCTs and invitation documents. Please read the Guidelines so that you can suggest who you would like to invite.
There has been some discussion about quotas and enabling the most number of participants to attend. Below are the suggested quotas for this year. Please advise if you have any concern about this.

Om Shanti Conversations - USA 40th Anniversary Initiative

Instruments in the USA wish to share this initiative
and its resources with other centers around the world in the event others would like to adapt these resources to your respective service places.

In celebration of 40 years of service in the USA, Sister Mohini is encouraging BK centers throughout the USA to support a series of conversations on peace, something we are calling “Om Shanti Conversations”. In proposing this year of “om shanti conversations,” we took several things into account: “Om Shanti” (Peace) is our spiritual foundation, our original dharma. Om Shanti is where we started historically as “Om Mandli,” and it is what we are known for today. Finally, Third Sunday World Peace Meditation is something we have done faithfully since the beginning of service in the USA.
The purpose of these conversations is to allow the inner voice of peace or “Om Shanti” to emerge in daily life in the many places where we serve. By offering a listening space where deep listening is more important than talking, these dialogues-of-the-heart will take place in an atmosphere of trust. Our aim is that participants will feel that we are listening to them with attention and without judgment as they look at beliefs and experiences lying buried within the subconscious. This will allow for deep inner peace to emerge and the power of peace to develop.
You can design these conversations in whatever way works best for your center. Some centers in Florida are holding them before the Third Sunday World Peace Meditation. Others will hold them on a Saturday or on a weekday evening. Some are panning to build on the successful Om Café and other models from the past. The only request is that you hold 1 conversation each month for the balance of the year.
We will provide a simple conversation guide and resources to support your conversations. We welcome your ideas and other approaches to spreading a wave of peace throughout the USA during these turbulent times.
At the “Serve–in-the-USA” conversation held on January 13, 2018 at Harmony House, participants were asked to consider what people in the USA most need in these fragile times, and what we might do to be of service. The daylong program yielded posters, ideas and most importantly, deep and honest sharing from participants’ individual experiences. There was enthusiasm for celebrating our 40-year anniversary as a Year of Peace by hosting locally designed programs and “Om Shanti Conversations” around this theme.
Sister Mohini shared her personal reflections with the group, emphasizing the importance of creating an inner atmosphere to carry us through these times:
“I encourage you to make wishes for yourselves for 2018. My wishes for myself are to be filled with love, to remain peaceful inside and to be victorious. It’s the thoughts we hold inside that give us strength or make us weak. When we allow ourselves to be absorbed in the “outside forecast,” then we may become filled with worry and anxiety, feeling timid and overly cautious. If we listen to our “inner forecast” and create thoughts that will sustain us – thoughts of hope, trust and inner peace -- then we gain the spiritual capacity and strength to live with confidence and to serve others. Whenever possible, create inner civility, inner security and an inner commitment to truth. Then you will be an example of what the world most needs.”
Please plan now to host an Om Shanti Conversation each month on any theme related to peace. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.

SEASON’S DATES AND DOUBLE FOREIGNER’S PROGRAMME
Madhuban is welcoming us and this season we have the fortune of 12 groups for the Avyakt meeting. Below is a schedule of dates for the 2018/19 season.
This time, the good news is that there is a special meeting for all Double Foreigners in October. Munniben has kept Manmohini Complex just for us so that we can all come together as an international BK family. A few thousand can be accommodated comfortably and we will have plenty of space for all our activities. The Double Foreigner Program Team are creating a special programme for us from the 8th - 17th October.
The overall theme for this season’s Double Foreigner Program is:
Eternal Mantras: Manmanbhav and Madhayajibhav
Detailed information will be sent to you in advance.
Of course, Double Foreigners will be welcome at each of the meetings and there will be a special programme arranged for a period of 8 to 10 days within the group dates, for eight of the groups.
It is requested that double foreigners come for one meeting, and adhere to the Group Dates, as there are just few days in between for cleaning of rooms before the next group comes.
VISITING PANDAV BHAWAN AND GYAN SAROVAR
All the activities for this first group will be in Shantivan as your special program will be arranged in Shantivan. From the 15th October onwards there will be the opportunity to visit Pandav Bhawan and Gyan Sarovar by making day trips up the mountain. On the 20th October, all those who are still in Shantivan will be asked to move to Gyan Sarovar and Pandav Bhawan. As there are various programmes taking place in Pandav Bhawan and Gyan Sarovar earlier in October, it will not be possible to move up the mountain before the 20th October.
ACCOMMODATION
Those who need small rooms due to health, couples who need a room together or the elderly, are best to come in October when the facilities are available, or come for the meetings on 18th March or 2nd April. Please avoid coming for 17th February meeting as the NCs & CCs will be there and it's also much colder in mid-February.
We look forward to an uplifting season during this year of completion.

REMINDER: Invitation to International BK Gujarati Retreat 6-12 July 2018
Om Shanti. Please find enclosed an invitation to the International BK Gujarati Retreat which will be held at the Serve Africa Retreat Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.
The theme for the retreat is 'Appreciating My Life: A retreat to reconnect and love yourself from Within'.
The retreat will be held from 6th July - 12th July 2018.
There will also be the opportunity to spend two nights in Masai Mara National Park or have a silence retreat at the centre.
It will be a beautiful chance to attend the retreats and receive sustenance from seniors and meet the international BK Gujarati families which will recharge, motivate and strengthen you in your efforts.
Please pass on this invitation to those students from the Gujarati background who would be interested in attending the retreat.

Important Notice - Events Management System Changes Due to GDPR (Phase 1)

Om Shanti and greetings of love from London.
This email is concerning the BKWSU Events Management System that you may be using to upload events to your website or using for Online Retreat Registrations.
From 25th May 2018 the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) will take effect for all European citizens, no matter where they are living in the world. Therefore on an international level, we would like to 'clean up' any data we store and then get specific consent for any personal data we decide to collect from now onwards. While we recognise that this is not a legal requirement for all countries, it will benefit everyone to do this.
We will therefore soon begin the 'clean up' work required on The Events Management System and in the next few weeks (starting from 2 April) we will be carrying out the following tasks:
- All events registration forms - on the system - that have not been used in the past two years will be deleted. If these forms are required in the future we will have to re-create them.
- All registration data collected for ALL 'past' events will be 'cleaned' so that no personal data remains. The registrations themselves will remain to enable you to carry out statistical analysis of event attendance if ever required, but any information which can identify an individual - including their name and email address - will be cleared.
- All remaining 'active' Event Registration Forms will have a Consent Statement added which people will have to agree to before their data can be stored.
- We will also be adding a link to our Privacy Policy at the bottom of all forms.
There are many more changes planned for the coming few months, but we will be starting initially with the above list in Phase 1.

Divine Sisters/Brothers, Greetings of peace.
Brahma Baba became an instrument to establish the Brahma Kumaris in 1936. On 18th January, 1969, he left his physical body, to become an angel. Remembered by each and every student of the Brahma Kumaris with utmost love and respect, he was the sample, during his entire life, of the last three words that he spoke: Nirakari (soul conscious), Nirvikari (pure) and Nirahankari (egoless).
On this occasion of Brahma Baba's Smriti Divas, we are sending you a collection of more than 300 photographs of Brahma Baba with many brothers and sisters of the Brahma Kumaris Godly family, taken from 1936 to 1969.

BeeZone App - Relax, Refocus, Unwind...

On the 18th of January 2018, the Global IT team launched a new mobile App.
The App is called BeeZone and it provides tools and techniques for people to relax, refocus, unwind and move into a positive space - a Zone where they can just Be.
This app has been developed as a tool especially to serve those from the IT community, but the app is very neutral and has a number of features including traffic control. It is appropriate for anyone to use, from professionals to kids, also including BKs. We hope you like it and find it useful in serving your local communities.
Attached are two posters which can be posted on your center's notice board for everyone to see. The second one, which is simpler, can be used to distribute via Whats App etc.
