Singapore starts off New Year with Chinese New Year and Special Event Service Programs

20 February 2021

The Brahma Kumaris, Singapore welcomed the Year of the Ox with a variety of online programmes, revealing that physical constraints cannot dampen the BK spirit!

CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATIONS

Starting with an inspiring message from Didi Nirmala, we had a creative show that resonated with the festive occasion.

The Celebrations started with customary Chinese New Year firecrackers (all virtual!) and Lo Hei in which Sisters Lakshmi, Dee and Serena tossed the special ingredients which symbolise abundance and good fortune. An entertaining skit on the Chinese Zodiac, soulful songs and dances completed the celebration.

Launch of Australian Virtual Center (VC), an Online Meditation Center - First of Its Kind in the World!

7 February 2021

Please click on the above image to play a 3-minute introductory video

INTRODUCING THE AUSTRALIAN VIRTUAL CENTRE (AVC, VC)

On 18 January 2021, a Virtual Centre for Australia, the first of its kind in the world, was launched!

The Australia Virtual Centre (AVC) is a place online, where all Brahma Kumaris online events running in Australia (and beyond) are listed, including from where they can also be attended. But yes, there’s more!

Many Australian BK Centres and class locations are already holding online events. Now, in the AVC, all of those events will be seen together and accessed live, as if they were all happening under the same roof. Each of them could well be attended by anyone, anywhere, right around the country or even the world.

WHAT CAN I DO IN THE AVC?

The AVC will have the feel of entering a place of calm, where people can:

  • play videos and podcasts,
  • spin a virtue wheel to receive a personal daily virtue,
  • access live or recorded events,
  • visit a personalized meditation room
  • organize a conversation with an experienced tutor

WHERE IS THE AVC?

Currently, each of the Brahma Kumaris locations where regular classes are being held has its own page on the Australian website. From there, people can find out about that place and its upcoming events. So too, the AVC will “live within” the existing national website.

To access the AVC please click on

https://brahmakumaris.org.au/new/virtual-centre/

WHO IS IT FOR?

The AVC hosts events that can be accessed by all members of the public, in Australia and overseas. There will be a variety of events including talks, seminars, courses, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and meditation sessions.

February Newsletter Brahma Kumaris Centre for Spiritual Learning The Illawarra

3 February 2021

Greetings one and all!

Seeing the world around us locally and wider, we can appreciate the intricacy of life. Sometimes we feel freedom and at times, rather stuck! To be truly individual, I must understand where my limits are, where I 'begin and end', and where others around 'begin and end' too. When I am not stuck or attached, I can be self-reliant and generate loving compassion.

This month's World Meditation Program, will explore an often used word in spiritual endeavors; 'Detachment'. The image used to illustrate this idea is the lotus flower; with its roots living in the mud, it rises above to reveal its true beauty, its true form, a spectacular flower whose roots and seeds also provide food!

Malaysia- Report on Public Program "Go M.A.D. in the New Millennium"

27 January 2021

Dear Divine Family,

Greeting of Love from Malaysia. We are pleased to provide the report on the outreach program Go M.A.D. (Make a Difference) in the New Millennium for your attention. Please click HERE to download the pdf.

In Baba's sweet yaad,

BK Meera and Malaysia Family

A health-related public program entitled “GO M.A.D (Make a Difference) in the New Millennium” was organised on the 23rd January 2021 from 8 to 9.30 pm. This program was organised by Brahma Kumaris Malaysia (BKM) in collaboration with a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that provides tele- counselling services. The aim of the program was to provide public with some practical ways to:

1. Overcome stress, anxiety, crisis fatigue amidst uncertainties and adverse situations.

2. Develop positive attitude and vision and tap on hidden opportunities.
3. Enhance inner strength and stamina and thereby empower the self.

The panellists comprised of Dato Dr Florance Sinniah (Founder/President of SNEHAM Malaysia), Dato Dr Lai Fong Hwa (Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist), BK Dr Sachin Suksohale (Consultant Physician & Intensivist of Global Hospital and Research Centre) and moderated by Dr Saravanan Krishnan (Consultant Cardiologist & Electro physiologist). All three speakers are very well known in their respective fields. The moderator, Dr Saravanan is a well-known cardiologist in the Northern Region, Malaysia. The program started with opening speech by BK Letchumanan Ramatha, President of BKM. The panel discussion focused on how to make a difference in this present pandemic and increase the coping mechanism. The discussion was lively, interesting and informative for the public in general. BK Dr Sachin also highlighted that it is important to take care of the healthcare staffs and front liners by giving them sufficient break and rest to recuperate. In addition, going into introversion and connecting with the self and higher consciousness is necessary to be recharged and re-energised for the purpose of increasing the coping capability in the light of stress caused by uncertainties and high risk at work place. The program ended with a silent reflection by Dr Sachin, followed by certificate ceremony for the invited speakers. The closing remarks was by BK Perumalu Kandan, the treasurer of BKM. There were 2.1k viewers within the 24 hours of the programme.
