BK Sister Kinnari conducted a meditation reflection to revisit history, learn from the virtues of Mahatma Gandhi and how we can use them now as we face new challenges.

She said “On this auspicious day as we all gather to honor a great soul- Mahan Atma called Mahatma Gandhi; Let’s take a few moments to reflect on what made him a great soul. What are some of his virtues that we can imbibe in us today as we face new situation and challenges.
Let’s consciously move our attention from everything that we can see, hear, feel and touch and leave it outside our mind. Turn your attention inwards on the screen of your mind. As we breathe in and out, let’s calm down every part of our body and allow it to be in a state of harmony. Let’s go back in time and revisit our history, a time when there were so many challenges on the external.

Satyagrah– A movement which was based on truth. Truth, that was constant, unshakable and immovable. Truth which would not be compromised to one’s dignity. Truth was the beginning, middle and end of the destination.

Ahimsa – choosing to be non- violent. Not just physically but, choosing not to hurt the self or others even in our thoughts. Every moment I get angry I am being violent with the self. Holding vision of brotherhood and feelings of compassion for everyone.

Simplicity– He chose to lead a simple life in the midst of all grandeur. Let me choose the virtue of simplicity in my thinking, feeling and attitude.

Determination – as he was determined and grounded in his principles let us create a determined thought to uphold our virtues and principles at very walk of life.

Let us all invoke these virtues within us in our hearts and minds as we build a world filled with virtues.”

Uncle Leo as Mahatma Gandhi was also present during the event.
