UN Biodiversity Conference COP15 in Canada

 

 

The UN Conference Biological Diversity COP15 started in Montreal, Canada, on 7th Dec. The BK delegation, David, Valeriane, and Aneta, are already in Montreal, joining Juan and Anne-Christelle, and next week Sister Maureen will join them. A BK statement “Awakening a Flourishing Future” is created for the Conference, read here. Brahma Kumaris Environment Initiative has participated in this biannual conference since COP11 in 2012. Recently that the faith-based community has started to organize itself:

 

Faiths at COP15

At COP15, the nations of the world will agree on a once-in-a-decade pact to protect ecosystems and safeguard biodiversity. This COP will be the first time that a coalition of faith groups, spanning almost every single major faith tradition, is coming to bring the voice of faith communities to the table.
