SOURCE: Time of India (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/jaipur/spiritual-body-rly-ink-mou-for-cleanliness/articleshow/59613108.cms) Updated: Jul 15, 2017

Ajmer: The Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidhyalaya has taken up the responsibility of maintaining cleanliness at Abu Road railway station. On Saturday, the Brahma Kumaris signed a five-year MoU with the North Western Railways (NWR) to this effect.
On the occasion, divisional railway manager (DRM) Puneet Chawla said that this is the first-of-its-kind initiative of Indian railways where a spiritual organization has taken over the cleaning of a railway station. The institution will carry out integrated mechanized cleaning work of Abu Road railway station.

Abu Road is the gateway to the popular hill station of Mount Abu and also a gateway to Rajasthan from Western India. It comes under the Ajmer division of North Western Railways (NWR).

"The initiative has been taken under the 'Clean India Green India' programme of the railways. The involvement of a spiritual institution opens up new horizons for the Indian railways. Brahma Kumaris will provide workers for cleaning of platforms, waiting rooms, waiting hall, offices, tracks and the premises and circulating area," said Chawla.

The institute with the help of 52 workers dressed in uniform and equipped with safety gear like gloves, caps, face mask, shoes, will carry out the cleaning work. They will also use 13 machines including ride-on scrubbers, high pressure jets, heavy duty vacuum cleaners and walk behind machines.

Chawla further said that the work will be done as per NGT (National Green Tribunal) guidelines for sanitation.

The MoU will help the Indian railways save Rs 6.20 lakh per month. The total savings at the end of five years will be Rs 3.72 crore.

Abu Road railway station, on an average, gets 8,000 passengers daily and clocks a revenue of Rs 8.83 lakh every day.

RECIPE Training Programme at C.A. College, Mawal, Abu Road

9 Sep 2017

A RECIPE Training Programme was conducted from 25th June 2017 to 5th July 2017 for students and teaching staff at Uttam Parkash Aggarwal Charted Accountant College, Mawal, Abu Road on the invitation of Mr. Uttam Parkash, C. A., Ex-President of ICAI.

Respected Rajayogi Brother B.K. Mruthunjaya Ji, Vice Chairperson of Education Wing, addressed the participants and filled them with zeal and enthusiasm. He said, “Today the human beings are considered as the most dangerous animals. We can divinize the human beings to deities by making them aware of the missing link of spiritual education in today’s education system.” His revolutionary views made everyone curious ‘to realize thyself’ and make spiritual lifestyle as a part of their routine life.

In the Inaugural Session, B.K. Dr. Pandiamani Ji said that spiritual education is a lifelong phenomenon and it keeps you enthusiastic, active and enlightened throughout your whole life.

Brother B.K Rajesh, the Executive Member of Education Wing, took 11 sessions for three hours daily on burning issues related to the life of youth like Understanding and achieving the real aim of life, Converting failure to success, Inner Happiness, Nurturing relationships with family members and peers, Spiritual healthy lifestyle, etc. Both the students and staff thoroughly enjoyed these sessions as they were made very interesting through games, group discussions, workshops and presentations. Sister B.K. Aruna also played her role in managing and helping to run the program smoothly and efficiently. Her interaction with the students about karma philosophy and harms of non-vegetarian diet was applauded by all.

The most wonderful and blissful part of the programme was the realization of everyone as the peaceful, blissful and happy souls made by God, the Supreme Soul Shiva, through practical meditation sessions, and because of this realization the participants promised at the Valedictory Session to follow the following points in their life:

    1. Practise regular Meditation daily for 15 minutes in the morning and evening.
    2. Listen to quiet, calm music, mediation songs and commentaries
    3. Refrain from passing comments on anyone, bullying  anyone and using humiliating words
    4. To express themselves politely and respectfully if anybody scolds or use unparliamentarily language for them, and thereby forgive them.
    5. To write a letter to the Supreme Being before going to bed detailing in it the accounts of the day and to forgive all those who caused pain and misery to them during the whole day.

National Bhagwad Geeta Convention in Delhi

8 Sep 2017

National Convention on the Bhagavad Gita Begins
‘Yoga is the Quint Essence of Bhagvad Gita’-Dr Nagendra

Gurgaon, July 8: The Bhagavad Gita is a spiritual text propagating non-violence as the supreme religion. It therefore does not inspire a violent physical war, but asks people to conquer inner demons on the subtle battlefield of mind. The Gita has been misunderstood because its deep wisdom has been interpreted at a gross level.

These points were concluded on the first day of the National Convention on the Bhagavad Gita which was held at the Brahma Kumaris’ Om Shanti Retreat Centre here today. Participants of the convention included eminent people from the fields of religion, law, media, education and spirituality.

Opening the conference, BK Brijmohan, Additional Secretary-General, Brahma Kumaris, said: “Today, people say that religion is the cause of violence because they have misunderstood it, and wrongly placed violence at its roots.” He asked the participants to think deeply if the God of Gita could ever choose the path of war to cleanse the world of vices and restore peace.

BK Usha from Mount Abu said that when human beings do not approve of violence, how could God, the highest authority, give permission for a violent war. She said: “The God of Gita has revealed deep secrets and highest wisdom through metaphors. When these are taken literally, we end up believing in falsity.”

Elaborating on this, Dr. Nagendra, yoga guru and chairperson of the programme, said that unless intricate truths that make religions great are understood in the right context, the knowledge may appear confusing and irrational.

He said that everyone has both positive and negative tendencies within. The prime trait of devilish tendencies is uncontrolled speed of the mind. Till humans gain victory over their mind through the power of meditation, the chaos around the world cannot be controlled.

Appealing to everyone to end conflict in the name of religion, he said: “All religions promote highest human values, love and peace. But when we leave that common essence, and get too caught in dissimilarities that emerge from different religious identities, then religion is misused as a means of violence.”

'Inculcating morals can transform an individual'

8 Sep 2017
SOURCE: The Hitavada (http://thehitavada.com/Encyc/2017/7/3/%E2%80%98Inculcating-morals-can-transform-an-individual-.aspx) published by Staff Reporter on 3 July 2017

Spiritual awakening is needed for a person to fight with all obstacles in life. Violence is not the solution to fight with difficulties, but inculcating morals could help to transform an individual, said Justice Vangala Eshwaraiah, chairperson, National Commission for Backward Classes; former Chief Justice of High Court of Andhra Pradesh on the other day at Brahmakumaris, 8-A, Indraprastha Bhavan, Vasant Nagar, Neeri Road, near Deekshabhoomi. Justice V Eshwaraiah was delivering a talk on Spiritual Awakening for Judicial Reforms. Dr Baban Taiwade, Principal, Dhanwate National College also graced the occasion.

Justice Eshwaraiah stated that a person himself has been thinking as a physical body. But the physical body has been a constitution of five elements. The supreme consciousness or divine soul has been the driving force for the body. A person has become slave of his own senses and could not able to take any decision in life. This is the reason a lot of negative activities and incidences of violence have been witnessed in society. Even judiciary is not free from these negative forces, he added. Justice Eshwaraiah illustrated an example of Dacoit Panchamsingh.

The dangerous dacoit Panchamsingh got transformed into Brahmakumar Panchamsingh. When Brahma Kumaris could transform a dacoit in prison, then any person could get transformed in life. It is needed to identify self and get united with supreme soul, he added. Dr Baban Taiwade and Adv Purshottam Patil, Vice President of High Court Bar Association also spoke on this occasion. Sanjay Pannase made introductory remarks.

BK Manisha Didi welcomed the guests. BK Nilima Behan conducted the proceedings and BK Premprakash Bhai proposed a vote of thanks.

SOURCE: The Tribune (http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/chandigarh/week-long-drug-de-addiction-campaign-kicks-off/430954.html) published by the Tribune News Service on 3 July 2017

Brahma Kumaris Drug De-Addiction Campaign was inaugurated in the city today. The seven-day campaign will run through Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh in which more than 150 trained volunteers will offer services.

The volunteers will lay their focus on schools and colleges. The younger generation, particularly teenagers, is the worst victim of evils of drug addiction. Hospitals have a special department “Mind Body Medicine” that deals with the control of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation.

Dr Partap Midha, Director, Global Hospital, Mount Abu, and Dr Banarsi Lal Sah said tobacco had become the gateway to drugs in youth. Youngsters start with smoking and then gradually shift to even more harmful drugs out of various socioeconomic and family reasons.

Dr Sachin from Bombay also highlighted the ongoing campaigns of Brahma Kumaris wherein a large number of volunteers are offering their selfless services across the country to help innocent youth fallen in the evil trap of drugs.

While emphasising on the importance of meditation, he said with meditative practice and good dietary habits, drug de-addiction process automatically sets in. The patient doesn’t have to leave it forcefully and most importantly there are minimal or no withdrawal symptoms.

During meditation, certain hormones are secreted in the body that are responsible for cheerfulness, happiness and increase in tolerance power. These services from Brahma Kumaris are available without any cost, totally free of charge.

Dr Rakesh Gupta, Punjab State Nodal Officer for Tobacco Control, said Punjab is the first state to ban unapproved e-cigarettes, which contain a large quantity of nicotine in liquid form and are extremely harmful.

Apart from May 31, in Punjab, ‘No Tobacco Day’ is also celebrated on November 1, which happens to be ‘Punjab Day’.

Chief guest UT Home Secretary Anurag Agarwal addressed the audience and elucidated on the importance of services offered by Brahma Kumaris in this field.

He said without the help of such organisations even government projects could not be successful.
