News from Jayantiben Monday 22nd November, 2021

23 November 2021

On Saturday a group of us went to Cambridge.  There was a talk in the morning at Inner Space with a lovely group and this was on the theme of ‘Spiritual Vision’ and afterwards we had the East Anglian family come together at Baba’s home and again it was a very lovely gathering.  There was a chance for two short walks in between, one by the river and one by the Centre of the City, so it was a very lovely day.

Sisters Maureen, Carolin from Germany and Bro Shantanu went to Norwich on Friday and this was on the invitation of one of Carolin’s friends.  Women who had been at the Feminine and Indigenous Leadership event in COP from East Anglia University were also there and a very lovely group participated in a talk and dialogue together with workshops just looking at Spiritual Perspectives at present times. It was very well received.

Diwali Festival of Lights At Discover Bucks Museum, Aylesbury Saturday 13th November 12-5pm REPORT

19 November 2021

Brahma Kumaris were invited to contribute to the annual Diwali celebration at the Discover Bucks Museum in the historic old town area of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The invitation came about after some members of the Festival of Lights committee experienced our Glimpse of the Goddesses tableau and stand at Diwali on Trafalgar Square last month.  Over the afternoon some 200 people visited our space and took part in our activities.  A whole team from Global House and also the local area supported in creating a really beautiful space and also the pure vibrations that made it so special.

We were given a whole room to ourselves for our activities, which included:

  • ●    Raja Yoga meditation space - live meditation commentaries every half hour
  • ●    Tree of Life - Write good wishes on a post-it note and stick on the tree
  • ●    Emergency Optimist - Find a positive solution through the appropriate meditation ‘prescription’
  • ●    Glimpse of the Goddesses - Experience  the divinity within

Shakti wheel: Spin and invoke divine powers and virtues

Outside there was a small stage offering music and dance items, such as bamboo flute & sitar, dhol drummers and more. Sudesh Didi joined a Diya lighting ceremony with the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, George Anson, the MP for Aylesbury Rob Butler, the Mayor of Aylesbury Councillor Anders Christenson and the Director of the Discover Bucks Museum Sue Shave. Didi brought a special wave of happiness and enthusiasm to the gathering in her speech, addressing everyone as ‘living lights - living lights of truth, living lights of hope, living lights of love’ and asking them to say to themselves: ‘I am a true and peaceful living light’.

After the ceremony, Didi then gave an impromptu session in the Raja Yoga meditation space. Signalling to the beautiful tableau of the Goddesses right next to the space, Didi spoke about how we can all become embodiments of true wealth - the wealth of wisdom, wealth of peace, wealth of good wishes, wealth of purity, wealth of dignity, the wealth of truth. She ended by explaining how ‘the true meaning of Diwali is harmony’.

Didi then gave drishti, toli and fruit to all.

Om shanti.

News from Jayantiben (in London): 16 November 2021

17 November 2021

The programme hosted in Manchester on Saturday, 13 November, was very beautiful. There was a Sneh-Milan in the evening at Baba’s home, and people were really very, very happy to be back. The gathering included Community Leaders like the Dean of the Cathedral in Manchester, and various other high-level professionals.

On Sunday, 14th morning, we had a gathering in the Jain Community Centre for the Northern BK Family. The family hadn’t met together for two years, and so they were really overjoyed to be there. Around 80-90 Brahmins came together for a lovely morning class and breakfast.

Soon after that, Sister Carolin (Germany) who had accompanied me from Glasgow to Manchester, and I travelled back to London. London has been as hectic as ever, and there has been a good opportunity for many of us who were at Glasgow to share the experiences of COP26. Sister Carolin, Sister Sonja (Denmark) and Brother Golo are all in London for the next week.

Brahma Kumaris 50 years in the UK: Spiritual Conversation in Worthing

13 November 2021

Worthing (UK): Spiritual leader Sister Jayanti visited Worthing  to meet devotees and influential community leaders as part of the Brahma Kumaris’ celebrations for 50 years of being in the UK.

The Lighthouse Retreat Centre, in Marine Parade, saw it as a golden opportunity to explore the teachings of this women-led organisation, a worldwide spiritual university.

Sister Jayanti, European director of Brahma Kumaris, was in conversation with former Worthing mayoress Vicky Vaughan in front of invited guests, including Worthing deputy youth mayor Henny Sonnemann-Petty.

Jasmine Carter, from the Lighthouse Centre, said: “The BKs are dedicated to teaching people how to access their inner light of wisdom, peace and happiness and so become increasingly worry free, despite the challenges of life.”

Vicky set the scene by using the acronym LIGHT, standing for light leadership, inspiration, genuineness, harmony and thankful. She cited Steven Jeffery, headmaster at Our Lady of Sion School, as a great example of light leadership, as he had inspired her to connect with the BKs after his students enjoyed a talk about their work during assembly.

Discussing inspiration, Sister Jayanti said people needed a mind that was clear in order to catch it and then wonderful things could emerge. She said people needed to find inner space and experience moments of silence and peace within the self to help understand what truth is.

Some simple, practical methods were offered as a way of being thankful.

Vicky said she finds three things to be thankful for every day and Sister Jayanti inspired everyone to go further with a three-step exercise, write down 100 things you are grateful for over your life, each night write 10 points of gratitude and in the morning write 10 points of gratitude. She said so many people shared with her how this exercise had turned their life around.

The event ended with guided meditation.

News from Jayantiben (at Glasgow, COP26): 12 Nov 2021

12 November 2021

COP is coming to an end. Already we are seeing lots of delegates leaving, bringing their luggage to the Conference on the 11th.

Sister Philippa is here joining us for a day and a half, just to get some feeling for what COP is, so that there can be a documentary on the Eco-Initiative prepared later.

All of us will be leaving on the 13th; I go to Manchester for one night, and most of the group to London. It’s been a very good time together after the gap of a couple of years. COP26 certainly has been a very good platform for Baba’s children.

In terms of the Conference on the official level, many people are saying it’s a nice package, but actually not real content, but let’s see how the drama goes.

I know many people have been having special meditation for the success of Baba’s service at COP, so our heart-felt thanks to all those who have been supporting us with your good wishes and love.

News from Jayantiben (at Glasgow, COP26)

11 November 2021

Glasgow COP26 has been a good platform for Baba’s children. There have been over 30 Panels that we’ve participated in, and a few more still to go.

There has also been quite a lot of Media Coverage; BBC Radio 4, The Today Programme, which is the main religious channel in the UK, had done a short interview. Another interview was done with WWF, which was put around the media circuit; I am not sure how far that reached. There has also been an opportunity to meet many, many individuals–some old friends and also a chance to make new friends.

The Reports with details of the service news is already being circulated. [Please see the Onelink Green News page.]

Diwali Celebration at Global Cooperation House, London

11 November 2021

London (UK): A Diwali Video from Madhuban warmed up the auditorium with images of Om Shanti Bhawan alight with Diwali lights….and many images of past Diwali occasions on the three Madhuban campuses with the Dadis.

Over 200 BK’s gathered in the auditorium, and many more online, for this Diwali evening hosted by BK Jagruti and BK Minesh, with humour and lightness!

‘To me it means coming together with a family feeling….and a lot of work in the kitchen!

‘After two years of total, social distance, a chance to regather’

BK Rekha and BK Sujitha sang from their hearts a song to the future:

Come with me and I will take you, To such a place under the sky

Where there is no sadness, nor any tears either… And love, and only love, grows…

Where the most colourful birds bring news of all your wishes where even growing buds, in your dreams laugh joyfully, where the sun sets beautifully in this dreamlike place….and where love and only love blossoms…

Everyone meets and walks together….

BK Jagruti led a sketch on special Diwali foods characteristics personified by Jalebi ben, Gulab Jamunben, Ladoobhai, Ghughrabhai and Mathiyabhai.

BK Sahil led brothers with an energetic dance followed by BK Jagruti leading the sisters…

A Diwali video message (from recent times) from Dadi Jankiji brought a smile to everyone’s hearts: ‘my feelings for you are to be happy and prosperous’ ‘Sit in the lift, which is a Gift of God’

 BK Karishma sang:

‘Catch these moments and fill them with love and happiness, holding on to the highest trust…..shine in the dark and be who we are…….light up the stars with the beauty in our hearts….

You are walking behind me, beside me…..and as I see the truth and the beauty in myself and everyone I open my heart to a world where we shine in the dark and be who we are…

Chase our fears away so happiness can reign….

Then followed an ‘Arti’ dance

BK Jagruti invited BK Sister Sudesh to the stage and for 15 minutes she shared powerful Drishti(pure soul conscious vision) with everyone before reminding everyone of the significance of Diwali. She said, Om Shanti. Happy Deepvali, greetings of Diwali… What I am experiencing is an unlimited world. Our backbone, behind, on the top, very incognito, but powerful is the supreme light, God’s light. God doesn’t appear alone, He comes with the light of truth and purity. Brahma Baba is the embodiment. The lighthouse, in that house where the Supreme light comes, sits and brings purity, peace and happiness….

The fire of this love and power finishes all darkness, weaknesses, shortcomings, addictions and impurities. All of this is in a packet of Maya, Ravan.  From that light there are the living lights, our ancestors. Mama, Baba, Didi Manhohini, Dadiji, Dadi Janki. Dadi Gulzar….Oceans meeting the Ocean of Light…..BK Sister Jayanti is also present here, although as a lighthouse she is on unlimited service now….

Congratulations to each living light…the lights merged in Baba’s eyes. When we are sitting in this light we will see only divinity, spirituality, dignity and royalty. Mama and Baba made a practical example in igniting the light….the Divas are the clay of the body and the light is the soul alight. Each one think for a minute what light you are….with God in your eyes, and you in God’s eyes.

BK Sister Sudesh again took everyone into powerful spiritual silence.

Willesden Yogi spreads peace and resilience at COP26 in Glasgow

11 November 2021

Willesden Yogi has been in Glasgow teaching how inner resilience can help people to make the planet a better place to live.
Sister Jayanti, European director of Brahma Kumaris in Pound Lane, has been leading a delegation to the UN climate change conferences since 2009, with the aim of raising the awareness of the connection between consciousness and climate change.

The spiritual yogi has sat on a number of panels during the two week United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP26).

She joined a Climate and Nature session organised by the World Wildlife Fund which explored the role that faith-based organizations can play in advocating for strong action on climate and biodiversity.
"Whatever starts inside is going to reach outside," she said.

"We started talking about inner consciousness impacting climate and biodiversity many years ago but it was a few years ago that UNESCO had as its banner: ‘Changing Minds, not Climate’.
"I was very pleased that that concept had reached places like UNESCO but also other people too."

While at the conference Sr Jayanti made a speech at an Interfaith prayer & mediation vigil explaining how spirituality teaches people that everything begins inside and is then translated into words and actions on the outside which then sees practical changes manifest.

"Climate change is now on red alert. The call of the time is for us to raise our consciousness to a higher level, so that we consider not only peace with human beings but peace with all forms of life and the planet itself."

She added: "We cannot have the same lifestyle that we have had for the last century and still expect to reduce carbon emissions so that we keep to 1.5 degrees celsius rise in temperature.

"It is impossible to have both; we have to choose one or the other.

"Spiritual power means to be ready to change my levels of physical comfort for the greater good of humanity and the planet."

She encouraged people to build up their "inner resilience" using her own experience to guide people.

"If I'm strong I can deal with what happens around me. If I don't have that inner capacity, I'm not able to deal with issues in the right way and my distress intensifies. We see it again and again."

"In silence I am able to feel my own power develop."

Sister Jayanti on BBC Radio 4 Sunday programme on 7th November: Is faith being left out of COP26?

10 November 2021

The topic was:  Is faith being left out of COP26?

UK: A look at the ethical & religious issues of the week with Edward Stourton

BBC Radio 4 Sunday: Is faith being left out of COP26? Is faith central to the debate about caring for the environment? This week the UK’s Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis said religious leaders were left to “scramble around” for the chance to make their voices heard at COP 26, the UN summit aimed at bringing climate change under control. As the conference enters a second week, Edward Stourton talks to faith leaders about their experiences, including BK Sister Jayanti, Additional Chief of Brahma Kumaris, what exactly they have to add to the debate and how they’re going to make themselves heard in week two.

Answering Edward Stourton, BK Sister Jayanti said that in terms of civil society, there’s been a wonderful opportunity to engage with people, to engage with other faith leaders, and leaders of other aspects of life. So there is a lot of interaction and communication happening. Hundreds of thousands of people are gathering not just in Glasgow but across the world, making their voices heard and so, at some point, I think that’s going to carry the motion in a very powerful way, so that people do understand that it’s time to give attention to nature.

"I attended the conference in 2009", Sister Jayanti said, "but over the years, special major change happened in 2014 before the Paris agreement. What happened is that the environmentalists started paying attention to faith-based organizations. Because we have the connection with not only the leaders, but especially with the grassroots, I think they are aware that [religious] voices can have a major impact in terms of transformation of lifestyle especially.

I do know that the government in India is very aware of the power of the religious dimension and I know that definitely they will want to be in touch with people so that the message can be carried through.

News from Jayantiben (in Glasgow): 2 November 2021

8 November 2021

Being here at COP26 Glasgow has been a great chance to connect with the Brahmin family, and also many, many long-term friends who have been with us in other Conferences, and generally in other places around the world. Everyone is very happy to see each other.

I won’t share news of what’s going on because you would have seen all of that as it’s happening, probably in your own newspapers and media channels, as well as through the BK Reports. There have already been very special moments: There was an event on Sunday, the first day of COP, in George Square, right in the heart of the city of Glasgow where BKs were able to share a statement.

Om Shanti
