Rakshabandhan Celebrations Held in Indian Embassy And Other Places - Service News from Shanghai, China

Bk sister Sapna was invited by The Indian Embassy in Beijing China for a special Raksha Bandhan event organised by the Embassy for the friends of India. The participants were mostly Chinese nationals who are associated with Indian culture in some way including Research scholars of Indian culture and language, Professors of Hindi (Chinese nationals who have been studying and teaching Hindi language and literature in china), Professional Chinese dancers who have been performing and promoting Indian dance forms like bharatnatyam, kathak and others.... 

 

BK Sister Sapna also addressed the gathering about the significance and importance of the festival during modern times and about the richness of Indian culture in terms of associating human and moral values with these festivals to bring harmony among humans.

 

Sister Sapna tied Rakhi to Mr. Pradeep Kumar Rawat, The Hon'ble Ambassador of India to People's Republic of China. Alongwith that she also shared the news and details about activities of Brahma Kumaris in China.

 

Tied the sacred thread to Prof. Jiang Jing Hui, Department of Hindi Language and Literature and had a nice discussion about the rich history and culture of Bharat as he has a long term connection with Bharat.

 

In Shanghai, tied the sacred thread to Mr. N.Nandakumar, Consul general of India in Shanghai and other consul officers and staff.

In Guangzhou, tied the sacred thread to Mr. Shambhu L. Hakki , the Consul general of India in Guangzhou and had a fruitful discussion about the future programmes to be organised in cooperation.

 

Raksha bandhan for Indian community: A special event for Indians in Guangzhou was organised at the Community centre where more than hundred Indian families came to get the sacred thread tied along with spiritual message and meditation experience. 

 

Raksha bandhan retreats for Chinese community in Guangzhou, Foshan , Shenzhen and Changsha.

 

Events for local Chinese Bks as well as for contact souls and new students were also organised at the centre.

Meditation Cafe at the BK Center for Spiritual Learning in Philippines

Tagaytay (Philippines, Asia): The first meditation cafe was organised by the Brahma Kumaris in Philippines at BK Center for Spiritual Learning in Tagaytay. Around 65 guests from local schools, local youth leaders, microfinancing company, Tagaytay Medical center etc. were present in the event.

 

BK Sister Manda, the coordinator of Global Retreat Center of Oxford, London was the spiritual resource for the Philippines retreat held at the BK Center for Spiritual Learning in Tagaytay.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Service News from Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia - The Miracles of Vegan and Meditation

Dear Divine Family,  Om Shanti,

 

Brahma Kumaris Denpasar held a seminar for the general public on the topic "The Miracles of Vegan and Meditation". There were two resource persons. The first discourse was delivered by Dr. Susianto Tseng, President of World Vegan Organisation & Vegan Society Indonesia. He spoke about the benefits of veganism.

 

BK Sister Janaki, National Coordinator of Brahma Kumaris Indonesia, spoke about the importance of Meditation and recognizing  true self identity.

 

This activity was held on Tuesday 11 July 2023, at Peace House,Denpasar, and  was attended by more than 130 people in person. Fifty people attended online.

 

The in-person guests looked enthusiastic and interested in listening and also asked some questions. Sister Janaki invited the participants to do a meditation exercise which was guided by a short commentary. At the end of the event all participants got blessings and toli.

 

After the program  5 souls registered for the 7 days basic course.

We have something for everyone this month. The Wisdom of Happiness is for those new to the Brahma Kumaris. The Men's Retreat in July still has some places available. There are two day programs on a weekend which we don't have often. The one for parents of young children will guide you on how meditation can help you with the important task of bringing up children. If you enjoy being outside and doing something then you might enjoy helping us repair the labyrinth. See below for many more retreats.

 

A tip for this month to care for the self:

Put the past into the past and don't have any unrealistic expectations for the future. Ask yourself: What do I have to do at this moment in time?
