News from Jayantiben in London: 13 October
17 October 2020
One service leads to another, and service with Br Nil Kumar on his Global Programmes led to a connection with Mrs Mina Khagram in Kenya who organised a programme with the Lohana Community hosting this in the UK. There were participants from Africa, UK and other parts of the world, and the theme was “The Silver Lining of the Cloud of COVID-19”. It was a very lively programme with a Talk, Questions/Interview, Rapid Fire Interview (One-Word Questions with short statement Answers), and also Welcome and Thanks by Minaben and the dignitaries of the Lohana Community.
We are also appreciating how much Rajanibhai has done for Baba, and service in an all-round way during the last 8 years in London. He served in several of the departments in Baba’s home, as well as helped Dadi whenever she came to London, and joined Dadi and Hansaben to Barcelona (Spain), Moringen (Germany) but also far afield as Hong Kong and other places. So having completed 8 years here, Rajanibhai now returns to ORC. Many, many thanks to Ashaben for giving us this valuable jewel to help us in London Service. According to the Immigration Laws, Rajanibhai has to return to Bharat, but we are hoping that after sometime he will be able to join us in London again. Thanks to Rajanibhai from our hearts.

Lighthouse Retreat Centre, Worthing: Being the Change Series Launches and Half-day Retreat Announcement
15 October 2020
Being the Change - A new series of short, inspiring stories that brought about change
Are you tired of listening to lots of talk but not seeing the change around you? Do you wish to be inspired towards new directions in your life?
Being the Change is a new series that brings you inspiring stories of self-transformation from meditators around the world sharing their real experiences of challenges and insights gained through their life journeys.
When we connect with the authentic and rich experiences of others, then it inspires a meaningful connection with our own life journey. And this is the purpose of this series, to be inspired and to feel energised and spark a renewed sense of hope and direction towards our own direction of meaning and growth.
Starting on 15 October, the Lighthouse Retreat Centre is hosting a new series of twice weekly (Thursdays & Mondays) stories that are authentic, inspiring and short. Stories that made a difference and are worth sharing.
Do join us. There will also be time for questions and comments and we will finish with a meditation.

Online Half Day Retreat - Pathways to Communication
The term nonviolence as Gandhi used it – refers to our natural state of compassion when violence has subsided from the heart. While we may not consider the way we talk to be ‘violent’, our words often lead to hurt and pain, whether for ourselves or others.
Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a specific approach to communicating – speaking and listening – that leads us to give from the heart, connecting us with ourselves and with each other in a way that allows our natural compassion to flourish.
On 24 October from 9.30 - 12.30, Maureen Chen, currently in Australia, will be running a half day retreat on Non Violent Communication, devised by psychologist, Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, on zoom hosted by the Lighthouse, Worthing. Good material, well presented.
In this introduction to Nonviolent Communication, we will learn to communicate:
- Observations without Evaluations
- Feelings without Analysis
- Needs without Dependency
- Requests without Demands

From the moment we are born, we are constantly being influenced by all kinds of people, ideas, and forces. Some of these influences are healthy, and promotes our ability to grow into independent, fulfilled… other forms of influence instill dependency and addiction, at times even indoctrinating people to harm themselves and others.
How can meditation be used as a tool to overcome addictions and dependencies?
Sister Sudesh, Sudesh Didi, European Director of Brahma Kumaris, has the unique ability of crossing cultural differences, serving as a bridge between East and West.
For over 40 years Sister Sudesh has been an outstanding lecturer, teacher, and broadcaster on human development, meditation, and the creative abilities of the mind.

The Antidote to Exhaustion with Louise Richmond was presented by Inner Space Wembley
9 October 2020
What is the opposite of exhaustion? Perhaps creativity, lightness, enthusiasm, joy, energetic...just reading these words starts to lighten the mind. Usually when we pause and understand the underlying cause then it’s easier to find the antidote.
This speaker discussed this subject and gave us pointers as to how we can overcome exhaustion.
Speaker: Louise Richmond – UK
Louise Richmond has been a student of Brahma Kumaris for many years and has come to appreciate the depths of its teaching and profoundness of its easy Raja Yoga meditation. As part of the small team in South London, she enjoys sharing the practice of Raja Yoga meditation with others.

7 October 2020
The Iceland Government is hosting a Conference together with the UN Environmental Programme, and Religions for Peace, and this is happening online due to the pandemic. On 5 October, we were able to participate in hearing the Opening, and on the 6th, we participated in the European Regional Hub in small groups which was useful.
There was also the possibility of doing a presentation for 10 minutes, sharing lots of photographs also, and explaining the role of Ethics and Values in terms of the Environment. Madhuban Projects: India One, Yogic Agriculture, Transformation of the Gardens in Mumbai and spaces in Abu were also shown together with photographs of the Street Children Project that started in Ahmedabad, and went to other cities also.
There has been high-level participation from the Leaders of Faith Communities from across the world, including Islam and the Vatican. It’s been a chance to catch up with several old friends from the Faith Communities also.
The Conference continues through till Thursday. Sister Pratibha of Kenya, who attended the UNEP Assembly this year together with Sister Sonja, were the instruments to suggest my name for participation with the Organiser, who is based in Nairobi.
