“Role of Women in Value based Leadership” Event Flagged Off By Indian High Commissioner of Malaysia

23 March 2022

Malaysia: To celebrate International Women’s Day, Brahma Kumaris Malaysia focused on “The Role of Women in Value based Leadership”.

Mr Reddy, the Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia, flagged off the event by extolling the contribution of women in shaping families, societies and nations The “Stand Up India Schemes” address various women’s issues concerning literacy, finance, mental health, policy making and entrepreneurship.

The main speaker was BK Jayanti, Additional Administrative Head of Brahma Kumaris and the Director of Brahma Kumaris activities in Europe and the Middle East. She said that women leaders have the quality of inclusiveness which is to give everyone an opportunity to move forward They generally walk their talk, fulfil their promises and commitments properly and are not self centered, being more concerned about benefiting everyone All these qualities are very much a part of the world scenario and so, feminine qualities are also needed to be able to lead in today’s world These qualities are inner values which we can tap into by going within Thus, through the inward journey, we can tap into our inner state of peace, love and wisdom, the keys for creating a better world.

BK Jayanti then took the audience into a beautiful silent reflection which was very relaxing and yet so refreshing.

Madam Taslima, wife of Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia, considers International Women’s Day as an opportunity to come together, dream together and put our thoughts together to create harmony in the world.

Dato Letchumanan, President of Brahma Kumaris Malaysia thanked all three speakers and said that there is a leader in everyone. "We just have to realise the inner energy, believe, and create that awareness in ourselves."

The participants received specially designed e blessings in the form of flowers at the end of the programme.

The programme was aired online with translation for Malay language and simultaneous translation for Tamil, Chinese and Hindi.

"Taylor and the Bright Light" Has Been Released as an Audiobook

1 March 2022

Om Shanti,

The children's book  "Taylor and the Bright Light" by Susan Kauderer has been released as a free audiobook. All 10 chapters are available as separate audio segments on the Australian Virtual Centre website: https://brahmakumaris.org.au/new/taylor/. The release on the 1st of March 2022 has been timed to celebrate the time when the Bright Light appears. The audiobook is most suitable for children ages 6 to 8.

About the book  from https://www.inspiredstillness.com/product/taylor-and-the-bright-light-childrens-book-6-8yrs-age/

TAYLOR AND THE BRIGHT LIGHT is a delightful children story of Taylor, a young boy passing through challenges in life since becoming a brother to two twin baby sisters. After experiencing all sort of negative emotions he discovers that by being very quiet a ‘Bright Light’ happens to  appear in front of him, making him feel safe, happy and warm again. Through the presence and company of his new friend ‘Bright Light’ Taylor is transported to magical worlds and amazing sights. He finds out that his bad behaviour is not him and he explores his positive qualities. A beautiful book to introduce children to meditation, and a charming story for older children to read alone or for parents to share with younger ones.

About the author Susan Kauderer

Susan Kauderer taught kindergarten and first grade in New York for 26 years and was director of an early childhood centre. Her work now involves helping children develop self-esteem and awakening their innate beauty and power.

From the back cover: "Stories are the best way to introduce children to meditation. Here is a charming story for older children to read alone or for parents to share with younger children. As they enjoy the tale, children will learn how to meditate and understand the benefits."

Congratulations to Susan and her team.
