Brahma Kumaris Address Nelson Mandela Conference at the Parliament House in Melbourne
28 July 2022
The Nelson Mandela Youth Leadership Summit 2022:
Young People Creating the Positive Leadership the World Needs
Melbourne (Australia): The Nelson Mandela Youth Leadership Summit 2022 was held at the historic Legislative Assembly Chamber of the Victorian Parliament in Melbourne on 18 July (Nelson Mandela Day), bringing together a diverse youth population from Shepparton, Regional Australia, urban Australia, and Asia-Pacific, to create a group of connected future leaders of the region and Australia. Young leaders shared their experiences and BK Ananya was one among them.
“Good morning, my name is Ananya, I am a facilitator of the Brahma Kumaris Organisation which is a spiritual organisation. It is the world’s largest spiritual organisation that is led by women. When I came five years ago to Australia from India to pursue my bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences in sustainability, there were quite a lot of challenges because it was the first time I stepped out of my own country. Handling growth, work responsibilities and even looking at the world we are in right now, climate change, people starving, people are hungry…”
She added saying that, “What makes me feel optimistic is spirituality, taking time off for myself daily because I truly believe that change outside is only possible when I change something inside my own consciousness.
Optimism comes only when we are taking time off, disconnecting from the outside world for a little while, dropping out the labels of culture, caste, nationality, and religion, and coming back to who we truly are.”

Blue Mountains Retreat Centre August Programs
3 July 2022
Dear friends
Here we are, in the middle of Winter. The cold and windy weather encourages us to go deep inside the self in meditation.
In August we have a new program especially for police officers. If you know any who are interested in calming the mind and meditation, then please let them know. There is also a variety of talks and retreats to suit both beginners and experienced meditators.
Soon I will be relocating to our Melbourne retreat centre at Baxter. Keep up the meditation and feel free to call in if you are in Victoria. Its been a pleasure to have your company over the years.
Here are some wise words from Dadi Janki:
Let others see your uniqueness in every situation, in your attitude, vision and actions and be loving in a soul conscious way.
Keep warm and calm and enjoy each moment.
Warmest wishes from us all,
Sally
