Food for Soul – Tension and Attention

Om Shanti. There is no nourishment like happiness. Happiness is nourishment. Worry is a type of illness and makes you into a patient. So, add “a” to tension, and simply pay attention. Then your tension will disappear. What should we pay attention to? To who I am and who is mine. I am a soul and mine is the Supreme Soul. With my attention on this, I will experience great happiness.

Grand Lighthouse Opening in Kowloon, Hong Kong

1st October 2021

Kowloon (Hong Kong): The Kowloon Centre of Hong Kong celebrated the opening of Lighthouse, a new place for Godly service. Performed with great zeal and enthusiasm this heralded a new beginning in the Tung Chung Town of the largest Island in Hong Kong – Lantau. With its proximity to the Hong Kong International Airport, this premise will also serve as a place of rest for transiting BKs.

Lighthouse is a gift to the BK family of Hong Kong from a big-hearted couple. Inspired by modern interior design, this house has been built with high-tech facilities such as a best-of-class projection system, Holographic projection of Bapdada, overhead projection of Soul World, remotely operated google bulbs, etc.

The agenda of the opening ceremony included some traditional auspicious activities like breaking of coconut, boiling of milk, ribbon cutting, etc. Seniors Rajayogis BK Dr. Nirmala from Madhuban, BK Charlie from Australia, BK Rajni from Japan, BK Chen from Beijing, and BK Letchu from Malaysia participated and blessed the occasion with their speech.

BK Sister Shivani, who sowed the seed for this place of service also attended and delivered an inspirational speech.

Senior BKs, BK Trish from SE Asia, BK Jenna from Washington, and BK Ganesh from Sri Lanka sent their video blessings. The opening ceremony was telecast live over Zoom and was attended by participants from Asian countries and around the world.

The Event Management Team lead by BK Bindu, Centre coordinator, managed the pre, during, and post event activities.

The Hong Kong BK Family is now all-inspired to take advantage of Lighthouse to expand Godly service further into the communities of Hong Kong and create a worldwide platform.

A Little News and Environment UN Days in September & October 2021

30 September 2021

Information Session for BKs
 Wednesday 29th September @ 10.30am AEST
with Klig (Yarra Valley) and Jessica & Robert (Leura)

As BKs we know that wasting food means losing our fortune; washing grains of rice down the sink is like washing away diamonds.
For UN International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste Reduction we will hold a workshop for BKs:

Tips on how to store food, recycle leftovers successfully, compost and farm worms.

Bring along your own experiences.

On Zoom on the day

Tamasin Ramsay's research report on Sustainable Yogic Agriculture has been cited extensively by Janus Bojesen Jensen in a book titled 'Subtle Agroecologies - Farming With the Hidden Half of Nature”.

The entire book is free to download... see Chapter 22.

At home, Tamasin has just started a personal Sustainable Yogic Agriculture practice according to the system of the farmers in India - established and practiced for more than ten years. The SYA practice begins with “seed empowerment” i.e. meditation on the seeds, for ten days. In the photo below Tamasin has separated the seeds - the yogic seeds are in the glass jars with labels and the control seeds are the ones remaining in the packets. She will update us with developments!

Аir pollution is the single greatest environmental risk to human health with with far-reaching impacts owing to its transport over long distances and one of the main avoidable causes of death and disease globally.  Particularly in developing countries, air pollution disproportionately affects women, children and the elderly, especially in low-income populations as they are often exposed to high levels of ambient air pollution and indoor air pollution from cooking and heating with wood fuel and kerosene.

‘Women Connecting the Dots’: Celebration of UN International Day of Peace in the Philippines

30 September 2021

Philippines (Asia): It will be the 34th year since Brahma Kumaris Philippines received a Peace Messenger Award from the United Nations!  ‘Women Connecting the Dots,‘ a special program open to the public, was hosted by Brahma Kumaris Philippines in Celebration of UN International Day of Peace.

UN Women’s Project Manager Ms. Rosalyn Mesina and Peace Advocate Ms. Yasmin Busran shared center stage with BK Rajni Daulatram, National Co-ordinator of Brahma Kumaris in Japan and the Philippines.

Recovery can only be better if we are able to connect the dots. The issues surrounding the pandemic – health, food, and ecology — after all, are all interconnected. The approach to recovery needs to be holistic if we want to live in a sustainable and equitable world. Let us be inspired to think creatively and holistically as we highlight the strengths and contributions of women.

The conversation was much appreciated for being grounded in real issues affecting us currently, and how spirituality can be a crucial “dot” that can bring all the other dots together.

Launch of ‘The Calm Collective’: Every Sunday Evening Till 19th December 2021

30 September 2021

Melbourne (Australia): Launch of The Calm Collective was on Sunday 26th September with Special Guest Justin Langer.

The Calm Collective – you, me, us, all – holding the light – together

A special initiative called The Calm Collective which is being launched as a collaborative network, to bring together committed meditators, faith leaders and well-wishers from all backgrounds and walks of life.

It has one aim: To establish a collective, silent intentional space that gathers the power of presence for 10 minutes. These focused spaces are designed to generate atmospheres of calm, healing and hope.

Initial Call to Action and Launch

The initial Call to Action is to gather from 9.00 – 9.15 pm, each Sunday evening, from Sunday September 26th through to Sunday 19th December, 2021, to support Australia and our planet during some difficult times ahead.

The holding of these weekly spaces will be accompanied by a couple minutes of inspirations and reflections by a long-term faith and/or meditation practitioner.

The first week, we are so pleased to have long-term meditator and Head Coach of the Australian Men’s Cricket Team – Justin Langer. Then, in the following week, we will have the lovely Dr Tami Roos sharing a couple of minutes of inspirational reflections before our 10 minutes of holding a silent intentional space.

The host of the series will be Caroline Ward who some of you will also know from The Optimist Heart series that she hosted last year (as well as the UN Peace Day event this week).
